LOVE Arte Cafe! Great meal and service!
Family-friendly, excellent service, good value -- especially for the neighborhood.
We had a group of 10 with 4 kids and felt very comfortable at the restaurant. The eggs, steak and benedicts was good, the toast was really dry and stale and we had to wait a long time for butter. The servers were patient and pleasant.
Definitely one of my go-to places for a quiet and leisurely lunch with a delicious prix-fixe menu. Fabulous service and a great deal.
Outstanding food and service. A true bargain for NYC. Just wish the dining room was a little more updated!
Excellent service and the food was delicious!
Food is great a d authentic and we've been going for years. Our waitress was great but the bussers and other servers need more training. They were taking plates as we finished and made us feel rushed. Waitress made up for it but something for the restaurant to be aware of so they can fix it!
Service was horrendous from start to finish. The maitre d sat my friend at one table and me at another. She seemed to have no clue as to what she was doing. When I arrived, I asked her if the other party had arrived yet and she said no. Then she proceeded to seat us separately. When we told her she brushed it off
We were seated for 2 hours prior to going to a
Show at the beacon theatre which started at 9:30. We informed the waiter prior to ordering. The only thing that came was our appetizer. By 9:05 our dinner still wasn’t served. The waiter didn’t even apologize and proceeded to bring the food at 9:15, at which time we had to leave without eating.
Nit only that, you would think
that they would have offered to pay for our drinks but nothing!
Unprofessional, uncaring, rude.
Will never return and advise others to stay away.
We were happy the restaurant accommodated our group (7), agreeing to change from a rectangular table in a back room to a round table in the main dining room. The service was efficient and courteous. The food was good, although some orders were not quite accurate (angel hair pasta instead of the requested penne). Nice, moderately priced restaurant that worked well for a small family reunion.
Another enjoyable evening at Arte Cafe. Excellent food, friendly staff, great waiter, and a relaxed ambience makes this my go-to restaurant for a local night out. Even my hard-to-please mother had a good time. Well done!
I love Arte Cafe! It is my “go to”restaurant! Great food, affordable and the service is always great (except for one bartender who just shouldn’t have that job...he seems to not want to be serving anyone!). All other servers there are very friendly and attentive! The Management Team is also very attentive and on the ball! Thank you, Nebiyu, Luciano, Adriana, Leslie...
Overall Arte is still good value.
The New Year's Eve menu was good for its price, but they ran out of one of the deserts we picked as well as of bread. Service was slower than usual and by the time we left staff seemed too exhausted to greet us as usual.
In short, taking into account the volume of business that night, I think they still offer good value, but quality of food and service was uneven.
New Years Eve was the event, but it was chosen from past every day and generally positive experience. Restaurant wasn’t as well prepared for the rush as I’d have hoped, and suffered in quality and other dining experiences. But staff gets credit for trying!
Great nye prifixe. The portion sizes are huge and worth the money. They also provide a glass of Prosecco which was great!
The food was pretty delicious but the service completely blew me away. We were there with 2 little kids and the waiters were so attentive. Walking by and nudging silverware and glasses in from the edge before I even noticed.
Incompetent waiter got orders wrong. Spilled things
It was our family Christmas lunch. The staff was kind and made our experience very memorable!
The food is delicious but the service was terrible. We waited one hour for our entrees & the waiter seemed surprised when we asked him what happened to our food. Only 4 of the 6 entrees came out & 15 minutes later the other 2 appeared.
Brought our 8 month old and they were very accommodating. Great atmosphere for a family meal.
Arte Cafe accommodated my party of 14 people, including four children after The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center. We had a separate room with another large group which worked out well. The food was excellent and the service first rate.
Our server was particularly attentive to the children ages 6-8. When I booked the reservation, the manager called me immediately. Originally, I had reservations at a restaurant across from Lincoln Center; however, when I added guests to my list, the restaurant canceled on me unless I agreed to a fixed banquet menu and a beverage package for all my guest including the children. Crazy!
It's easier to hear your table in the room to the right - the room to the left is too loud. Also, there should really be a family vs. non family section - way too many unbehaved children running around. Excellent food & service though.
I live in the neighborhood and frequently dine at Arte Cafe but I must advise the dinner selections and presentation this week was really outstanding. This was far above the standard "good" rating that I have come to expect.
Being the holiday season the restaurant was very busy and had added additional tables in the main dining room plus opening the second area due to the number of patrons.
I hope that the excellent attention to detail in the menu continues.
Good food, service needs to improve. Big and noisy.
Loved it Felt especially cared for in spite of it being a crowded lunch time. Food great. Chicken piccata the best!!!
Wilson was great
My wife meal of ahi tuna was ok. My veal saltimboca was more like Marsala. Drink we’re good.
Love this place! The best! Food always great. Can accommodate small or large party. So pretty! Service god.
Good food in a nice atmosphere.
Note: service not good on Saturday nights
Note: sit in main room, if possible
Food was not at the usual, the pork chop parmigiana was dry, and the pasta side dish had too little tomato sauce.
Love Artie’s especially the fixed price lunch and weekday dinners. That said still great value for very good food at anytime.
Food was very good and reasonably priced but the service was a bit uneven. I will definitely return.
My experience here was terrible. I made reservations for 7:30, but when I arrived just at 7:35, they told me we’d have to wait 10 min. After waiting 25 min, we politely asked when our table would be ready, at which point the hostess was rude to us and gave us no indication of when we’d be seated. After 35 min, we decided to leave. We were treated very rudely by the staff and never got so much as an apology. Terrible service and incredibly rude staff.
Do not hold large birthday parties here! My friends and I were celebrating a 20th birthday party here and reserved because it was an Italian place that accommodated large parties. However, the service was extremely slow (had to wait 1.5 hours for food) and the servers were rude and spoke badly of our group near us. There are plenty of other overpriced Italian locations on the UWS with better food and good service.
Always great food and service, no matter how busy. One of my favorites in NYC...
Nice neighborhood restaurant with special menu from 12-6 pm weekdays.
Good service and ambiance .
Enjoyed the lunch!
Good food good service great neighborhood place for all meals
Great service, especially attentive with large groups and meeting type meals. Wonderful experience and convenient location.
Everything was good especially the food. The busboy was a little over zealous and needed to make sure we were finished with each course before taking the dishes.
