About Artango Bar & Steakhouse
Travel back in time to Argentina’s Golden Age – when Buenos Aires was booming with tango salons, nightlife, restaurants and opera houses. The cityscape was decorated with magnificent art nouveau and neo-classical architecture. The best bartenders from all over the world traveled south to the roaring saloons and nightclubs.
Experience the aura of the Golden Age through our décor: a blend of wooden bodegas, raw and recycled materials, marble, copper, and stone and concrete like the porteño streets. Metallic adornments and the hand-painted antique tin ceiling give a hint of Golden era glamour.
Artango's food goes back to Argentine roots, without compromising a contemporary touch. Local, fresh ingredients are used to create rustic, flavorful dishes. Try the best steaks in town using ancestral Argentine techniques. Enjoy a full bar with prohibition-era inspired cocktails, and a selection of classic and rare wines from Europe to Argentina.

Artango Bar & Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
The food was delicious, loads of options for vegetarians, not pricey. The venue is really pretty. The classical guitar trio were awesome. The service was perfect - they were attentive but did not interrupt or bother us as is too often the case.
My 6 friends and I had a fantastic evening!
Lively, fun evening overall. Great ambiance but expect to have trouble hearing your table mates talk on a weekend night. Great for viewing their entertainment, which makes ArTango really outstanding and special. Service was okay, if slightly rushed. Appetizers were outstanding. Select your meat carefully with the advice of a waiter, to truly understand differences. Fish is a fabulous choice here.
We have been there twice, once on a busy Saturday night and once on a slow Monday night. Both times the food was incredible and the service was good. We shared the steak flight both times and have tried most of the sides. Everything was fabulous! The noise level on Saturday night was loud, but vibrant and fun. The noise level on Monday was normal, but they did seat everyone right next to each other's tables. At first, this seemed annoying, but then became friendly and cozy after we settled in. We had a great time and again the food did not disappoint. Would highly recommend for a romantic date or anniversary and for something different, a gem indeed!
Went to Artango with my husband for our anniversary. Sophisticated, romantic and fun atmosphere. I had a mojito which was excellent in flavor and had the right amount of liquor. Beef and caprese empanadas were flavorful and made with a flaky breading which I like. Fish was delicious- came on a grill plate- and cooked perfectly. My husband enjoyed his ribeye with thick cut fries. It was all very delicious! Would definitely return.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience. We were fortunate to have amazing outdoor weather and to get a seat outside on a 70 degree night on Mid-October. The steak was incredible as to be expected of an Argentinian steakhouse. The fried potato wedges were fried to absolute perfection and the empanadas had a nice delicate crust. Well done Artango. Will defintely go back and bring all my steak loving friends and family.
Absolutely outstanding! There was a confusion with my reservation and by the time we arrived they were about to close because there wasn't another soul in the restaurant at the time. The server Katia met us at the door and went out of her way to seat us, even though they were just about to go home and she insisted we stay. We had full service of steak and cocktails and we were blown away by everything, it turned into one of the sweetest most romantic nights my girlfriend and I have ever had. We can't wait to come back to a packed house!
It was an amazing time! We were celebrating a birthday on the weekend and it just so happened that they had a Cabaret show that night! It was so entertaining! It wasn’t too loud, we enjoyed the atmosphere a lot! The customer service was great! Our waitress Cvete was so sweet and helpful and informative when she knew we’ve never been there before. Food was amazing! And drinks were also sensational! The Argentinian wine I tried was also very nice and went well with the steaks. We’re definitely making another trip, soon!
I had a great evening. It was my Birthday and I can not think of any better way to celebrate it. The right amount of entertaining, right level of music and noise so that we would be able to converse and catch up...the tango show the absolute star of the night!
I made this reservation because I wanted to impress a Jewish girl. [ The occasion was the break of the Yom KIppur fast] The musician [ Ian Maksin] I knew to be a marvelous cellist and he did not disappoint. The restaurant was packed with people having a good time and we fed off the energy. Service was excellent and the kitchen [ by that I mean the quality and diversity of the menu] had taken a step up from my last visit several months earlier. It was good then; its very very good now. My date loved it and we talked all night and ended up closing the place. Mission Accomplished
The food was great and the ambiance was cool, although the live music wasn't expected and took a while to set up during our dinner which was disruptive.
However, the service was just allover the place. Waiters kept losing track of who ordered what, and we had 2 different dishes brought to us that we did not order, they constantly were looking around , lost. The table next to us got their steak incorrectly cooked. When we were done with dinner we decided against dessert, but were just brought the check. We actually would have stuck around for another drink but were never offered ..
Finally, the lights kept going on and off, it was just a weird night overall..Too bad, because the steak was delicious.
We dined here on 9/23/17 to celebrate our friend's birthday. John, our waiter, took such good care of us - extremely attentive. The food was phenomenal. There was a terrific Brazilian jazz combo playing which made the evening even more special.
Can't wait to dine here again. Next time, must see the tango dancing.
On the evenings of a show it is highly recommended that you make reservations. It gets very crowded and busy during those night. Earlier arrival is recommended for better seating options, depending on what's available. Very good entertainment on those nights. The Ambiance and decor are very nice. Food and drinks were good. Service was a bit slow due to the entertainment that was going on and try to keep up with the guess trying to get in to get a seat
When we arrived I expected to see people sitting, ordering, & eating, but no. We arrived at about 5:30 , & we were the only ones for at least an hour. The restaurant never got busy. The food was good, imaginative, but not that tasty. The menu seems a bit overpriced. The service was excellent; Jorge did a nice job. The Tango dancing looked like fun; we just watched. No valet service , not good because we drove quite a distance & the neighborhood is crowded. I suppose that's because your not very busy during the week - Tuesday.
Your future may be bright if you entice locals, & they can afford $150.00 for two.
We don't know if we'll be back.
The food was absolutely amazing! Dinner is on the expensive side but the flavors explode from each dish making it worth it, to be sure. They also had live music on Saturday night and the musicians were phenomenal playing instrumental sounds uncommon to most dining establishments. The outdoor dining area is small but cozy and inside enjoy the vibrant bar or seating in the warm ambiance of the dining area. Just a really great place for amazing food, unique drinks, and a fun lively musical atmosphere.
Beautiful Summer evening sitting outside with a nice Rose and after the waiter recommended a very tasty Malbec. I had the Ahi tuna ceviche which was good it was presented on a salt block which looked nice until the tuna continues to cook and turned a not so nice shade of grey and salty. I prefer my tuna still pink. the non salty parts still tasted good they served a good sized portion, the pieces could have been cut a bit smaller though...I had a corn and cheese empanada which I shared with my baby and we both liked that quite a lot....the chimichurri could have used some more garlic, but just personal preference. I also had the half chicken it was nicely cooked, very tender could have used some salt in the seasoning....and I forgot to mention, the bread they serve is delicious. served warm crusty crunch on the outside, but not too doughy inside...didn't have room for dessert this time, but the menu had some great options...save it for next time...and another experience on the patio under the big red umbrellas
Great place ! First time at this place. Celebrated a birthday with friends, 6 of us . The steak platter dishes were absolutely fabulous. Great choice cuts of meat, flavor was very good and came with side sauces. Very Authentic Argentinian food. Spanish rice yummy. Music was great ! Guitarists ! Drinks were very good ! great drink menu, try the drink with a slice of red pepper in it.. Pretty good..
Service was good, but the waiter was slow to watch over us.. food was on time, but we could have had more to drink, but we had to keep asking for him to get more drinks.
The only disappointment was, no ICE TEA period. After a few drinks you want something like a cold brew tea. Never known a restaurant not to have ice tea in the summer.
Otherwise everyone, its a great place.. Nothing is always perfect , but this place is close to it and they work hard to please. Check it out !!
I made a reservation because there was a musician I wanted to see playing there and the place looked acceptable based on its website. The atmosphere was great, the music and food were excellent. They even accommodated a request to be seated nearer the stage after we were seated once. I would recommend this establishment.
My wife and I tried Artango on a hunch and enjoyed it so much we returned the next night with friends who enjoyed the food, pleasant and helpful staff, and the ambience.
Although we are not from the neighborhood we definitely will return for another delightful experience. Our waiter was fantastic.
This was our first visit. I've been planning to try Artango for many months now. Finally worked out. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in the door. The wine list was extensive and we went with our server's recommendation (a very nice Malbec). Had the Ceveche Trio and Carppacio and Empanadas for appetizers. All were great. Had the Steak Trio for dinner and it could not have been better. The entertainment was very enjoyable. We will definitely be back often.
