This is my second time at Arthur's. I am still impressed the service is top notch. The food is literally the best thing to come in contact with my mouth. Just superb. I will keep coming back and recommending.
the service is uneven
our server tried very hard
my third time
the food choices difficult and over priced
on one occasion the server forgot prearranged birthday cake and then on demand sliced an ugly piece of cake and served with another cake
constantly necessary to remind servers about water refills
Have been here twice now and each time service is spotty. Drinks didn’t appear until after food arrived. Team appears keen to improve.
Super nice place with great service but food is super standard and prices are through the roof...$300 for breakfast for 4 people
Service was Fantastic! Annie was our waitress the length of time it took to get food to our table was BRUTAL! You guys really need to work on that!
Otherwise it was great!
Pros: Good quality food. Excellent service. Modern decor.
Cons: Loud dining room. Could have better value (ie. bigger portions or cheaper prices).
There’s a real buzz in the atmosphere. Lovely lounge as well. Eclectic menu.
It was wonderful but got very loud so we could only talk to the people beside us.
Ordered a pastrami sandwich which was very tough (and served on toasted bread which was a first). Too chewy and not cheap. No lager on tap. Not very satisfactory.
Always a pleasure! Yummy!!
We went to the restaurant to celebrate my birthday and there were only three other tables there that evening. The hostess after acknowledging my birthday sat us right in front of a table of 12 people with three young children. When asking our server about the seating choice she was quite benign about the arrangement and did not offer to move us. Food was fine and came in a timely manner however when my husband received the
Bill they had double charged us on every item!!! When I asked to speak to the manager the sommelier was the only one on that night who was unable to help. After two attempts to call and speak to the restaurant manager Kyle my phone call was never returned. I was emailed by someone who wanted to discuss my experience and then I never heard from her again after giving her my phone number to speak. I have eaten at all the Chase group restaurants and this was such a disappointment. In fact i was at planta and planta Queen this week and really enjoyed both as always. I have spoken to many people who have felt the same about their experiences.
Food value was very poor for the price paid. Meals came out tepid and one had to be sent back for being severely undercooked. Very disappointing experience from the Case Group
The front desk staff was so rude - should have gotten the hostess name but she really turned our group off.
Food and ambiance were fine but I thought the service was exceptionally slow - waiter was kind and polite even admitted to us that he didn’t pay as much attention to our table as he could have
We were well looked after here. The food and wine were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their choices. Loved the grilled
Branzino and liver. Also the tuna tartare appetizer was superb.
Would love it even more if it was a bit less noisy.
There is something missing in comparison to their other restaurants this could be a great spot the food is just ok all 4 of us said the same thing pleas make it better as BUCA is coming next door
Fabulous, love the restaurant. They need to do something about the noise.
Liver was not good at all, the waiter was meh
Food was amazing; beautifully decorated; the vaulted ceiling makes for a loud ambience which is a lot. The service is their downfall. Nice and polite waiter but never refilled our wine unless we asked... and only once our glasses had been sitting empty for quite a while. They don’t leave the bottle on the table. The mains took forever to come out.
Everything about the restaurant is amazing.
My boyfriend and I have been to Arthur’s a handful of times now and we absolutely love it! Amazing staff, amazing ambience, and amazing food. Would definitely recommend to all of my friends! :)
Not organized at all! Took awhile for a server to take our order. Coffees were cold! Order avocado and it was not ripe. Had to send it back. Food for average & lacking taste. Was not impressed at all! Been to the Chase Groups other restaurants and expected a higher quality of service and food. Highly disappointed.
Had a companion who drank to much and needed assistance and caused problems. The staff could not have been better in what was appalling behaviour by my guest!
It’s the second time I’ve been there once with my husband and the other with my sister in law. The restaurant is beautiful decor wise the server was fantastic but the service was way too slow, the food is just ok and the value is not there both times for 2ppl are bill was close to $400 without even drinking a lot of alcohol. I don’t think I will be going back.
Not loving the concept...didn't feel like the same standard as other Chase restaurants. Menu is odd for dinner...pastrami sandwich on dinner menu? Old school New York menu is not my vibe I guess. Maybe when the rooftop bar opens it might be a bit more enticing. Right now not sure I'd go back, not for food anyway.
nice decor. But that’s about it. All the dishes were disappointing.
Food and service were great. Restaurant very noisy
Last week we went and it was amazing. This week the server was nice but the service was terrible. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and the service was super slow. Ordered a hamburger and it came cold. Another person brought our our food and never saw our server again. Didn’t ask if we needed anything or if everything was ok. Forgot our drinks. Brought our bill and never came back. We left cash and left. Not a good night for this restaurant. Disappointing. Oh well. Won’t be going back again. To many other great restaurants in Toronto.
Brand new venture by an established group. They should know better. Huge disappointment. Tasteless Cheeseburgers, terrible veggie burger and a horrific Salmon scrambled egg dish served with sour cream. I guess I won't be back.
Such a fun place for Sunday brunch. Perfect combo of people watching and incredibly delicious food. This is exactly what Toronto was missing. Can’t wait to try this place for dinner and drinks!
Food and drinks were delicious, service was impeccable, and vibe was spot on
The food was excellent as was the service, but we found the noise level to be almost unbearable. We were a group of 4, and we had great difficulty hearing the conversation.
The restaurant needs some soft surfaces to absorb the noise.
Aside from that one major problem, we loved the restaurant.
We ordered wine. Took 15 mins to bring the bottle. After we got our meal, our waiter disappeared and we needed to waive the sommelier down to get our bill. Ended up going somewhere else for dessert since we were never offered anything.
The bus boy also dropped a plate on the floor right by our feet, splashed onto our pants and no manager or waiter care over to apologize or remedy the situation.
Food is also overpriced and tasteless.
Food is varied, excellent and well presented. Excellent cocktail selection. Highly recommended.
The food and service is fantastic!
A little heavy of price for what you get, one slice of rye toast on a plate, seems a little chintzy.
Service was great, we like to order in bits throughout the night - rather than all at once and they were very accommodating to that. We requested a quiet table and they couldn’t have put us in a better spot. The food was all delicious, and the cocktail menu was unique and vast. I will say it seems like the idea is to order a main, and a side or two to share (depending on how much you filled up on appetizers Lol). Didn’t bother us, but Something to note for others :).
They seem to be struggling. Probably opened before they had worked out all the kinks. Two in our party found their meal inedible. We ordered oysters to start that were delivered with our entrees after we had finished our salads! Liver was badly undercooked. Veal chop was overcooked. They had not yet installed their window coverings so we had a great view of traffic going by on Yonge...not what you expect for the price. It might all be cured in a few months but I would not go there now.
It's still early days as evidenced by the inexperienced servers. The menu looked interesting but our order was not up to a very high standard. Perhaps the operation
needs a few months to mature.
My visit to Arthur's was for a special occasion and at first glance, Arthur's interior and attentive staff promised to deliver on that. The dining room is beautifully appointed, and the furnishings speak to a modern but high end sensibility (not the fake cookie cutter variety). Where Arthur's failed for me was the food, and I should have seen it coming when presented with a deep vessel that carried 5 shards of flat-bread and a small ramekin of 'vegan' butter. This creation could not compete with the real deal in texture or taste (surprising since other Chase restaurants have the veggie alternatives figured out really well). The meal itself was just OK, and the finale of cherry jubilee missed it's flair as the flambe failed a number of times before it finally drizzled a bit of spark over the melting ice cream. Overall, Arthur's not the kind of place I'd make my regular go to in mid-town. It's pricey for the quality of offerings, and the groovy atmosphere gets old fast as you notice that your view of the street is signs for Scotia bank, CIBC, McDonald's and the TTC.
