One of the best meals I have had out in a long time regardless of the cuisine! The assorted breadbasket is a fantastic way to try a bit of everything. We will definitely be going back often.

We had a wonderful dinner here. The Indian food was taken to a higher level but still kept the integrity of the cuisine. The mushroom appetizer wrapped with the shredded phyllo and the chicken appetizer were delicious. The shrimp curry was outstanding and lamb biryani excellent. We ended meal with the lemon sponge cake for dessert. Henry our waiter was very helpful with his recommendations. Max the bar tender also deserves a shout out for his recommendations for cocktails at bar before dinner.

It's perfectly fine, but it's nothing special. We enjoyed each of the dishes (save the chicken tikka masala, which was not particularly good), but at the end of the day, particularly given the hype (and it being a bit pricey), it was a bit of a let down. But if you're in the mood for Indian, it'll be a good dinner, so don't hesitate. Just don't be expecting something from the Michelin review or something special.

This was our first meal back from our honeymoon and our server Henry was an absolute delight! The food, the drinks, the ambiance were all fantastic! Can’t wait to go back! Get the smoked eggplant or the lamb biryani extra spicy! If you’re getting dessert definitely get the coppa pistachio!

I had high hopes for this restaurant. But my disappointment began when I was informed they ran out of butternut squash for one of their signature vegetarian dishes, which I was looking forward to. How do you run out of a basic vegetable? I mean can't you just send someone to a grocery store down the block? Also although I know okra can be challenging to cook I found mine rather stringy/fibrous and was underwhelmed. The interior seating of the restaurant is cramped and packed like an airliner, with only one center aisle that can get very congested. What saved the day a little bit was the mushroom appetizer, and also the visual presentation of the food and cocktails. At this price point, I would not recommend Aroqa over the very many other options for indian food in NYC including Baar Baar, Junoon, and Indian Accent. Again a Michelin recognized restaurant should not run out of a basic vegetable. I don't plan to return- guess I never will find out how their squash dish tastes.

It's not too fussy - just simple delicious Indian food the way it's made at home with a little finesse expected from an upscale restaurant. The paneer tikka masala is on the sweeter side and caters to the non-ethnic palate perhaps. Cocktails are innovative and refreshingly delicious. Serve staff are friendly and efficient. The place is cozy but with an upscale feel. Definitely recommend.

Food was very good but portions are small for the price. We were a party of 4 and all the appetizers had only 3 pieces so we had to pay extra to add a 4 piece to each appetizer. $16 for 3 pieces of cauliflower seems a little steep.

We enjoyed our dinner at aRoqa very much! We reserved a table outdoors and were welcomed by an attentive and friendly staff. We enjoyed the delicious and carefully curated food and drinks at the restaurant and were served promptly and professionally by Sebastian our waiter. We will definitely be returning soon!

Very dark atmosphere. Staff not familiar with the cuisine, can not answer any questions or did not want to. Plus not pleasant at all, no one even smiled at us the whole evening. Seemed like they were paying me to be there instead of the other way around. Food was bland...missing basic salt, acidity..etc.

We had no idea what to expect from this restaurant because we selected it based on the location. I was beyond pleasantly surprised and would definitely return. The restaurant has a cozy and modern feel to it. It was busy and obviously popular. The food was very delicious and the portions were perfect; not really enough left over to take home which is different from many restaurants that serve cuisine from India. The service was perfect and we were able to be seated and leave within an hour and 15 minutes, which is what we needed. Will definitely return to this Chelsea gem!

The service was wonderful and the tikka masala was possibly the best I have ever had. I considered getting one to go even though I was already stuffed. The rest of the meal was tasty and interesting twists on recipes. I recommend it highly.
