Arte Cafe has been a regular for me for many years.
This was the first time I was a bit disappointed. I understand that things are difficult due to our Covid lives. But service wasn’t up to par (not the server’s fault as he was working hard to be attentive.) There weren’t enough servers. Food came cold. With such a large outdoor structure and indoor dining, it’s time to bring back staff. I will be back. Thanks.
First night out with friends in over 1 year! Wonderful.
I had a Easter Dinner reservation here with my girlfriend. We were seated inside next to a big table full of young children, very loud and screaming young kids, running around in the dinning room. It take 15 minutes to get the waiter to come to our table and great us and get our drink order and give us the menus after I had asked several time the busboy to get my waiter. This is unacceptable service at this high end restaurant on a Easter dinner. We had to beg for to be served and never the server or the manager came over if it was all ok or how is your food or service. Waiter absolutely not interested to serve us or explain the menus or offer us any specials or even try to up sale the menu. Food was dumped on our table by the runner of busboy like we are in a dinner. I had spent $170 for two on a service that is worst than Mc Donald’s, with a food quality which is belongs to a 1920 diner with out any food presentation on the plate. M Easter Dinner Celebration was completely ruined by uncaring waiters, cooks , chef and Managament . This is not the way to treat your customers during this pandemic times. It was my first and last time that I go to this restaurant. On top of this open table email me after my dinner that I was a no show on my reservation. I had to call the restaurant to correct they mistake and mark my reservation as arrived. I still tip 20% on the check, even that m girlfriend suggested not to fDo it.
A group of us (all vaccinated) decided to meet for Easter Brunch. The brunch menu was the usual. Food at Arte is predictable, well prepared and nicely presented. Decadent and delicious. As usual, service was friendly but as always extremely slow and rather disorganized. This has been the problem for years. If you are not in a hurry, and patient, it is always a good value. Arte has done a GREAT job in the back patio. Covid compliant, and actually really pleasant, unlike the average streetside huts set up all over the city. A nod to normalcy.
Nice outdoor dining space (street buildout and patio)
Love this restaurant.
Food is always good. And service as well.
We went early on a Sunday night. Seating was perfect for Covid rules. Waiter very attentive. Always a good bet.
Beautiful back room.
Consistently good and friendly neighborhood Italian
I've eaten here several times and it exceeds expectations every time. Great food. Attentive service. And the best outdoor space I've seen in the City.
Good was delicious. Back patio is very nice for outdoor dining. Wine was delicious and reasonable.
We had a birthday dinner in the back garden, which is outside, under a partial roof. It was a lovely evening, so it was much nicer. Service was attentive, food came hot, and we were very glad to have chosen Arte Cafe for the occasion.
It was lovely in their garden dining spot
great neighborhood place, out front, or in garden
Worst food I have ever had in my life. Service took forever. The quattro formaggi pizza tasted like actual SOAP. Have never experienced this in my life. The bolognese tasted like a tomato with parsley.
We reserve two tables one for the kids and one for the adults we asked to be put in the back area outdoors of the restaurant. When we came they refused to give us the two tables and they wanted to combine us with one table of six we were not happy about that
Fantastic dining experience
Mia was terrific. Great night. The restaurant and outside closed area looked terrific also.
Great food as always - sad that the ambience was lacking the buzzy bar and usual crowd which is such a part of the atmosphere at this great neighborhood restaurant, but hoping it will return!
So nice to dine indoors again at Arte Cafe. The tables were nicely spread apart, so it feels very safe. My mista salad, gnocchi and profiteroles were all fantastic as usual. The service was great as always. My new favorite Italian restaurant on the UWS.
Very good salmon and chicken—a bit pricier since the pandemic.
Amazing back patio brunch experience! An UWS-must.
Great place to eat especially during covid as they have ample room outside (under heaters) and inside. Food is great and fantastic value. Ambiance is wonderful! Love the back patio. Service is awesome. Enjoy!
Great outdoor set-up. Warm heaters and well-spaced!
Arte Cafe is an Upper West Side staple, meaning, it's dependable when it comes to the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the service. It's not going to "wow" anyone or knock socks off, but it's definitely the kind of place you can confidently bring family or work colleagues for a solid experience. Plus, they're one of the few places on the Upper West with a substantial backyard heated patio area that doesn't feel cramped and was lovely even before Covid.
The roasted salmon with spinach and side salad was excellent.
The waiter was not very nice but the busboys/servers were very nice.
The only other issue, sitting in the back, it was cold as the outdoor garden was open.
They followed protocols and distanced tables.
Keep your Open Table confirmation with you. Although I made the res and even called in the morning, The gentleman could not find the reservation.
Perfect neighborhood brunch spot with lots of brunch and Italian food options.
Perfect place to dine with friends during COVID. Great covered outdoor garden. Plenty of room between tables. I will probably only eat here until Dr Fauchi tells me otherwise.
I took my friend there for her birthday lunch. We saw inside and had a wonderful time. I have gone there before the insides of restaurants were open and we comfortably sat outside in the cold. They have heat lamps. We had the zucchini appetizer and a salad and shared fettucine bolognese. The meal was excellent. The staff was warm and welcoming, and when they found out it was my friend's birthday, they lit a flaming candle and gave us both free glasses of prosecco. I love going to this restaurant!
The food was great as usual. However the service was really slow. I think a lot of the restaurants in New York are trying to balance keeping a reasonable staff with increased demand for dining. That said they’re always really nice there. When you go, be sure that you don’t have any time constraints.
Always great service, great food and love the extra touch of blankets!!!
The food at Arte cafe was excellent. Service was a bit slow and the main room was cold because the door to the backyard dining space was left open. We requested a bottle of Prosecco but they didn't have any. It seems like it may take restaurants sometime to gear back up.
Heaters were good and social distancing good. Staff helpful
We felt very safe, warm, and the pizzas were delicious!
Very Clean and Spacious place, Italian Cusine 100%
LOVED THIS PLACE!
Arte Cafe is our place on the UWS.
The outdoor garden is warm cozy.
Food and service are outstanding!!!
A must try!
We ate indoors and social distancing was well enforced. Food was average. Service good. Dessert menu needs to be expanded. All in all a casual dinner.
Nice outdoor space in the garden got very loud when it filled up. Did not seem safe since everyone there was not wearing masks because they were dining and drinking. Several large groups were closely seated at crowded tables.
Aside from that, food was good and I would return at an uncrowded time.
