Legend has it that Collinet, French King Louis Phillipe's (reign 1830-1848) chef unintentionally created soufflé potatoes by plunging already fried potatoes into extremely hot oil to reheat them when the King arrived late for dinner one night. To the Chef's surprise and the king's delight, the potatoes puffed up like little balloons. We hope that you will be equally delighted. Served with Béarnaise Sauce
Arnaud's Crab Cakes
Made with Jumbo Lump Louisiana crabmeat. Served with a White Remoulade Sauce and petit salad
This restaurant is amazing! If you are in New Orleans you have to eat here. Highly recommend the Baked Alaska!
Arnaud’s is one of New Orleans great restaurants. The food is always as great as the service. And their Cafe Brulot is the best.
We were so spoiled! From the personalized menu to the customs tasting menu…so worth every penny! The food was wonderful. The French 75 drink is not to be missed! Would do it again & probably will.
The woman who took care of our drinks and crepes was amazing!! We barely saw our male waiter, I hope the woman got more of our tip
It was the quintessential, fine New Orleans, dining experience that we have come to expect from Arnaud’s. They definitely delivered the perfect evening.
Their dress code is a complete joke! I wore a sport coat and dress slacks as required. Most men were in casual to very casual attire. all weather vests shirt sleeves sweaters but very few sport coats (many of them issued at the door by the restaurant. They allowed cut up jeans and belly shirts for women. Overall look of patrons more what I see at Denny's! I felt over dressed by comparison to other patrons! Black tire waiters and people dressed like they just raked leaves not a good match and destroyed what I was expecting as a classy environment!
Also a large table was extremely load and out of control killed any ambience this place may have had to offer.
I rate this as a tourist trap! Save some money and try Denny's!
Moe was excellent. She gave excellent recommendations and her service was swift. She gave us the back story of the restaurant so it was awesome to learn the history of the restaurant. Excellent time and we will return
Total disappointment. Food was mediocre at best. Fish was bland. Crab cakes fried to point of being tasteless. Service was fair. It appears they live on a historic reputation, but they do not live up to modern expectations.
The only thing that could’ve been proved this dining experience what is the Slightly inebriated leading to tables away could’ve been asked to lower her voice
Everything was great, except Filet Mignon was prepared well done when medium was requested. Staff offered to send back, but the vegetables are side item, thus would have to eat without the main dish or have cold. Same applied to my wife dining with me, wait and have cold crab cakes or I would eat alone. Kinda put a damper on evening.
The service and food on Thanksgiving Day will never be forgotten..My wife and myself will be forever grateful to the entire Thanksgiving day at Arnauds...
Excellent service and food. We had the various fillets of the seafood and fish. So delicious and a great place to celebrate our son's birthday! So special!
We had a drink before dinner at French 75 and the bartender, Austin was great. Dinner in the main room blew us away. Doug and his crew took incredible care for us.
Do yourself a favor and be sure to finish with the bananas foster.
I’ve taken many friends to Arnaud’s over the years for Sunday Jazz brunch, and it never disappoints! It is always lovely. Excellent service and food. The atmosphere is elegant and old worldly. Fine example of New Orleans fine dining.
Lovely jazz brunch! Food was fabulous and my three kids loved this fancy meal!
The food was delicious and the staff was great. All of the recommendations were perfect from appetizers to dessert.
One of our favorite restaurants! Never disappoints!
From walking in to walking out, the entire experience was amazing. I brought my father to childhood home of New Orleans for his 65th birthday and we were looking for a nice dinner to celebrate. I just happened across Arntafaud's and thought their menu looked good. Boy was I wrong. Their food was not good, but EXCEPTIONAL. The staff is very knowledgeable about this menu, and, if needed, will ask you questions to figure out what meal would be best for you. I had the Filet Mignon Charlemond and my father had the Shrimp Creole. I am not a seafood guy, but his Shrimp Creole was even better than my steak, and my steak was to die for. We shared the Crab Cakes for an app and added the Soufflé Potatoes which were also amazing. Finished off with Bananas Foster and Baked Alaska. The presentation, the taste, and the vibe were all on point.
If you want the experience, take your celebration here.
The waitstaff was attentive and very helpful in their suggestions. I had the seafood gumbo, which was great, and the Fish Pontchartrain. The fish of the day was sheepshead, which was very delicate and flaky and cooked to perfection. And it was covered with lots of crabmeat. The highlight of the evening was the Cafe Brulot for the after-dinner coffee. To make it, the waiter pours flaming liqueurs through a clove-infused orange and orange peel into a bowl that contains cinnamon sticks and then puts out the flames with the coffee. If you've never had it before, it's a great show and a great combination of flavors.
Veal was outstanding as was the chicken. Don’t think of ordering chicken but this was delicious. Artichokes and capers with the mushrooms has me excited to get again. The baked Alaska with the chocolate sauce is a perfect ending. Soufflé potatoes are the best in New Orleans as is the French 75.
Arnaud’s is a treasure! The service is superb, the ambience lovely and the food is incredible (Shrimp Arnaud, Arnaud Salad, Meunière, Soufflé Potatoes and Chocolate Mud Pie). All of it left us with wonderful memories.
Expected a very classy dining experience and was not disappointed. Thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp Arnaud, crab cakes and mirliton (house specialty) for dinner and desserts with Cafe Brulot (another house specialty... you will be pleasantly surprised)!
The Jazz Brunch was a wonderful experience. If it is on the menu, the Crab Cheesecake is a must order - so delicious! We also thought it was a great value for a high quality, 3 course meal. French 75s are an excellent drink to order with your meal, and be sure to tip the jazz trio who will come to play at your table!
Arnauds is overpriced and overrated. It is so loud and busy it is basically a tourist trap at this point. My wife ordered a 36 dollar fish dish that was just a 4oz piece of fish with no starch, veggie, etc. The service was good and so was the bananas foster
Outstanding as usual
I don’t quite understand what the buzz is all about. A very old feeling atmosphere and sub-par food and service. Our server behaved as if he hated his job. There is no attention to the details and the kitchen spends no effort on food presentation. Our Caesar salad was just a bunch of poorly chopped lettuce, the fish entree was tasteless. There are better, waaay better choices in NoLa.
Everything was fabulous, from the hostess down to them getting us a cab afterwards. The entire experience was outstanding. The rolls were scrumptious is all I can say, the food was delicious and the dessert, which we had the baked Alaska, which mouth watering. The staff was very attentive to all of our needs, most enjoyable anniversary dinner, planning next dinner out already! On the top of my list for sure!
We were looking for a venue for a wedding and Arnauds was top of our list for food, location and ambiance. The food was delicious, the dining room was classic and the service was fine but details matter.
We had a great time at our Sunday Jazz brunch. Definitely looking forward to going again. The inside was gorgeous and the food was delicious!
We arrived at the time of our reservation and we’re immediately seated. After we were seated no one took our drink order or attended to us for 20 minutes. After we asked a waiter to serve us we were informed that they were out of some of their menu items. The noise level was loud as well. We decided to leave without ordering anything but a cocktail due to the poor service for such an upscale restaurant.
The food was superb. The service was even better. Management didn't even blink when we added 2 to our table of five. Seamless!
I have liked Arnaud's since my first time dining there in 1970. The main dining room is beautiful and historic. We went for the Jazz Brunch and had a great experience. Our food was outstanding, as usual. The service was impeccable. The musicians were excellent and took requests from guests as they circulated throughout the room. And the milk punch . . . ah!
The perfect place to brunch on a Sunday. The food is delicious and the atmosphere unbeatable.
Guest’s main meal was cold and desert was incorrectly prepared
Great birthday dinner experience!!
Very nice dining experience. Very professional wait staff, and very amusing and entertaining water and bread server who was good with his jokes and stories.
Incredible service, delicious food, elegant atmosphere
Visit to New Orleans with hubby, perfect night out.staff, food, atmosphere was fabulous.Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Friday Halloween lunch! So New Orleans! Special menu and drinks, would love to see a few on regular menu. Not a vacant seat, yet staff as always the best. Don’t miss out next year!
