Armageddon Cake Dessert Bar
I really liked the cakes but I did find they were a little bit rich. May have just been the cakes we ordered though. Overall awesome experience, loved the feeling of being back in my grandmas house.
Best cakes ever eaten. Any occassion would suit. Long black over ice 👌👌
The staff were rude and took them roughly 20 minutes before coming over and clearing the dirty table we were seated at and taking our order
The new location might not have the same ambiance, although the retro furniture and board games are the same - but my dessert tasted fabulous. Great place for a birthday celebration. It's like being in someone's lounge room, but we didn't have to cook. A good time was had by all. Excellent service too.
They need to spend more time creating a unique place with moody lighting. The previous place on Little Malop had real homely feeling that was fun, vibrant, and cosy. This new place feels cold and copied, no genuine character.
We visited a few times during our stay in Geelong and found the service excellent, the variety on the menu was very good and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Great experience of good food, service and just a great to place to catch up. Loved it.
Came here a couple times. So worth it. The servings are quite big too. They had stacks of uno cards so we played a couple rounds. Will go back again next time I’m in Geelong
We loved it, attended for my birthday with my elderly parents, who had fun.
Excellent food as always but very poor service. We waited 10-15min to be servered and waited another 20-25min to get our food delivered I use to go all the time at the old location seems to me that they haven’t got the right staff anymore to many people standing around talking and not working Need someone to manage the place a lot better. Poor Managment
Awesome cakes as usual, great range of teas. New location is much bigger, much better than lining up at the door to get a seat
Always loved Armageddon. Now that they have moved premises it isn't as squashy and could spread out a bit. Food is amazing as always. Wait staff friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend this Geelong institution.
Went with friends who had never been before and both totally enjoyed the whole experience. They both said they would bring their family back for the coffee and delicious cake.
Never disappointed! Great staff and awesome cakes and coffee.
I booked a table , but was given couches.
This was OK for that occasion, but maybe should be an option when booking.
Cakes were outstanding
We had dinner out for two birthdays 🎈 we then went to Armageddon for cake 🍰 Our group consisted of 7 people and we ordered the party selection, every cake plus sauces for $85. The cakes had all been so yummy, we had drinks too! We had to ask for plates but was given quickly. We waited a short time to pay. This place took over lease to a very sophisticated dining place and I wish they had taken up that look. I don’t like the overall look of the place but can overlook that cause it’s all about the cakes 😊
Really nice. I miss the old place but this new place is good too
It was my daughters 12th birthday the staff were amazing and came and sang happy birthday to her as well. Staff were so friendly and we loved a family game of uno to add make the family time together so much more rewarding especially for the kids.
I had the pumpkin pie I was disappointed with the size I would call it more a flan and it didn’t wow me with the flavour it was pleasant but not earth shattering. I was expecting so much more as a friend had recommended Armageddon and raved about it. The display cabinet wasn’t appealing the deserts look as though they have been there for months!
The food was great, the venue was good. Only negative was waiting for our reserved table and not getting our coffees until 30 minutes after getting our food.
I ordered the apple and berry crumble received an apple, sultana and apricot crumble. Sent it back and got the right order. It was simply a pile of mushed up apple pieces like something you would feed a baby absolute joke and waste of money.
Nothing else on menu I can have due to allergies very disappointing!
Not as quirky as the old location but they only just moved
Desserts were fantastic and the new larger premises a better decision compared to the former much smaller layout. Staff friendly, but still not a five star in service, the little things forgotten, no cutlery supplied, no milk offered, table rickety it felt the screws would fall out any minute, and it took half an hour to get slices of cake at 9pm on a Tuesday night - hardly a rushed off their feet evening? Dessert is always fantastic, but not worth frequenting if you are in a hurry or want to impress.
I have been going to Armageddon since it opened and sadly, this was the most disappointing times I have been :(
There was a lack of cosy atmosphere, the lighting needed to be dimmed way down and unfortunately, the kitch, kooky and fun feel was gone.
It took a long time to get served and even longer for our food to arrive. We had finished our pots of tea before the food came.
Our desserts were generally delicious, except the fruit crumble was watery and had no taste.
I have been on dates at AC in the past, but wouldn’t take a date here as the atmosphere and fun factor had been lost :(
We chatted about it as a group who had been too many times to count and we are hoping that as it is a new venue and has only been open a little while, these are some easy kinks to iron out! And we take into consideration that they were also very busy!
Hopefully after a little while and when everything settles down with the new venue, the old Armageddon will be back!!
It was incredibly busy in Geelong due to White Night, but slightly annoying to have to flag service down three times to even be able to order. Many thanks to the staff member not assigned to our table for bringing water over after waiting 20 minutes for some!
Still nice, but unfortunately has lost the ambience in the larger venue which was part of the charm.
The original one was much better ambience the new one feels like nanna,s house and outdated decor and mismatched Chinese restaurant. Needs to be updated to a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
Only problem is finding a park in the evening when the car parks are closed. Other than that the venue and food are amazing, great decor and atmosphere where a fun or qiet time can be had!
This cake bar has lost its quirky homely and retro one of a kind feel since moving to the new bigger premises .. it now is just like every mass produced commercial business .. have to say the cakes have gone down hill since the business opened and pricing is now reficuloyd for what you taste and what you get.. I think I will be finding a new sweets place in the future a real shame !
New location is not as quirky or interesting, but food & service we’re still awesome
Wish the new venue was the same vibe as the old venue! This new one is cold, way too bright and uncomfortable. The staff were completely run off their feet so we had to wait 45mins for one piece of cake. So unfortunate as we love the old fashioned, cosy feeling from the old venue and now it’s the exact opposite!
If you eat dessert FIRST! like I do, then you are a dessert aficionado!
The desserts here are well worth the trip to centre city in Geelong.
Good vibe, good service, good CAKE.
Only negative - while I appreciate and indulge in vintage (aka second hand) some
things need to be thrown out or refurbished... like a couple of the chairs at Armageddon
But don't let that stop you from enjoying the great SWEETS.
Potion sized have gotten so much smaller than at the start which is such a shame. I go regularly and sometimes the sizes are that small it’s not enough to share really. That’sy only bad thing I have to say
Was amazing- something sweet for the kids , something fruity for Dad, vegan gluten free for Mum. Ticked all the boxes- will definitely be back
The food was a let down, after all the great reviews I expected it to be amazing. Unfortunately I didn't really enjoy it. The service was great and it is a nice quirky quiet place to have a catch up with friends. Bit to expensive for the quality of food.
Yummy cakes including options for those with dietary requirements.
Needed more description of the menu items. Seating is cramped, I imagine it may be better if you had table and chairs, we were on an uncomfortable sofa setup trying to eat desserts that had frozen section on our laps. One wait staff was swearing at the “screen” not sure if it was call coming in or orders - unprofessional either way
Great size serving and yummy iced choccy. Plenty of options! Friendly staff. Would go again!
Yum yum yum feed your gluttony with awesome cakes🤪 and play board games at the same time
The chai cheesecake was honestly life changing. So yum and the gluten free and vegan option were amazing
