Artisan Ratings and Reviews
Very comfortable room with good spacing between tables and a wonderfully low noise lever. Service very congenial and good but I think our server was a bit stretched. There was a long period between our saying we needed a little more time before ordering an her return. Oyster and clam appetizer was superb but best eaten without the accompanying condiments which were over powering. Scallop entire was very good but the lobster linguini was over cooked and a bit rubbery and the other ingredients overpowered the lobster. Deserts were good.
Great place for lunch. The food is tasty, and nicely sized portions. The service is great, attentive, but no overdone. The only thing you can fault Artisan on, is that it is need of a good update. The banquet seat has cigarette burns ? The casual seating area by the fire has chairs that are downright grubby, stained, and not nice to sit in. The table tops are heat marked and need to be refinished. If they would spend some time and money on some much needed housekeeping, this would be a straight five star venue.
My boyfriend and I came for dinner on a Saturday evening. 8:15 reservation. Didn’t wait to long to be seated in main dining room. It’s definitely an older crowd at this location compared to sister hotel/restaurant, Lescale in Greenwich. However the food is 10x better at this place! Highly recommend the chicken liver mouse appetizer, the Scottish Salmon and the best dish we’ve had in a while, the Berkshire Pork Chip. That and a beer and glass of wine came to $100. Not too bad.
Service was way too rushed. I felt like we were being pushed out from the moment we arrived. I find it extremely rude when servers keep returning to clear plates when members of the dining party are still eating. Perhaps reservations should be more spaced out.
If you want a leisure and relaxing lunch were you can actually hear each other conversation, this time is the place to dine. The staff is very friendly and extremely attentive without feeling being rushed. The lunch menu has a nice selection. I always enjoy thei soups and sandwiches. And of course, their desserts are a must!
Ambiance and food is an asset to this restaurant.
Everything we ate was delicious and the decor had an elegant and inviting vibe.
The waiter was very nice however, wish he was was more attentive to us.
He seemed to be preoccupied by chatting with his fellow workers and when we needed him, he wasn't available.
Overall, we would definitely go back with the hopes service will improve!
Atmosphere is wonderfully cozy! Perfect mood lighting for a romantic evening with your loved one. Food is always excellent! We had the Lamb Chops special tonight, which was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Very tender and absolutely delicious! Makes you want the whole lamb! The side of creamy polenta is amazing - think of mashed potatoes that are more dense and melt in your mouth. This combo mixed with the side of chopped brussel sprouts was fantastic!
As always everything was great at Artisan. Food was delicious and our waiter was awesome! Our only complaint is we got there for a 2:30 reservation. The host sat us and said “The kitchen closes at 2:30 but I told the Chef to wait because you were coming.” My husband and I both were dumb founded as to why he said this. Why take a 2:30 reservation if the kitchen closes at 2:30? This comment by the man who sat us was not necessary. It took our experience from 5 stars to 4.
Artisan is one of my favorite restaurants in the Westport/Fairfield area. I often meet clients or friends here for lunch as there is a terrific price fixed menu, elegant table settings (white table cloths), great service & you never feel pressured to leave the table. Also a great dinner spot with valet parking ~ so much easier than looking for a spot in downtown Westport. Love this restaurant and will be back in the future!
Although food and service was great, my request for a birthday oriented dessert to share was ignored/overlooked by the staff. I'm wondering if this is a restaurant or Open Table shortcoming. Why do you add special requests to the Open Table Reservation when they are not acknowledged? Overall, love Open Table concept, but falling short on the special request arena.
Artisan is our local "go to" spot for a casual lunch in the tavern or a special occasion. The rooms are beautiful, the service always courteous. The menu is seasonal and local, the food is perfectly executed. There's something for everyone--gorgeous salads with the most pristine greens, comfort food like fish and chips or omelettes, and probably the best burger you'll ever eat on a homemade English muffin. The fries are freshly made, thin and crispy. I'm addicted to the chicken liver mousse, serviced alongside a frisee salad with dried cherries and garlic toast. The $19 lunch prix fixe is a really good deal--first and main courses plus coffee or tea. $4 more for a glass of wine or dessert. I adore this place and we're lucky it's in our neighborhood.
Ten of us went to celebrate the birthday of one. The restaurant exudes gracious, sophisticated dining in a relaxed and artistic atmosphere. Their prix fixe lunch menu is truly a wonderful value.
We had brought our own birthday cupcakes which our server, Grayson, presented ceremoniously to the table with candles lit on individual plates which he had beautifully garnished.
Everyone left exhilarated from the experience and looking forward to returning. A memorable dining experience.
My wife and I went for our anniversary and had a very positive experience. Atmosphere in the main restaurant is very nice. Food was solid as was the service and we felt that the price was appropriate for the value we got. Also, the bartender overheard that it was our anniversary, must have told the Manager and he brought us each a glass of Champagne in the house. Very nice touch! 👍
Outstanding food, service, and setting. The tuna crudo was bursting with flavors and pleasant surprises in every bite. The squash ravioli melted in your mouth, rich in flavor without being heavy. Delightful rose by the glass (and some killer french fries) topped off a delicious meal.
I had taken my girlfriend here for her birthday and was blown away with how beautiful and cozy this restaurant is. The Waiter and staff were wonderful and very polite. We had clams as an appetizer and they were on par with some of the best I’ve had. (New England has some great clams) and out entree’s were beautifully prepared as well as well cooked. Would 100% come here again.
Good food, good ambiance, but unhappy with the service experience. The bartender was rude. Didn’t greet us. Then told an inappropriate joke. Our dinner waiter was fine, but our dessert order was lost. Water glasses were not refilled. At a high end restaurant, top notch service is expected.
