Wine tasting lunch
The food is freshly prepared, and delicious. Limited menu, but during the weekday we had the place to ourselves. There was a substitute wine pourer that day, but she was friendly, and entertaining. She just didn't know how to check us in on OpenTable. The food is pricey, but average for wine tasting rooms in that area.
I took my husband and brother to lunch here after picking up our wine club shipment at a nearby winery which does not serve meals. On entering, we informed the young lady, who we later learned was the owner’s daughter and had worked there for 7 years, that we were ready to eat. We asked to go directly to our table, as we had just finished a wine tasting. She stopped us at their bar and said, “That’s not how we do it here.”
She began to pour their wines (I declined as I was driving) and continued through an entire tasting, which tasting had NOT been requested by either my husband or brother. Neither was impressed with any of the wines poured.
During the tasting, the hostess indicated that their winery was the “only winery in the area where all Cabernet grapes are dry-farmed.” I guess that this line is used for individuals inexperienced in Paso Robles wines, as virtually all grapes in this area are DRY-FARMED. We mentioned this comment to our favorite vintner who merely scoffed!
The hostess then sat us outside on the patio where we had a nice lunch. The chicken salad sandwich was very tasty, as was the carrot cake that we shared for dessert.
When I received the bill, I was dismayed. Another reviewer has noted that it was disingenuous to be charged for 2 waters (about $5) that were seemingly offered, but then appeared on the bill. Well, how about being charged $30 for 2 wine tastings that were definitely neither asked for nor enjoyed? We did get 1/2 off our waters!
As the facility was busy, I did not want to make a scene. Merely put this on my list of “do not returns”. I guess that they need to cover their costs by insisting that you taste something you don’t want/explicitly state that you don’t want and then don’t enjoy. NEVER again!
Second time visiting and it was just as good as the first. Fresh food, wonderful wine and great service. The owners really take pride in their work and it shows. We would recommend AronHill for wine and food or just wine or food!
It’s delightful- enjoy!
The special chicken salad sandwich and special salad of the day with beets, feta and spicy pecans were excellent. This is a great place to wine taste and have lunch.
Such good food and always very accommodating. Everyone is very friendly.
Excellent food! Wine and Service!! love this place, highly recommend for lunch or for a cheese plate to go with wine tasting
Great food in a beautiful spot. You can wine taste while you eat.
We loved the outside patio area. The view was amazing. The only things that threw it off was the amount of people that was in that small space and the time it took for our order to be taken and for the food to come. Our reservation was at 11:30 and we only got our food around 12:45.
The owner at the bar greeted us was not very friendly and was curt with us. She incorrectly described the sandwich we ordered to us though it was good it was not what we thought we were getting. And when we asked for water to go with our tasting she offered us two water bottles and later we saw there was a charge for them on our lunch bill. I felt that was deceitful and unprofessional- our waitress was good and very friendly and heard our complaints but I’m not sure she passed them along. The view and weather were great but it was not the most hospitable place on our visit to Paso Robles (I was even an ex-wine club member so I was super disappointed in the service).
OMG, you have to try the charred romaine caesar. The best anchovy dressing ever. They should bottle it.
Everything was amazing! Thank you!
Owners are a delight, it's a small boutique winery with some small bites.
The owners were wonderful! On top of the great wine and service, they sat us in a private room to accommodate two extra in our party! They made us feel extra special! Lunch was delicious and we all purchased wine also. We will be back!😁
Outstanding food! Loved the cheese and charcuterie board and the wines paired perfectly with it. Friendly servers and a great view.
We had an incredible experience from start to finish. When we arrived we were promptly acknowledged and greeted.
Before lunch we had a wine tasting in their beautiful tasting room and the wines were FANTASTIC.
Lunch was served on the patio that sits up on a hilltop overlooking vineyards; It felt like we were in Tuscany.
The burrata toast, pear and pesto sandwich, and bacon and Brie burger were fresh and prepared perfectly.
Our overall experience was amazing and we will make this a regular stop on our trips to Paso Robles.
Loved the burger! View and service were delightful! A beautiful find in Paso Robles! :)
Salad was good fresh greens with a light vinaigrette. The turkey sandwich was dry. Great view to the hill across rt 46. Restaurant overlooks 46, so cars and traffic noise do exist. The patio was still a nice location. But the food and wine were just adequate.
