Arnette's Chop Shop
The restaurant’s interior was created to compliment the industrial modern design movement, exposing the natural character of the reclaimed warehouse while blending vintage, classic and modern design influences.
The restaurant is split into two levels. The dining room is appointed with custom wood and leather booths, banquettes and tables. The main level also boasts an open kitchen complete with a custom built wood burning and open flame hearth and charbroiler.
The lavish upscale bar is positioned on the second level above the main entrance and dining room. The bar has a contemporary yet warm den style ambiance with a open air terrace. The ceilings are low and the walls are adorned with paintings of famous musicians of past and present.
We were seated upstairs in the bar instead of in the actual restaurant. We didn’t realize this until too late. This was not a great start as I was with my in laws and they had trouble carrying a conversation with the loud bar vibe. This, however, was not the issue. We couldn’t get any service, at all. They were so over committed that it was 45 minutes before we were able to place a drink order and a hour 45 minutes before we got our appetizers. Neither of these times is an exaggeration. (We never indicted that we needed additional time either, we were ready to order within 5 minutes of being seated.) the service that we did receive was very attentive and they both knew what they were doing, (our server called in another server to assist as he was so in the weeds), the issue was clearly a management staffing problem. A manager was going to each of the tables around us asking how they were doing and never once stopped by our table.
For a special occasion meal with my in laws this was just embarrassing.
The food was excellent, especially the king crab. But, for the price that service has no place and I would never return.
Delicious new steakhouse with great atmosphere and service. Enjoyed a wonderful Pino Noir off their nice wine list. Party of 5 had steaks, seafood and several sides that were all very good. We’ll be back!
As you approach Arnette's you see an active valet line that is manned by very competent and polite young men. They dispatch the guests quickly and pull the cars away ready for the next customer. The setting is a neat and attractive industrial type building that is actually a very upmarket restaurant and office space. The interior of the restaurant consists of a patio with tables neatly arranged. It is not a small space and the tables are far enough apart to allow for private conversation. The first thing you see as you enter is a high, wide staircase that is canopied with large, curved pieces of wood meant to, abstractly, represent a rib cage. The ground floor consists of an open kitchen and and tables with a very large painting of a Texas longhorn. Up the stairs is the bar. This space has comfortable tufted booths and tables. The bar is inside/outside with the outside portion a covered patio with overstuffed chairs and cocktail tables. It was crowded and buzzing. Nice looking folks well dressed. Displayed on the walls are about 10 large paintings of rockers all painted by the same person, lit and easily recognized. These, along with the piped in music, set the atmosphere. The place is very well designed.
First we had cocktails at the bar. The bartenders and wait staff are quick and efficient. Everyone is busy. The signature drinks were very good and also strong. Just the way we like them.
As you can see from the menu there is a wide choice of beef, fish, pricey caviar and some other interesting and unique items. I had beef and my wife had the king crab. Both were very good, cooked well to our order. I don't think you can go wrong with the sides as they are just what you would want them to be if your having a heavy steak or fish. Overall the food is very good. That coming from us is saying something as we are big complainers and very fussy. Our server, David, did everything he was supposed to do very well. Go. Now. It's going to get busy.
Fantastic Fathers Day celebration. The outdoor seating combined with beautiful weather and the food was excellent. Always a favorite!!
Took my family here to celebrate Father’s Day. Our server name was Tiffany. She was great! She was very informative on everything we ask about on the menu. We had the filet, king strip, tomahawk and sole with some shareable sides. Everyone was very pleased with what they ordered. The food was plentiful! 3 of us ordered dessert, which was delicious as well. My husband definitely enjoyed his Father’s Day dinner! We also got a knife membership which was awesome 😀. We look forward to going back!
Brought my Father, uncle and grandad here for Fathers Day and it was awesome. The food was very good and the ambiance is very nice as well. I would recommend this place for special occasions. Sit upstairs if you can.
First, I must say that while our experience with regard to food and service was disappointing, the response from the management, and in particular, Michael Arnette, the owner, was beyond outstanding. Michael was gracious and exceptionally generous in his offer to make things right for us.
That said, in all candor, the server was disinterested, and the service was choppy. But most significantly, the steaks were a horrible disappointment. We have dined at Chops, Bones, NY Prime, Little Alley, Pampas, McKendricks and Kaisers, and from this experience, those restaurants have nothing to be concerned with as far as competition from Arnette’s.
I actually feel badly to report this, considering how apologetic and remorseful Michael was towards us, but, I just cannot ignore our culinary experience there.
I am hoping our time there was a ‘one of’, an aberration, and certainly would encourage others to try Arnette’s for themselves.
Great Food, Great Portions, Ambiance is beautiful. The space is unique and gorgeous!! Nice wine list.
This is truly a neighborhood gem. The food and service are outstanding. Michel Arnette has checked in on us several times while dining. Ideal for a business dinner or couples dinner in Brookhaven.
Just as delicious as the first time! Best steak house in town!
We went there for my fiancé’s birthday dinner. As soon as we walked in we were greeted like family. The hostess wanted us to sit at a booth (it’s her favorite spot and wAs a great choice) but it wouldn’t have been ready for 10 or so minutes so we went to the bar. Drinks are on the higher end but kind of what you’d expect from a steak restaurant. They were delicious.
The atmosphere upstairs was amazing. Low lighting, great music, decor is beautiful. Throughout the whole meal the service staff was wonderful. Our glasses were never empty, any questions we had were answered honestly, and the suggestions were on point.
Get the bacon appetizer! The bread was fresh out of the oven and the butters with the bread were different in a good way. I got the salmon and he got the filet. Both cooked perfectly and were delicious. Asparagus is fresh, puréed potatoes good. The cornbread cake with peaches and ice cream was good but wouldn’t recommend if you can try the others. It wasn’t bad but the three components just didn’t fit altogether. Peaches and cornbread cake good together and the cornbread cake with dulce de Leche ice cream good together. Just not the three combo. Not sure if it was a seasonal fruit choice but I feel a nice apple would go well with it. Still good just a bit odd. They did give him a flourless chocolate cake with coffee ice cream and a candle for his bday which was a very nice touch.
I would definitely go back for special occasions. Too pricey for us to make it a regular occurrence but it we could we definitely would because it was a really nice time and delicious meal.
Amazing food, amazing service. Best scallops I’ve had in Atlanta. Cocktails were exceptional. Jason, our server, was fantastic!! We will definitely be back.
We had an amazing dinner experience at Arnette’s Chop House! Tiffany did a fantastic job as our server. Her wine pairing with dinner was delicious. The spinalis was perfectly cooked. The sides were super tasty. We really look forward to returning in the future.
Great restaurant! Amazing atmosphere
Excellent food, excellent service, love the atmosphere...
Excellent meal. Awesome patio. Great drinks
Expensive but some of the best oysters I’ve ever had and a great cocktail.
Great atmosphere, food, and cocktails!! Service was awesome!
Disappointing. Very expensive and food was bland at best. Steaks were average, sides were nondescript, and ambiance was very casual. For the price ($450 for 3), please head to Kevin Rathbun Steak or Bones for much better food and service. We had also informed at the time of our reservation and the day of that it was a special birthday occasion and had even picked out a dessert but there was no mention of it and we left without even wanting dessert. We will not be back.
Move over Chops and Rathbuns, Brookhaven’s Arnette’s Just stole the show! I’m going to start the dessert first- I can’t recall all they offered but what I do know is the Baked Alaska was a burst of heaven dancing on our tastebuds! A fine pistachio cake layered with mint chocolate ice cream encapsulated with a baked meringue. That first bite is an experience that I long for again and again!
Moving to the entrees-steak is steak is steak but NOT when you have one from this joint. My husband ordered the DelMonico and I the 6 oz filet. Perfectly cooked and seasoned to a master chefs perfection. We ordered the homemade Worcestershire sauce which is made with Makers Mark and fermented for 2 months in an array of seasoning. This recipe should be locked up in the Coke vault, it’s just that unbelievably delicious.
The vegetables served were fresh and helped top off theses steak entrees.
The appetizers was a bacon appetizer of some sort-I didn’t pay attention when my husband ordered it but it’s one that I won’t soon forget. Bourbon maple glaze with toasted peanuts and jalapeños...Another Arnette’s masterpiece.
If I owned a steak house in Atlanta, I’d be worried-very worried because Arnette’s is a game changer!
Ps. I don’t write reviews often-rarely actually, so when I say this is the best steak house in town and can hold its own to the ones in Vegas and NYC-you can take that to the bank!
Bravo Arnette’s, Bravo!
First time here and it was fantastic!
The food is Excellent!
A little pricey, but well worth it!
My waiter was Ron and he was superb & informative on selections on menu as well! The service top notch from entry to end !
We will definitely go back !
We wanted to love this restaurant and were excited to try it for the first time. Unfortunately we had a quite disappointing experience. As a party of 4 we ordered appetizers and also salads, but our salads were simply forgotten. I requested my steak with no salt and pepper, medium well, got it well done with salt. When I requested to remake, asking to please make sure not to add salt, it came out medium well with salt (you could see salt crystals on top of it). I have honestly never had such a bad experience at any Atlanta restaurants in years. There are major issues with operations and communication which is sad as the venue so beautiful and the food (appetizers in our case) was good.
great ambience, beautiful restaurant, great service. appetizers were very good - Tuna crodu and beet salad, but the main course- ravioli
burrata was recommended by our waiter, was not fresh and too greasy!! I have left the whole dish and not even asked whats wrong with the dish..
We keep going back because the steaks are very good & the location is easy, but still feels like they’re working the bugs out re service. Ordered the salad special tonight, it was a bit skimpy. We were told it was a roasted peach salad, but the few tiny slivers of peaches were barely there. We had to ask twice for horseradish for the shrimp cocktail, then had to ask to order entrees/dinner. After finally flagging down our waiter, I ordered an Aperol Spritz (super trendy). A glass of Chardonnay was delivered (and sent back). 2nd attempt looked like a rum & Coke (?!). Third try was close, but didn’t taste like it had any Prosecco & was served in a highball glass instead of big tall glass with a stem. Manager did his best trying to make it right and added a splash more Prosecco.
Again, the steaks are good. Nice (albeit expensive) selection of sides.
Food was very good, but we all agreed that it was really overpriced. Great place to go for drinks and and appetizer - bar and open rooftop patio is very nice.
The aged steaks here are superb. Some of the best in Atlanta. My favorite of all time was the 90 day dry aged bone in ribeye.
The wet aged ribeye was sold out this time. My friend had the dry aged Kansas City strip. It had a marbled taste like Kobe beef. 30 days aged I believe. I had a small 6 oz ribeye medallion as we ordered other apps that were great (key west shrimp (cooked perfectly), kobe beef ribs (braised or sou vide, fall off the bone succulent), scallops (perfectly cooked). For sides I had an off menu asparagus with oil and salt and pepper grilled. We also had mushrooms and sauces.
Steak came out more well done then medium. They corrected the issue but for the price they should of offered a free drink or something
We had a wonderful experience! We sat at the bar upstairs. Beautiful and great service!! Wine 🍷 recommendations were spot on!
Hearth Roasted Oysters amazing! The Beef Wellington was the best we’ve ever had. So overwhelmed that I forgot to take picture while dining. I got a couple at home of our take-out portion. Our lunch at home Saturday continued to melt in our mouths. Thank you again for providing us consistent, wonderful service and meals here in Brookhaven! Word of Mouth 👄 is out! 😁
Honestly, it was really random! I was expecting exceptional food like at Hal’s or Chops Lobster Bar but no! Pasta was horrible, tasteless. Lobster in my pasta was over cooked and very chewy. Steak was just ok, nothing impressive. Our waiter didn’t even check on us once to see if we like our food. Not to mention the prices on everything. Overpriced, random, will never ever be back! (Though I am a Brookhaven neighbor). I will rather go spend my buck at Hal’s where the meal is always great!
Birthday dinner with my wife
We look forward to this being our new “date night” spot.
This visit was disappointing. We had an eight o'clock reservation and at 840 went to the stand and they just had a table open. The shrimp app was overcooked. The tartar was very good. My steak was perfect the other was overcooked. The mac and cheese was ice cold they took it and asked if we wanted it reheated by that point no not reheated.
But u will return.
Great steaks, sides and service. It was a Happy Mother’s Day dinner
Great place for drinks, casual meet up or date night. Started with drinks upstairs at the bar. Love how this is separate from the main dining room. Bar tender served up one of the best dirty martinis I’ve had in a while. Followed drinks with dinner downstairs. We had the Waygu beef ribs, amazing and tender. Finished it up with their steak specials. Steak was perfectly cooked with a nice sear. Will be back!
We had our first visit to Arnette's on Friday. The food, service, and atmosphere were great. I have food allergy issues, and they handled everything with no bumps. Meats were cooked perfectly, and seafood was super fresh! Highly recommend.
