Artango Bar & Steakhouse
An evening at Artango feels as if you’ve traveled to Buenos Aires, and guests have the opportunity to enjoy authentic imported Grass-Fed Argentinian steaks prepared by Executive Chef Saul Roman.
Roman’s selection of 120 day wet-aged, grass-fed black angus beef cuts are grilled on an Argentinian parrilla at a slightly lower temperature and for a longer period of time – similar to the Patagonian method of barbecuing crafted by Buenos Aires-born celebrity chef, Francis Mallmann.
Chef Roman finds the Argentine cuts to be lean, tender and full of flavor.
Pair your meal with Prohibition-era cocktails and both classic and rare European and Argentine wines.
Dining at Artango is a memorable journey to Argentina.

Shortage of staff so waiting 25 mins to get someone to serve you was too long. Luis was another server (bc regular server could NOT manage his tables) who was great & took our drink order than our food order. Food was NOT well received y 3 out of 6 people. Paella was bad after a couple of bites by friend said it was not hot & too fishy tasting as well as over seasoned…too salty. Steak was NOT rare & had big piece of gristle & the 3rd friend couldn’t eat her French fries bc very overly salted & seasoned.
Overall experience, food, and service were great! The only complaint, which is a very small one, is that our waiter told us to order early becuase it took awhile to get the steaks out and the steaks came out very quickly which for us didn’t give us enough time to enjoy our apps and we felt rushed. I should’ve asked the waiter how
long it would actually take but also mention that we want some time in between meals to enjoy the meal and our cocktails. Definitely will be back again!
The drinks, food and live music made the evening a great experience. We had so much fun with the music. The service however, is lacking. Be prepared for longer wait times, having to order all your courses up front and for zero flexibility. The other parts of our night made up for the lack of service for my husband and me. Others in my party, not so much.
Empanada Appetizers and the Provoleta were great starters. Margaritas good also. The steaks all had great flavor and the fish good also. Fun atmosphere. Live music also. We have been there many times and it never disappoints. Highly recommend
The food and cocktails were incredible, but the service was abrupt and almost disconcerting. I was immediately apprehensive when we arrived for our 6:30 reservation and immediately after pointing out the QR code menu our server asked if we wanted something from the bar. Yes, of course, but we haven't even seen the menu yet? Unfortunately it only got worse from there- it was VERY clear that the server had been told to get us in and out and I simply was not having it. I don't believe it was the server's fault, it was clear that management was breathing down everyone's neck, but in that case this place needs to decide if it wants to be a date night spot where people relax and spend money or if they want to turn tables quickly. I knew what was happening and wouldn't have it- I am not making a 6:30 res and planning to leave at 7:30, and if a restaurant is expecting that it's their problem not mine. We were gone by 8:15, which is a very reasonable amount of time to spend at a 2 top for a $250 meal. Again, the food and drinks were very good, but they clearly do not know what they're going for and I felt pretty unwelcome several times during my meal.
Food was fine. I didn't really have complaints with the food. Caprese empanadas were special. Steak was cooked as ordered and good, although a bit salty. Ceviche and chicken were meh.
But the service was so bad. QR code for a menu, which, fair enough, but it was so small on my phone I could barely read it. When I asked for a paper menu they acted like I was a martian and only brought one menu for the whole table. They literally brought the menu and immediately asked me what I wanted. It was so blatant that they were trying to turn the table over from the very moment we arrived. Another example: We had an appetizer plate with a few morsels on it. The waiter asked if he could take it and we said no, were going to finish it. Within two minutes, two more servers came by for the same reason. The third one just took it without asking. The whole night was like that. It really ruined the experience.
Also, it was incredibly loud. Don't go if you're hoping to have a conversation.
Very disappointed that the band we had traveled to see was not there.
Expensive but great experience
Waitress named something with L
I forgot her name was great, very kind and outgoing. I was waitress myself so when I go to the restaurant I expect great service and L deffinitely provided it for us
All the best to her
The food was fabulous! My guest chose Filet mignon.. it was med rare as ordered and melt in your mouth quality. I chose the half chicken w/fingerling potatoes. Very delish. I’m a huge veggie person so we also had sides of grilled asparagus & the broccolini… excellent!
Decor & lighting created perfect ambiance. Even the actual dishes were perfectly selected to match the decor & authenticity.
Our waiter was a perfect match for us. Attentive but not overbearing; knowledgeable of menu selections; courteous and positive demeanor, he also had great recommendations.
We WILL definitely be back!
Great but the room is really loud. I have perfect hearing but it was difficult to hear over the music and the general ambient noise.
This was our second time at Artango and we've enjoyed it both times. The food is delicious and the ambiance is great. I love the live music too, it really adds to the dining experience. We can't wait to come back!
Very fun celebration with the wife and in-laws. Good food, exciting live music, awesome service. Shared a couple bottles of Malbec and gorged on ceviche and beef. It was the kind of night we sorely missed during Covid and will gladly go back again soon!
Ceviche and provoleta were outstanding. Steak flight had excellent flavor. Unfortunately, one of the cuts had a lot of tough grissle so the entire piece couldn't be eaten. Admittedly disappointed that the asparagus side only had 10 quite thin stalks of asparagus, which while tasty, we had split between 3 of us. This restaurant like others seems to be short staffed, as initially the service was great, but our second round of drinks ordered with dinner didn't arrive until we were almost finished with our meal. I do love the ambiance and live, sexy Spanish guitar music.
The food was mediocre at best for the price. We also ordered a steak plater for two plate and didn’t get all that was described on the menu for that platter. The restaurant also passes on the credit card surcharge on to customers which is not convenient. Tried it once, but won’t be going back.
Beautiful date night. Entire Lincoln Square area is so cool. Atrango has an amazing vibe; tasty cocktails and the ceviche, beef empanadas, and paella are awesome. Wish they had live music on Saturdays, but otherwise really good!
This was our first time at Artango. We were surprised to see a surcharge for using a credit card at a restaurant at this price point.
Went here for a birthday celebration, it was the perfect intimate setting, with beautiful traditional love music. Tasty food cooked exactly how ordered.
Food was delicious. Staff was friendly. Drinks were awesome. We had a good time.
This is place is so beautiful and the food is amazing!
Only saw our server twice. Had no plates or Utensils while our dinner stared at us for 10 minutes. Steam was over cooked and sides were bland. Drinks were dynamite as was the atmosphere. Really wanted this place to be good. But for 200$ def not worth it.
Good and ambiance were great, especially the guitar music and flamenco dancing. However, service from the waiter was sporadic and sometimes he would not show up for an up to an hour. Overall, we had a very good experience.
Great food and service. It was a little hard to speak and hear a conversation over the live music. Other then that, great place to go for a 5 star dinner and the price matched the quality.
Amazing food, service, and ambiance!
Meal was great. Only problem was the waiter mixing up our bill with another table.
Horrible service. It took 45 minutes to serve the drinks and when it arrived it was not the ones we ordered. They keep bringing food in our table and keep asking us if we ordered them. I ate ahead of my husband, and his food came an hour later. Will not recommend.
Good restaurant, good food. You’re not getting the big steakhouse caliber steaks, but the next level down. Steaks were solid, paella was excellent, as were the cocktails.
Service was a touch slow, but I’m inclined to give any restaurant a break on that at this stage of reopening.
Really nice atmosphere. Decor is an artful combo of industrial and South American.
Biggest complaint was no air conditioning on what was a humid, if not hot, evening. It was uncomfortably muggy.
This may have been the worst experience I have EVER had at a steakhouse. After going to multiple steakhouses in the chicago land area, I am thoroughly disappointed with the service of this restaurant. First, as we got seated at the booth under a vent, it was leaking on top of us. We requested to be moved, ans were moved under another leaking vent. Not to mention the fact that we had to take out dishes ans water with us by ourselves? They also denied there being anything wrong. Later, as our waiter was taking our order, he left in the middle of our order and went to take the order of two other tables!. I asked the manager to bring him over and we ended up waiting 30 minutes just to place an order! And waited over 70 minutes for our food. The food was subpar for the amount of challenges we faced at this restaurant. It’s also important to note that we were some of the ONLY people of color at the restaurant and were being treated with NO respect. And to top it all off, this embarrassing restaurant charges you the credit card transaction fee. That’s just pathetic. Not worth your time or money. Go to Mastro’s Or Capital grill. Way better options.
So happy this neighborhood gem managed to stay in business. While a little pricey, always makes for a romantic & memorable experience. Live music, creatively played with a violin instead of singing was energetic & satisfying.
From start to finish… Everything was fabulous! The staff, the meal, the wine! Everything was wonderful —highly recommend!
The food was good. The music was good. The restaurant is cute. The waiter couldn't understand us very well, communication was an issue. Over all it was nice
We went for Fathers Day dinner. The steak flight was very good, each piece was flavorful. The sides were very good and worth it. Service was the best, very attentive to our table. Overall, we had an excellent experience.
We've been to Artango several times in the past and really enjoyed it but not this time. There were 4 of us and the service was very slow, took forever just to get a drink order in, then took forever for the drinks to arrive. Really wasn't that busy either and our server was not very attentive and didn't know the menu very well so getting recommendations wasn't going to happen. We all had the the steak trio, medium rare but the meat was tough, grissly, and overdone. On top of that, our server forgot to bring my wife's after dinner cocktail and after she reminded him, he later brought it, just about when we were getting ready to leave. That drink should have been comped but it wasn't and on top of that, he charged us for an extra glass of wine we never ordered.
I know things are tough with restaurants ramping back up and servers in short supply after the pandemic but cmon....Maybe just put a big sign on the door that says we ought to reduce our expectations for good food and service. Our tab out the door was about $90 per person which I don't mind as long as it's great, but it wasn't. I doubt I'll be in a hurry to go back there.
First time at this restaurant and we have to say, what a great experience. The food and service is great, the ambience and live music was definitely a plus. We decided to experience their 3 course Argentinian experience, we glad we did. A must trying ever in the area.
This restaurant has really improved! Everything is great! Wonderful service and wonderful entertainment along with a great meal. The cocktails were excellent. And it’s vegetarian friendly from my point of view since I am a vegetarian! I highly recommend this place.
Always a great experience here. Great food, music, and atmosphere!
The restaurant created an amazingly romantic evening!
One of my favorite places.
The restaurant was very hot. It was 86 degrees outside and they did not have the air conditioner on. I was very uncomfortable. The service was great. The food was good. The bill had a 20% surcharge which was 38.00 and a 3.00 soda tax. The server said the surcharge was because we are using a credit card and he could not explain why the soda tax was on the bill. When we questioned him he adjusted the food items to reflect the actual total of the bill but the charges were still on the bill. He related that it was corporate and he could not take them off the bill. We were charged regular Chicago tax for the full amount. We have been coming here for years. The restaurant was full. They can not justify the charges they put on the bill. They are trying to gouge their customers to make up for the covid loss. We were going there during covid. Our average bill is 250.00 every time we go. They have lost a loyal customer and much more money than the charges they tried to slip in the bill. Everyone beware of what they are charging you.
Good food, drinks👌🏼and awesome staff!
