Tried and true Italian Restaurant that has weathered the financial crisis, the city's crisis and now the Pandemic. Enjoyed watching everyone pitch in to serve a crush of diners, sometimes hectic but you weren't forgot. Good food and drink. Enjoy!
Service was very good, but food was mixed.
Drinks served were not correct. (second glass of pinot noir was a different variety than the first glass, and a Jack Daniels order was served a Johnny Walker - not a huge problem, but for the price you expect things to be correct)
Four of us ordered 2 different veals, and 2 different fish dishes. The veals were both very good, as well as one fish, but the fish special of the day was not only not particularly fresh, but was likely not the species of fish listed.
It was a perfect place to spend my husband’s and my last evening in NYC. It started with a perfect margarita and vodka martini, followed by a good menu…the antipasto platter and veal choices were delicious…and an excellent wine list. We loved the Baked Alaska for dessert. Service was excellent and the dining room was very pleasant. We plan to return next time we are in NYC.
We went there pre-theatre, and my wife was very late, so we had a tight time squeeze. The staff were incredibly accomodating and helpful in getting us served quickly. Thje entire staff was very friendly and efficient. When my veal came it was like melt in your mouth butter - delicious. My wife's chicken was excellent as well. The ambience is very old school heavy wood Italian restaurant decor, and could use a redo. Other than that it was excellent, and I would definitely go back, especially for pre-theatre, given the location.
We enjoyed it - healthy portions. Food was very good.
Baked clams were excellent - pasta solid
Worm feel always
Definitely will make a reservation the next time I’m in NYC.
Arno was an amazing experience! The food and service were exceptional!
Our server was curt and commented (negatively) on everyone’s order. The place was not busy, but the service was not very attentive. Food was ok.
Realy good food and servise
First time dining here. Will definitely go back.
Reliably excellent Italian food in Midtown. Recommended.
Excellent food very well prepared with extremely professional service
Quiet, good service,
We love Arno! It is one of our favorite restaurants. The food was excellent.
Arnos is my go to Italian Restaurant in midtown. They do a wonderful job and always make us feel like we’re at home!
Hands-down best Italian restaurant in Manhattan!
We were warmly greeted on Monday night and seated by the window in their beautiful bar.
Our server, Cornelio, remembered us from previous visits to NYC albeit the last time more than 17 months ago because of the Covid pandemic.
We started with a fabulous pinot noir from Oregon.
The tri-colored salad that my wife and I shared was fantastic. My business colleague loved the corn, red bean and spinach soup as an appetizer.
Our entrees were amazing: veal, chicken and snapper. Each was exquisitely prepared and presented with sauces that were oh so flavorful.
We enjoyed another Oregon vineyard’s pinot noir for dessert.
If you get the chance to dine here you will thoroughly enjoy it!
Look forward to dining here again on our next trip to NYC in late September.
The restaurant was empty at 700p which was a concern. It slowly added customer. The wait staff and Maitre’ D were all very attentive, yet we felt rushed. Food was ok, good but nothing extra special. We had clams as appetizers, small yet tasty. Melon and prociutto. I had Linguini Fruitta de mere. Was tasty and good portion. I received parmigiana cheese, via bowl, not graded. Atmosphere was nice, much larger dinning room, but set nicely and clean.
Wonderful food and service as usual ! This is one of the my favorite restaurant restaurants. Every menu is good ~ original Italian mama’s taste!
When I called, they were very friendly. First impression, good.
When we arrived, the bar area was inviting! The dinner, from start to finish was perfect. Now we have to say, the food was excellent. The shrimp with light tomato and white wine was absolutely fantastic! Carlo was helpful with the wine selection, I asked for a wine in a certain price range, and he brought the perfect bottle! Couldn’t say enough positive things about our dinner here!
Great place, great food, happy staff! 👍🏼
Food was delicious and service was great!!
We had a great time. Food was excellent. Highly recommend the Ceasar salad and chocolate mousse cake. Made a great memory.
Fabulous food and service. Amazing red snapper.
Excellent food and courteous service. Would recommend this restaurant for authentic Italian food.
We went during COVID just an hour before closing. Restaurant was very quiet with few guests. We believe that this was because both Google and Open Table said they closed at 8 pm (we had a 7:45 pm reservation and they were definitely open). And with all the scaffolding all over the place in NYC, it's hard to spot that it's open. That said, we had a lovely traditional dinner with salad, tortellini bolonese and veal parmesan. The food was very good, the wine excellent and the service above par. What you would expect from a white table cloth restaurant
Food is not good even though it's a nice place, overpriced n indifferent service
Arno was a great place and we will definitely be dining there again. The food was great and the service was amazing.
Excellent food and service, a hidden gem. I would definitely dine here again.
I have to say with all the Italian restaurants in NYC how I picked this one is unfathomable. It was a horrible experience. We arrive to an empty restaurant. Thinking awe It’s still the effects of COVID. Not the restaurant. Two of our guest were already seated next to the entrance of the kitchen. Not a good location for any seating in a restaurant, no less one that’s empty. I did not want to make our guest move. Things just continued to go downhill. I order a bottle of wine. The server (owner or manager) said oh let me pick your wine. No thank you I would like this one. No, no he said. I’ll bring you something else. Seriously... he brought a really cheap version of my pick. Said he would match the price. I said no thank you. I’ll choose another. Once he finally poured our wine he wanted our dinner order right then. He said the kitchen was closing This was at 7:30pm we had a reservation. We order shortly. Our food was delivered within 8 mins. The meal was terrible. While we are eating we could hear noise of a big party and the strong smell of cigars coming from the other side of the kitchen. Not the dining room. When we asked if he would please close the door from
the kitchen due to the cigar smell he just ignore our request. It was our sons 25th birthday party. This restaurant ruined what was to be special. Only go to this restaurant if you want to be extremely disappointed. The restaurant owner - manager had a party for themselves that we were interrupting. Why not just call to cancel our reservation then to ruin our special evening so they could have their party. This was not a cheap place.
With this type of service and food. They should be out of business. And not receive any of the simultaneous help.
So wonderful to have Arno back open! The dining room is beautiful and the food is just superb. And the service is among the best in the city. Very reasonable prices for the quality. You won't be disappointed!
Service, food, wines are all fantastic! It is great to have you back.
Came here for a date with my boyfriend. The restaurant was pretty empty. There may have been 2 or 3 other tables including ours. Covid restrictions were still in effect. Food was amazing and can’t wait to go back!
The food was excellent I had sole it was delicious cooked perfectly Carlos selected the perfect wine to go with it
Even dining in the street, service was good... food was spot on
Sorry not much ambience eating outside on the street
Great place for pre-theater dinner. Attentive wait-staff with delicious food and good wine!
Good tasting food but Hot Appetizers were served room temp to cold. Very disappointing.
Great for a business lunch. Fab food. Attentive service. Fascinating specials.
Food is always good; waiter was a bit inattentive; and very loud. Not good for business conversation
Love the corner table! And the on-street parking is a huge plus... perfect dinner...excellent all the way around!
