Legend has it that Collinet, French King Louis Phillipe's (reign 1830-1848) chef unintentionally created soufflé potatoes by plunging already fried potatoes into extremely hot oil to reheat them when the King arrived late for dinner one night. To the Chef's surprise and the king's delight, the potatoes puffed up like little balloons. We hope that you will be equally delighted. Served with Béarnaise Sauce
Bananas Foster for Two
A local favorite. Bananas sautéed in butter, cinnamon and brown sugar, flamed tableside with banana liqueur and dark rum and served over Brocato's French vanilla ice cream (Additional $4 per person)
We entered the restaurant and did not know collard shirts were required. We had 2 men with us who had on very nice polo sweaters, dress pants, and dress shoes (they were dressed nice). We were approached by a male waiter who said they were not permitted to go into dining room because collard shirts were required. He offered a coat he had in the back which had a collar and allowed men to go to dining room. We sat down and started getting appetizers and food. He decided to take off the coat because the coat was about a 2/3x and he is much smaller so the sleeves were dipping into the food. The man then approached us again and said rudely (you must wear the coat. That’s why I gave it to you” in front of a whole room of tables with many people. Very embarrassing. I understand that there is a dress code but many men were wearing button up flannels (not nice shirts) and some men didn’t have on collard shirts at all. Many men were also wearing sweaters and had on a coat with a collar and took off their coat and hung them on the coat rack on the wall. I do not understand why he was picking. The waiters that waited on us were super great and sweet! And the food was also very good.
Excellent visit. We were seated at the owners table. First alcohol my wife had two Burbon cocktails both were excellent. I had three glasses of wine one domestic Pinot and two French Syrah. The French Syrah was much better. The bread is warm and come with delicious butter. Had two loves of bread. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the Louisiana Drum. Both were excellent. We had the bananas foster for two. Definitely get the bananas foster. Great food and definitely a must place when you visit New Orleans.
Fish (Drum) was delicious tonight. As was Shrimp Arnaud and the seasonal cheesecake, perfect dessert for Mardi Gras. And as always the best wait staff in New Orleans.
Great time with great friends. The food, the service, and the ambiance was outstanding.
Delicious food, great service. Our first night in town go to restaurant!
Everything was outstanding and the Turtle Soup was excellent.
We were a little worried when we were “greeted” by two very unfriendly women when we checked in at the host stand. We commented to each other that we hoped it got better. It did! Our team of waiters did a fabulous job taking care of us. It’s a beautiful dining room with impeccable service. The food was delicious. Just subtracted a star because of those two women who “greet” guests.
Very disappointed with the food. Shrimp Arnaud-their signature dish was not good. The shrimp were small, the dish is cold and the 4 of us didn’t finish it-because no one cared for it. The potato soufflé was interesting and good.
My friends had the crème brûlée which they said was not very good either I will not go back.
As always service was top notch. Food was great. Highly recommend the turtle soup, crab prentiss, crab cakes, and fish pontchartrain. Great overall experience. Always love stopping at Arnaud's when in NOLA.
I am really glad myself and my now fiancee started our trip to New Orleans here. The service and food were beyond amazing. It really started our trip off right. We will definitely be back on our next trip to New Orleans.
My husband and I had dinner at Arnaud's to celebrate my birthday. Everything from start to finish was perfect. The service was impeccable and the food was to die for. I had the breast of duck Ellen and it was amazing. My husband had the filet au poivre and said it was one of the best steaks he ever had. We topped the meal off with baked Alaska--it's not something you see on menus a lot and I've always wanted to try it. Simply delicious! Great recommendations on wines to go with our meals as well. A special shout out to Jasper--he was so attentive, funny, and knowledgeable. He was a huge part of making my celebration so special. Will definitely go to Arnaud's again when we make our way back to New Orleans someday.
Arnaud's knows what they are doing. If you want an upscale dining experience accompanied by amazing food, this is it. I can not speak highly enough about this place. This will be a regular stop for us. Ask to see the museum on the 2nd floor as well.
Nice dining room. Quiet…a little too quiet. Would like a little music softly piped in. Food a d service was excellent. Highly recommend if you want an upscale experience and excellent food
Not pleased with the front desk lady who gave us the worst table on arrival. After I complained to another service , they gave us the table we choose .
Wonderful brunch with lovely jazz. Shrimp Arnaud was delicious followed by eggs benedict. Always love that dish at Arnauds. Just a wonderful way to have Sunday lunch. Best staff in New Orleans.
The Sunday Jazz Brunch is fabulous! Wonderful not-to-be-missed treat in NOLA. Be sure to dress appropriately, as this is no Bourbon Street dive.
This was the perfect date venue for our first visit to NOLA!
New Orleans classic! Simply a must when visiting New Orleans.
We had the most exception experience! The service was amazing, the drinks and food were delicious and the ambiance was beautiful. Our servers were kind and attentive. Such a great New Orleans gem!
Excellent dinner! Arnauds knocked it out of the park last night! Delicious and great service!
The food was good, however, the service was nonexistent. Our waiters were Manny and Mike and they all but ignored us. A lovely young man named Eric helped when we needed something.
We had a really good time. We especially enjoyed our time in French 75.
Food was excellent - highly recommend the snails! Service was great - we never had an empty glass or wondered where our waiter was. It was my husbands birthday and they were kind enough to give my husband a birthday card and a small baked Alaska (dessert and a show!). Great meal!
Classic NOLA high end restaurant. Excellent service. Great food. Excellent wine list. Been going to Arnaud's for years and years. Always a good experience.
Just phenomenal. Old Creole cooking at it's best. Food was high quality and good value. The service was the best I've seen at a restaurant in years. Highly recommend.
I mean...what can you say: Arnaud's is timeless with deep roots in the past. The food is spectacular, the service impeccable, the ambience to die--gaslights in the entry just give you a preview of the beauty inside. The bar is intimate and lovely with a busts of Winston Churchill decked out in beads and a crown.
Arnaud's will forever more haunt my dreams. And I'll just spend the hours waiting until I can go back.
Great food and service! Larry was fantastic as was the rest of the staff.
Wonderful as always!! Jasper was a great waiter. The food was amazing and so was the jazz trio. I love this place!
Jazz Brunch was amazing!
Excellent and now I know how to make banana fosters
New Years. Visiting from Texas
The restaurant is beautiful old vintage New Orleans. The food is great. We both had the crab cakes, and they certainly live up to expectations. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We went for New Year’s Eve dinner and it was fantastic!! It was also our anniversary and they gifted us an amazing dessert. Good and service were phenomenal! A must visit when in NOLA.
Wonderful meal in one of New Orleans’ grande dame restaurants.
We’re natives, but still appreciate what makes this city an international dining destination.
For the full experience, end your meal with Café Brûlot!
Restaurants like Arnaud’s really should be cherished. They are the backbone of Née Orleans fine dining. The experience, the food, the service were all incredible.
Service & Food exceptional. Nice ambience, however with a big open room the noise can be noticeable.
Very unhappy with the service. They brought us the wrong bill, and charged our credit card for a $750.00 charge that was not ours. They said they corrected it, but the charge is still on the credit card. Highly dissatisfied with the way the handled it
The food was amazing! Our waiter was friendly and
Great experience! Ask for Augie, the manager, to give you the full history of Arnauds. Get the oysters, escargot and any fish dish and whatever you do don't forget the bananas foster!
