Everything was fabulous!!
The service was wonderfully attentive. The ambiance was elegant and relaxing. Our food was amazing! The bar next door was delightful!
Service was excellent however I was disappointed in the food. Crab cakes very small and over cooked. Veal ok but over priced for the quality. Banana foster was a big disappointment. We did have a $90 bottle of wine so with appetizer main coarse and desert the cost for two people was over $300.
Beautiful food and ambience. Our waiter was attentive and invited us after dinner to the Mardi Gras museum upstairs- we were very appreciative and in awe. We will plan on visiting when we are in New Orleans.
Food was really mediocre, especially for the price. Atmosphere overly formal for 2020. Restaurant is tired and simply not very good. Had much better food elsewhere.
Classic food for New Orleans
7 family members got together to attend some of the Mardi Gras festivities. This was the only dinner we could all be together so we wanted a to pick a special place. Arnaud’s is beautiful inside and the service was great. The drinks and soups came out quickly but the entrees took way too long to arrive. The food was very good though. A loaf of bread and individual tiny plates of butter were passed out. No bread plates given. When we asked for bread plates, we were told they don’t do those- it’s a Cajun tradition to just tear off a chunk of bread and share with loved ones. OK but now I have my bread and tons of crumbs on the tablecloth. We had the Crabmeat Karen, petite steak, fresh fish, crab cakes and the crawfish; all good. On several previous reviews, we read Arnaud’s was known for their soufflé potatoes, so we tried them. They are puffy rectangles of potatoes served with a dipping sauce. They were good but only one of us would likely order again. The noise level was atrocious- the ceilings were high which I’m sure was the reason. The waiter had to bend forward and shout to our table to tell us the specials. Could not hear what the person across the table was saying, and I’m not a good lip reader. The bill was $425 for seven people, without tip. Included 8 drinks, 2 soups, and 7 entrees. No desserts. The other part we weren’t too thrilled about was walking through an intersection of crazy busy Bourbon street in nice clothes, trying not to get liquor spilled all over us.
The wait staff was wonderful! Sometimes you’re just not that hungry, and upscale restaurants will try to push you into ordering more or frown upon splitting a course, but Arnaud’s did not do that! We were delighted with the service!
Visiting New Orleans on our way to Alabama
Great food and great service! Would highly recommend.
Words can’t describe the hospitality Augie & staff show to their customers. We’re not everyday customers, but they sure treat us that way. To us Arnauds is New Orleans!
Food was excellent. The petitte filet lafitte with crabmeat was superb as was the bananas foster dessert. The ambiance was lovely and classy. However, the service was slow and inattentive. We did not get bread or menus until asking and plates were not provided for the bread. When we asked, the waiter said, “ you can make a mess.” Also, we had to use the same butter knife we used for the bread with our meal. Ervin, the bus boy, was the most attentive and respectful of the wait staff.
Great service and food
We had a great experience. The service was very good - what you would expect at a nice restaurant. The food was wonderful! We highly recommend.
My wife and I had the pleasure of two fine dinners at Arnaud's. We particularly enjoyed meeting Shane during our visits, he made us feel very welcome. You all are lucky to have him!
Thanks for two fine meals. We'll come back when we're in New Orleans again.
Great wine, fantastic food, and wonderful service. Just around the corner from our hotel
Undeniably and specifically, Arnaud’s offers the finest dining experience in every phase I’ve personally enjoyed since 1981....!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Arnaud’s. I cannot overstate the quality of service, food, and atmosphere created for us. I have dined here a few times prior and have always been impressed, but was so glad I chose this establishment for our celebration. Thanks so much. We hope to return soon and often.
My girlfriend and I aren't food experts, by any means, but we get very into the restaurant scene and try a new restaurant almost every week...this was on of the favorite meals of my life. Thank you for a terrific experience and great food.
Exceptional teamwork was evident with the staff and was excellent. Food and beverage quality was most impressive. Jazz music created a festive atmosphere in good taste.
Underwhelming. We have been going to Arnaud’s for 20+ years. We arrived for the jazz brunch and were treated as if it was a fast food establishment. Service was decent, but the food was thrown at us so fast and COLD. Ordering coffee was questioned because it takes time?!? We wasted $250, but also learned a lesson. Go somewhere that wants people to return.
Jasper and Bailey were wonderful. The appetizers were superb and the crawfish cheesecake was indescribably good. The jazz trio was phenomenal . I’m looking forward to our return trip
The food was good (not out of this world amazing like K-Paul's), portion sizes are decent, and the price point wasn't crazy. The French 75s are STRONG! The bar staff were prompt and friendly at French 75. My biggest issue was the staff during dinner. My fiancée and I ate at Arnaud's on 2/15; we had just gotten engaged that afternoon and I updated my reservation to reflect that. There was nothing from the staff (no congratulations, great seat, etc) which is pretty uncommon. On top of that, the staff seemed cold- not friendly but prompt in service. Apathetic would be the best way I could describe them or tired. I'd go back, I would just hope for staff that seem excited to be working there.
As always, augie and Doug make the experience unforgettable over and over again.without question, my favorite restaurant in the world.
The only reservation available was at 10pm so I took it. We arrived late, 10:10, and they told us they were sorry but the kitchen was closed and we couldn’t be served. Just 10 minutes late, really? Anyway, they apologized to us and sat us at a small table in the bar area, asked if we would like a cheese plate, we said yes, thinking it was a nice gesture on their part. It was a very nice cheese plate, we also had a nice dessert and a few drinks. I was a little surprised that the cheese plate was on the bill (it really sounded like it was given to us as a compensatory gift for not serving us dinner). Truth be told, we didn’t want to eat a lot anyway, so it ended up being a great experience. Just wanted to write up for future attendees - don’t show up late!
Valentines Dinner was excellent! Loved the table-side Bananas Foster flambee!
Our service was outstanding!! The Oysters Bienville were an excellent choice to start our dinner. The food was great! We happened to go Valentine’s Weekend and Mardi Gras, so it was pretty busy. However, we were well taken care of despite the VERY large crowd! Definitely a great time and we will return!!
Service was outstanding but food was a bit bland and overpriced.
Having thoroughly enjoyed our previous dining experiences at Arnaud's we drove from out of town for lunch reservations on Valentine's Day. Even though, we experienced horrendous traffic delays on the Pontchartrain expressway and the French Quarter, the hostess was gracious enough to hold ou reservation time and seat us upon arrival. As usual, service was excellent, ambiance enjoyable and food most enjoyable. We look forward to our next visit.
Excellent service. Table ready at exactly 6:00. Entrees were a bit too salty. That was our only complaint. Everything else was superb.
Food and environment were exceptional!
Absolutely the best meal we have had while in NOLA.
It was cold in the restaurant, chairs were not comfortable. Not much to choose from if not a fish/red meat eater. Bread was delicious. The two small crab cake left my husband still hungry. The chicken andouille soup was wonderful. Desserts were average tasting. For as expensive the experience, we were disappointed.
Booked dinner For anniversary. Everything was perfection- from the lighting to the steak to the service. Traveled from NYC specifically to have Arnaud’s gumbo, which I think about at least once per month.
Arnaud’s is always an impeccable choice. Always recommend. :)
Portions are small. Disappointed with bananas Foster dessert.
Food and service excellent. But we won't be back. Wine, Bourdeaux in particular, marked up way too much. I recommend Galiatoire's and Commanders. Both have great food, better wine list and reasonable markup on the wine. If you don't care about wine, then highly recommend Arnaud's.
