Arnaud's Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I had an amazing dinner last evening. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the Christmas season and very festive feeling. Great cocktails and our dinners were delicious. Filet Mignon could be cut with a fork and the Pompano fish was prepared perfectly. Service was impeccable. Prices were not unreasonable. Would definitely return.
Outstanding service from arrival to exit, and a charming atmosphere. Prices were very reasonable for fine dining (~$200 check for a couple with drinks, appetizers and dessert). Table-side bananas foster is an absolute treat. Seafood is fresh and well-prepared. Puffed potatoes underwhelming despite reputation, steak a bit salty but of good quality, and bar drinks small and disappointing. Overall, would return in the future.
We dine a few times per year at Arnaud's and it never disappoints. The service is professional, polite and helpful. The ambiance is nice and the main dining room is vibrant without being too loud. The food has never been anything other than incredible. Highly recommend.
We had a most delicious, well presented dinner for two in this famous restaurant. The servers were very attentive without being intrusive and the food itself was all very tasty. I had fillet mignon with a bernaise sauce which was done to perfection and was very tender. My wife had Pompano David which was most flavourful. There is a wonderful old world charm to the place which was enhanced by the wait staff. My one complaint is that there was not a gluten-free option for the bread served prior to the meal.
I would recommend Arnaud's to anyone for its history, excellent wine, menu and ambiance. However, we had a fresh baked loaf of bread, cold butter, and no bread plate. We did not receive clean knives after the salad course. Four people waited on us, which are three too many. My husband wore the required sport coat, but obviously a policy not followed. Our meal was very good, and dessert was excellent. A few minor adjustments, however, in the name of fine dining.
Quintessential NOLA gem. Excellent attentive yet unobtrusive service by Liam and his krewe, completely en pointe. We went for brunch for our final meal, on the final day, of a long Thanksgiving weekend visit. All dishes were prepared to perfection and absolutely delectable. The live trio was such fun, they stroll the room and take songs upon request - we threw them for a slight loop with the Stray Cats - followed by Etta James and they performed both perfectly making it a memorable finale tour trip. What’s not to love about NOLA and Arnuad’s?!!? We will most definitely return!
Went for Thanksgiving dinner at 5;00 with a reservation for 5:00. We were seated promptly. It was very chaotic with wait staff running crazy. Food was all great and served in good time and warm. Our servers were friendly and on the spot. Just a bit too chaotic and seeming disorganized as to who was doing what with the holiday.
Our family had Thanksgiving dinner there and we all ordered the typical Thanksgiving turkey dinner. Not sure if it was because of the holiday rush, but the service was slow, especially the drink service. Service was professional and formal. The food was well prepared and everything tasted good, but was not exceptional. The restaurant is upscale formal. Sport coat is requested of gentlemen. It was very noisy when we were there.
First time eating here but was not impressed. Perhaps poor service was due to Thanksgiving crowd. Too many wait staff per table and none knew what the others were doing. Brought dessert for one in our party. Had to flag someone down after at least 10 minutes to ask for everyone else's dessert. Grumpy person did not even acknowledge the mistake. Bill brought to table before requested coffee was served. Very crowded, tables on top of one another. Not inclined to return.
We were treated to a very experienced waiter who knew how to run a table. The water glasses were never empty. Each course had a good period of time between them. The escargot was served HOT and the shrimp cocktail cold. The steak was expertly cooked to desired levels. The bread pudding had a marvelous whisky sauce and it was properly warming on the cool evening we were there. The museum of Miss Galatoires gowns and hats is worth a walk through to understand some of the social history of the Quarter.
Over priced, sub par New Orleans food. Their signature dish was over sauced and under marinated. Omelette was overcooked and barely had cheese. The bananas foster tasted like rubbing alcohol, couldn't even finish it. Every time we ordered a drink, it tasted different and have different garnishes. Our waiter was quite loud and not a representative of fine dining. $90 for brunch and left with a stomachache. Skip this place if you visit New Orleans.
Our experience was AWFUL!
Arnaud's has changed Owners, I hear, and it is evident. The restaurant was one third full at that prime time on Tuesday 11/14/17.
We were seated at a nice table for our 7 pm reservation.
Took a while for complimentary bread to arrive. No bread plates. 'We don't use bread plates'
My Wife'-s shrimp creole was tepid and void of any flavor.
My speckled trout meuniere was actually sheep's head, battered and deep fried. I was charged the speckled trout price, $29.95, for something I could have gotten at a fast food joint for $4.99.
WE WILL NEVER GO BACK...
A CLASS ACT!!! Arnaud's...does not disappoint. The room is quintessential New Orleans, the food is well prepared. Everyone is professional. The Maitre D is one of the most fabulous and "he's on it" with respect to how the restaurant is run. Fresh fish choices are recommended.
The Jazz Bistro is worth a great second trip back to eat in a slightly more informal manner and listen to great music. The French 75 Bar, also part of, is a classy, intimate (but Loud) place to have your before dinner cocktails. The bartenders know what they're doing. Classic Whiskey Sours ROCK!!!!
My wife and I enjoyed an extraordinary dining experience at Arnaud's. The restaurant and its staff impressed us from the moment we walked through the entrance to the time we finally departed well more than two hours later. The cocktails were unique and delightful. The wine was superb, and the food was truly exceptional. All was experienced in a very warm and rich setting. Each course was presented beautifully in a relaxed atmosphere. The entrees , salads, and soups were prepared to utter perfection. Even the bread was among the best we ever tasted. Our dinner concluded with a desert of Bananas Foster prepared table side with flaming splendor. We want to acknowledge the outstanding and welcoming service provided to us by Augie, Doug, Dustin, and Michael during and even after our dinner. Our dining experience at Arnaud's was a truly memorable one in every aspect!
Had 6 for dinner at 6:30. The dining room was filled quickly after we were seated.
Staff was attentive to getting us drinks and our order but didn't rush us through the meal.
Food was delicious from appetizer, to dinner to dessert.
I had escargot which was delicious.
This is a meal that you can count on being very good and that everyone would enjoy.
We had Sunday jazz brunch and it was a terrific experience! The food was yummy and the jazz band was wonderful. They went around the room and played at individual tables. It felt like a real New Orleans event. The price tag is rather high so you have to know that going in. The food is great but you are truly paying for the whole experience.
