Arte Cafe is a gem on the UWS always consistent. They have a great prefix and a lively bar crowd.
A neighborhood gen - good food - attractive surroundings - reasonable price - pleasant staff - hard to beat - we always enjoy
A good value. Service friendly Lenny, our waiter, was EXCELLENT and made the evening a most wonderful one!
I love Cafe Arte. It is the kind of neighborhood gem which you don't want to tell anyone about.
We don't live in that area but keep coming back to this terrific restaurant over and over. Great, value priced price fixed lunch menu never fails. Good for dinners as well as holidays. For years, we took the family for Christmas after a movie as they don't serve a different menu and is consistently good. My daughter says it has the best bolognese sauce (besides mine). I love their chicken piccata. There is nothing super fancy or creative on the menu...just well prepared, perfectly seasoned, Northern Italian food at very reasonable prices. I hate sharing this "secret"...sort of.
Had to send both orders of eggs Benedict back because they were like hard boiled eggs. Home fries were terrible. The choclate bomb dessert was terrible. Hard too eat. It’s presentation was a blob, not appetizing at all. I had eaten here on e before & has a better meal. Waitress was lovely. That was only good thing.
Sunday Brunch is terrific and great value. We had a very relaxed and enjoyed meal.
Food was great. The restaurant is beautiful inside. Prices are completely reasonable for brunch.
Food is very good including pasta and pizza. Great ambiance- a great neighborhood restaurant. Our server was clueless. Asked for our order without telling us the specials. Drink order was wrong and she struggled with English.
A great neighborhood go to.
Arte cafe always good. No matter the dish I order
The hostess staff and bussers are phenomenal, super attentive and hard working.
The pasta was cooked to a great consistency, the flavor of their red sauce was beautiful. My boyfriend's fuselli was wonderful and he enjoyed the main. I think the most exceptional part were the strawberries, the first salad on the menu is a perfect size to split and divine the goat cheese is a beautiful texture and plenty to enjoy with the salad and berries. The strawberries were perfectly ripe and I wish I knew where to find them this time of year!
The wait staff it was a little painful. Our server frequently disappeared and forgot things. My boyfriend ordered a red wine with dinner and he'd had a cocktail before. I had to ask a bussers when my bf was 50% finished with his meal for the wine. After 10+ minutes and as he ate his last couple bites the wine arrived. My boyfriend is not the quick eater out of the two of us. We had to ask a busser for the check etc and the server to my recollection did not check on us at all except for if we wanted dessert.
We will try again since we had a later reservation on Valentine's day for the above experience.
