Beautiful restaurant but the ambiance was lacking. No music and a rather dry experience.
Absolutely overrated. Just for tourists.
Three piece band doing charming table to table jazz standards while enjoying world class food ambience and service made this one of the highlights of our five day visit. Band was not too loud and husband was amusing me by knowing each song! (He’s got those skills) We recommend requesting balcony (where we were) if noise level is of concern to you too. Note: one flight up, no elevator. Band does come up briefly for 2-3 songs both even then not too loud because upstairs better acoustics. Tin ceiling and marble floors downstairs means sound bounces.
Food: price of entree included salad dessert and appetizers so I consider this a deal! I got a peach Bellini that was less peachy and more champagne than I asked for but otherwise no complaints.
Loved that servers all wear tuxedos and head server Douglas has “Captain” on his name tag. Douglas was our server and was outstanding! props to his kind and patient way in training two other staff on complex techniques including training Svetlana in cinnamon, orange liqueur, orange, clove table side coffee. Husband loved his tiny waffle in two fruit compotes, with side of sugar cane syrup (aka molasses).
It was great
Service was great! Drinks where amazing. Try thr French 75
My favorite New Orleans restaurant.
When my date had a question and challenge with her entree, the staff immediately worked to resolve it.
I was very happy with the quality of the food and service.
Food was disappointing, but the service was not bad. The table was against the wall rather than being in the main dining with the high ceiling. The veal and the crab cakes were average, and the crawfish with puff pastry was too salty.
Absolutely wonderful food and service was exceptional
Dinner at Arnaud’s was delicious and delightful. We were greeted pleasantly, provided with helpful menu and specials information and recommended fresh, locally sourced desserts. The dining experience is everything one would expect from a great restaurant, except the noise level was pretty intense.
Delicious from start to finish! Settle in for a relaxing meal. Each course was fabulous.
This has been my favorite restaurant for over ten years. I guess anyone can have an off night. For an appetizer I had the mushrooms and they were fabulous. Usually my favorite item is the soufflé potatos, this time they were a disappointment; cold and lacking flavor. For my entree I had the crispy fish that was anything but crispy. The coating was soggy and the fish was bland and a bit dry. I will return and give them another try.
The dress code has been relaxed too much in my opinion but perhaps others will be happy. I do not appreciate getting dressed up for a special occasion and the next table is wearing jeans with holes and unpressed, untucked plaid work shirts.
Arnaud’s was amazing! Busy weekend but still friendly and prompt service. Met head waiter and owner. Both extremely professional and courteous. My guest and I felt extremely welcomed on our first time in New Orleans. Oysters n filet charlemond👌🏼👌🏼!!
Fantastic experience to have dinner at Arnaud’s.
Food and ambiance was spectacular. Great traditional New Orleans menu. Well worth it. Great place.
I highly recommend Arnouds for anyone looking for an experience in true fine dining. It was absolutely AMAZING! From the food to the service. My wife and I were celebrating our 15th anniversary, and she is one of the most finicky eaters I know. She was blown away by there potato soufflé! I had their famous shrimp appetizer and the turtle soup. It was one of the best dining experiences we have had yet. When back in Nola, we will certainly be eating here again.
New Orleans landmark. Don't miss the Mardi Gras exhibit on the second floor!
As always, the classic New Orleans brunch experience. We come here every time we are in the city and it never disappoints. We always feel so welcome, from the staff to the other diners, everyone is friendly and having fun. The musicians are wonderful and entertain each table with personal requests. A must do in New Orleans!
Arnaud’s is a wonderful place that always takes care of us. It’s definitely our favorite spot in the French Quarter. There is no place like it.
Staff started off overwhelmed but got it together and did a great job overall.
Dining area was too close together with no space between tables almost touching. Food was average noise level was painful
Wonderful visit. When in New Orleans - go here for dinner.
Overall quite good service. Food was good, and atmosphere was good although a little bit loud.
Checked off another bucket list item for our visit to New Orleans. This iconic restaurant is upscale and not inexpensive but well worth the trip. Pompano was very good, and the Coquille St. Jacque was rated to the best ever by Janice. Service was well informed and entertaining by our most attentive server, Bailey. Try to get one of his tables when you are there. Definitely worth the trip
Excellent authentic creole cuisine exceptionally presented by an attentive and professional staff. Possibly the best bread ever. Wonderful meal followed by a nite cap at French 75. Highly recommended.
My pompano was over cooked which is a shame since it’s a premium fish. The service was attentive and friendly but at times felt rushed. Noise level high. I feel that most patrons are allured by the restaurants history.
Food is good, but doesn’t live up to legendary status. Especially for the money. The ambiance is amazing, but the service is hit or miss. If it weren’t so expensive I would recommend it, but there are so many better options.
We unfortunately did not like Arnaud's as much as we had hoped. We had heard many good things about this restaurant but were sadly disappointed. The service was outstanding but the service should never be the highlight of a restaurant that is supposedly held in such high regard. The Veal was ok, my wife asked for medium rare and it came out medium, absolutely no pink in the middle and cooked all the way through. Her veal was much better than my fish though which was basically baked, had some lemon butter and parsley splashed on it and that was it. It was very plain and bland. The escargot for appetizer was quite good as was the gumbo. The Banana Fosters for desert was absolutely fantastic and by far the highlight of the meal.
We were disappointed in the service!! I had to ask for refills of my water glass, my dinner was delivered but I had no knife, and my husband ordered a glass of wine but 25 minutes later - after the meal had arrived, we had to ask another staff member to check on the missing wine. The food was delicious however we expected more attention to detail!!!
Arnauds is old time elegance. The service beyond excellent. The French 75 was aromatic and delicious. We loved our meal. Everything was excellent and we enjoyed the bread and permission to be messy. That was sweet. The heart balloon was a superb touch. Will never again visit NOLA without paying a visit to Arnauds for dinner and drinks at the bar. The museum was such a nice touch of history. Loved the monkey lamb. Wish it was for sale. Added so much character. The interior design was superb. Hopefully we can have the potatoes souffle next time. We were told it was unavailable. This dinner was memorable, romantic and elegant. Loved our time at Arnauds.
Just delicious! She filet mignon was literally so tender they ate it with a butter knife!!!
Excellent Easter Brunch with our family of eight!
We enjoyed Easter brunch off of the four-course fixed price menu, and we were not disappointed! The food was divine, and the wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The jazz ensemble provided the perfect, upbeat music, and we were delighted. Arnaud's is known for its reputation, so the standards were high. Perfect experience, and we highly recommend!
One of the great, classic Creole restaurants in New Orleans (along with Antoine's, Galatoire's, Broussard's, and Commander's Palace). It may not be as popular as Galatoire's or Commander's, but I like the room the best of all of them, and when you pair that with the associated French 75 bar and the interesting museum upstairs - along with more than adequate food - you get a great experience.
Excellent food, service, and ambiance.
The overall experience was pleasant. I would definitely recommend and visit again.
By far the best of the NOLA Grand dames. A wonderful New Orleans experience. Dont miss the Arnaud signature dishes which are done to Perfection. Service is top notch. Very professional and old school. Yet friendly and warm. We love the dress code which we hope will never change.
They were very accommodating since our swamp tour was running late. We had to move our reservation back an hour and they were very helpful
We were visiting from Philly and Arnaud's was recommended by hotel as best place to get classic New Orleans creole, and we a were very happy with the entire experience. The food, service and atmosphere was top notch. Great intro to New Orleans cuisine for our two teenage daughters.
Arnaud's is a classic New Orleans restaurant! Once again, everything was WONDERFUL! It was fun introducing others to it just to see their delight in each course!
