Artisan - West Hartford
Restaurant was empty but the time it took to get the food was extremely long. Quality food however time for food to be prepared was excessive.
great food , impeccable service and wonderful atmosphere -- would highly recommend
Excellent experience! Atmosphere, cuisine, cocktails... all wonderful. Staff was attentive, but not over-bearing, gave recommendations, experienced, welcoming, engaging and personable.
My husband and I usually celebrate our anniversary at the Capitol Grille, but I wanted to try the Artisan because I’d heard good things. It surpassed our expectations. It was QUIET-something that’s so hard to find in a restaurant these days. Service was excellent; food was good-from the warm bread at the outset to the dessert. There is nothing that my husband or I could find that wasn’t up to our expectations,. A nice find,.
Maitre’D adds to great experience
Great place but had to flag down the waiter for drinks, water, bread... stuff like that all night. All while there were people standing and waiting to bus your dishes. Too many of them and not enough waiters. Crazy.... right?
Food was delicious and the ambiance was great. Great way to celebrate our anniversary!
We entered a warm, inviting, tastefully decorated room in which a fire was going so we opted to enjoy the ambience there rather than in the equally inviting formal dining room. The wait staff couldn’t have been any nicer—they made every effort to make us feel comfortable, even pampered. The
L’Artisan cocktail was delicious as was the appetizer, a chicken liver mousse, and our entrees. Portions were plentiful, beautifully plated.
Enjoyable lunch with family and friends. A first visit, fabulous lunch. This second visit, the food preparation was only average. The restaurant was empty except for our party.
Great service and experience from everyone including our server Nicole G.
The fireplace and smores is a hit for the whole family!
Wonderful staff gave exceptional service from start to finush. Food was divine. Perfectly cooked scallops and duck. Very reasonable considering location and excellent food.
Great service and food was delicious!
My first time there and the food was outstanding! The kale salad and seafood chowder was the best I have ever had. I am making plans to return soon.
First time visitor. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Selected the "Dine Out" price fixed option - which was excellent - But also thought the regular menu looked excellent and reasonable.
Lovely place and great meal, service seemed rushed.
Excellent food, great service for a reasonable price
Valentine’s Day dinner was awesome. 5/5
10/10. Maybe the best meal I’ve ever had.
The pre-fixed dinner at Artisan was amazing! Especially because they had excellent vegetarian options on the menu. Special thanks to the Chef and team at Artisan for considering Vegetarians.
Very disappointing. They didn’t seem to have their A game for Valentines Day. Food was good, not great. Service was mediocre.
This is an amazing restaurant. I had a great vegan meal and loved the ambiance. I will definitely bring my wife back here.
Wonderful restaurant. Nice atmosphere, cozy. Very tasty food and great service!
Lovely experience as always. The food was outstanding as is the service!
My girlfriend and I have been there on quite a few occasions. The food is always great, the service is always great. The kitchen was a bit loud and distracted the ambiance a bit for us this time around.
Your wine guy in the bar is the BEST. Made my night. Red hair. Beard. Simply the best. You can’t pay that kid enough.
Food was delicious (especially homemade pasta).
We went for a birthday celebration, and the birthday girl was thrilled with it all. Sparkler was a nice touch too.
Our party of three had a lovely lunch at the Artisan. The food and service was exceptional. We will return.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Met friends in the tavern and decided to eat in there as we were in a casual mood. We had the shrimp & grits and beef carpaccio as starters and both were outstanding! Service was exceptional. Hanger steak was good, not great. My husband’s pot roast was excellent. We shared desserts ( the warm mini donuts)..., decadent. We will return!
Excellent. Our server Matthew was excellent. The frittata was delicious.
My husband went to Artisan to celebrate our 30th anniversary. It was the perfect spot for a special evening. Our server, Stefani took amazing care of us. The food was delicious and beautiful. I definitely appreciate going to a restaurant with vegetarian options for me as well as plenty of omnivore options for my husband. I am sorry I didn’t take any photos, but we were too busy enjoying our meal. Thank you Artisan, we will be back!
Food was incredible! The room was so cozy w
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely brunch at Artisan. The L'artisan cocktail is a winner! We enjoyed the popovers and fresh scones in the bread basket, followed by a perfectly cooked steak and eggs and crepes. A dessert coffee rounded out a wonderful meal. Service was attentive. Beautiful room. Highly recommend.
Our first time and we look forward to returning. Yes, an issue with the original order which was not correct but the server did her best to get things corrected ASAP. Also thought it strange we were given 1/2 slice of toast each with our eggs. We did get another piece of bread.
Definitely worth a visit. Interesting menu, lovely staff and pretty dining room.
Great Maitre’D and waitress.
Delicious salad, appetizer and main dish.
Warm atmosphere. Did not feel rushed.
The food is worth the price you pay for. Highly recommend. Will certainly go back.
Early dinner before theater. The food was really delicious and the service very attentive without hovering. Looking forward to going back
Just a poor swordfish dish. It was small and perplexing that it went on a brown sauce not red w cioppino. Fish buried in sauce couldn’t taste it. I think only one plate met satisfaction
Overall small portions, bread so so, wine excellent
We had booked our reservation ahead on open table for a week night and in comment section we asked for a booth or quiet corner. We arrived a few minutes early and were brought into the dining room which had many empty tables ( three tables had diners). We were shown a table the was partly in the hallway. We saw there was a table for two and the corner and asked for that table and were it was reserved. We asked to be moved and the hostess left to check on another table. Five minutes or more later she comes back and offers us the table in the corner. The room is lovely. Menu is limited and descriptions not entirely clear so one needs to ask what certain terms are. We found the service to be inexperienced and nonprofessional. For a restaurant whose entrees are $30+, one expects a higher level of service than we received. ( pet peeves include the server bringing the different courses not knowing which person ordered what ( we were just a table of 2!) wait person coming over multiple times checking on us and asking us is everything ok ( were eating and conversing amongst ourselves, so a non verbal was all that was needed).
Food was ok, but I would definitely not put artisan on my list of fine dining restaurants and most likely would not opt to return
I loved the grilled octopus and garden salad that I had. My husband had the pot roast. He said it had good flavor but not enough au jus.
Always a great place for any occasion. Great food, great wine selection!
