About Artango Bar & Steakhouse
Travel back in time to Argentina’s Golden Age – when Buenos Aires was booming with tango salons, nightlife, restaurants and opera houses. The cityscape was decorated with magnificent art nouveau and neo-classical architecture. The best bartenders from all over the world traveled south to the roaring saloons and nightclubs.
Experience the aura of the Golden Age through our décor: a blend of wooden bodegas, raw and recycled materials, marble, copper, and stone and concrete like the porteño streets. Metallic adornments and the hand-painted antique tin ceiling give a hint of Golden era glamour.
Artango's food goes back to Argentine roots, without compromising a contemporary touch. Local, fresh ingredients are used to create rustic, flavorful dishes. Try the best steaks in town using ancestral Argentine techniques. Enjoy a full bar with prohibition-era inspired cocktails, and a selection of classic and rare wines from Europe to Argentina.

Artango Bar & Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
The food was excellent. The server was very helpful at making sure that the food was safe for a member of our party with food allergies. But the service was VERY slow. It took an hour before we put in our dinner order. It seemed that the servers all had too many tables. The music was good, but quite loud, making it difficult to hear one another.
We went for New Years Eve live music and food. Food was good, but not outstanding, likely due to big crowd for New Years but being they were doing a prix fix menu, they should have had it perfect. Also problems with timing on the food. Kind of felt we were being rushed the food to get us out for the next seating. Pleasant staff. Great wines and drinks at the bar. Overall would return, but with appropriate expectations.
We have a reservation at 7pm for X'Mas. We came in at 6:30 and the hostess tried to sit us after 15 minutes but I refused to sit in the corner because we won't be able to see the band playing. We waited and waited, until around 7:30 we finally got the seats I pointed when she tried to sit us in the corner. It was a long wait, the first round of drinks was on her because she was apologetic when we waited so long to sit which was nice of her.
The food though, was ok, it was not super. Service was ok too, but disappointed that they did not offer regular menu. :( Overall, its good!
Although the duck we had was very good, there were a number of problems otherwise. We were there on Christmas night, with reservations. Although we were seated on time, it took nearly 15 mins for a waiter to show up. When we ordered a pre-dinner drink, we were told the bar was behind and it would take some time. When a restaurant is busy enough to be working full on reservations, they should know what quantities to expect, and have enough staff and inventory to cover. Additional problems were -- one of the Prix Fixe steak choices was no longer available @ 7:30 pm. Also -- both sides arrived pretty much cold. One other problem -- there was live latin music. They were not on stage when we arrived. When they finally did start, they played three pieces, then went on another break and were still not on stage when we left after an hour and a half.
Great friendly service with attention to please from the hostess to waiter to bar tender and busboy. Arrived very early for Christmas prix fix dinner but accommodated us quickly with drinks. 3 course dinner selections were varied enough to please and quite good at a decent price. Wine list was fair but we found a bottle to polish off. Definitely a place to visit again.
Our family of four enjoyed a fantastic late night dinner after a comedy show. Chose the restaurant since I was confident an Argentinean place would be good for a late dinner, and for nostalgia of a family ski trip to Bariloche a couple years ago. Even better than I had hoped!
Flavors were authentic -- with a memorable morcilla and a flank steak my sons declared the most tender steak they have ever had (and they have had many to compare to in the US and Argentina).
Neat architecture, paintings, and fantastic music created fantastic ambience.
Service was very good.
We'll be back!
Great experience overall from food to service! Only note is the restaurant didn’t look at my special request submitted when I made my reservation. However, the night was amazing and it didn’t matter.... just good to know for future reference. Carlos was an excellent server and the food runner who brought our meal was very nice too. Steak was cooked very well. Prompt drink and food delivery even though it was busy. Great first time experience. Can’t wait to return!
We were a party of four and I ordered the NY steak which was very good. It comes with three delicious different sauces. I got to taste the fish of the day and the chicken, both very good. The service was good and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It’s a very good place to go and have dinner.
We went for our anniversary. We looked at the menu on Open Table and saw the surf n' turf, and went there for that. When we got there however, we were told the menu had changed. It's on me to have not called to check first, but that was disappointing, and I wish the online menu had been kept up to date. The food we did get, the steak flight, was good, but it was more than we had planned to spend. Tasty cocktails, and a fun dance show. It was good for out date but too loud if you want to focus on the conversation.
The food was delicious, loads of options for vegetarians, not pricey. The venue is really pretty. The classical guitar trio were awesome. The service was perfect - they were attentive but did not interrupt or bother us as is too often the case.
My 6 friends and I had a fantastic evening!
Lively, fun evening overall. Great ambiance but expect to have trouble hearing your table mates talk on a weekend night. Great for viewing their entertainment, which makes ArTango really outstanding and special. Service was okay, if slightly rushed. Appetizers were outstanding. Select your meat carefully with the advice of a waiter, to truly understand differences. Fish is a fabulous choice here.
We have been there twice, once on a busy Saturday night and once on a slow Monday night. Both times the food was incredible and the service was good. We shared the steak flight both times and have tried most of the sides. Everything was fabulous! The noise level on Saturday night was loud, but vibrant and fun. The noise level on Monday was normal, but they did seat everyone right next to each other's tables. At first, this seemed annoying, but then became friendly and cozy after we settled in. We had a great time and again the food did not disappoint. Would highly recommend for a romantic date or anniversary and for something different, a gem indeed!
Went to Artango with my husband for our anniversary. Sophisticated, romantic and fun atmosphere. I had a mojito which was excellent in flavor and had the right amount of liquor. Beef and caprese empanadas were flavorful and made with a flaky breading which I like. Fish was delicious- came on a grill plate- and cooked perfectly. My husband enjoyed his ribeye with thick cut fries. It was all very delicious! Would definitely return.
