Amazing dinner! Shared the Paella between 3 adults and still had leftovers. Lovely atmosphere outside on the patio next to the fireplace. Phenomenal service too!
Our server Jennifer was amazing! She made the experience so much fun and enjoyable. Can’t wait to come back!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Best lamb meatball ever. Definitely will be back!
This restaurant was amazing! The lemon pepper halibut was the best halibut in an amazing carrot butter sauce! The dessert was delicious. The service was wonderful and the overall experience was incredible! Amazing meal/dinner to end our vacation experience.
Pretty nice place, the food was really good we enjoed it a lot. This is definitely a place to visit once again when I'm back in San Diego
We love this place! Service is excellent, food is delicious. The outdoor patio is spacious and great people watching. Avocado and poke plate is a must! The homemade sourdough is crispy on the outside and warm and soft inside- absolute Perfection.
Had a great dinner for our guys night out.. food was Amazing! Chef Josh's menu is beautifully done.. that Charcuterie de Mar! Wow.. Arlo definitely has a bright future.. ! Can't wait to see what's next in the future menu. 100% a can't miss stop , if your in San Diego.
It was wonderful… service ( Jennifer ) was so nice and the was amazing . Love the sourdough bread . Pork chop was wonderful. Love to return
Amazing food experience!
Definitely a modern dining and unique flavors!
Great place for a food adventure.
Good experience. Will come back.
We decided to have dinner during the week so it wasn't busy. Our server Jennifer was very attentive and checked on us often. We started with sourdough bread and shared an Avocado and Ahi plate. Then for entree, my guy ordered rabbit wrapped in bacon with a side of carrots and I got scallop and clam with a side of wild mushroom. Everything tasted delicious. We were looking forward to dessert, but did not what they had on the menu which was disappointing since everything else exceeded our expectation. They should revised their dessert menu. Overall, we would go back again just to eat the Avocado and Ahi dish again.
Delicious, creative food. Took a long, long time for service. Also, the outdoor tables are right next to screaming children in the pool, which I found happy but changes the ambience for most fancy food eating places.
Had over cooked paella for table. Had to ask for plates to share. The mussels were like bullets. Too much liquid smoke. Also had short ribs. Tender but not much flavor. We don't add salt to our food usually, but needed it.
We have 2 lovely cocktails, The Silk Road off the menu and then a Manhattan, both were very well crafted. The Silk Road was very well balanced, with exotic flavors that did overpower or feel gimmicky.
Do yourself a favor an order the sourdough. There is nothing better than fresh hot bread, and this stuff had a incredibly crispy crunchy crust that was not too think and a gloriously soft and warm inside. It served with soft butter (the soft is important) briny sea salt to sprinkle on and a some honey. The honey was a surprise and it was so tasty with the sourdough.
For our mains we had the Spaniard flatbread, and the Taste of Ribeye. The Spaniard was one of those simple but hard to do right pizzas, each topping serving a purpose to create an overall delicious balance. The crust was thing, but not too crispy. The other main we had was the Taste of Ribeye. It was fantastic! Lovely flavorful cut of meat cooked t perfection, with just a splash of a sauce and a few vegetables. The meat was the front and center. It was a large serving and we easily could have could have split it.
This place is fancy and has a fancy menu with fancy prices. But considering it's in hotel restaurant the prices were actually reasonable and the food was well beyond "hotel" quality. Our meal was well worth the price.
We ate early and recently post pandemic rules, so it was pretty empty so I'm not sure about sound levels, but it has nice out door seating, the view is mostly of the hotel's center courtyard and the hotel pool. (the pool is at a distance, no chlorines smells or splashing) It felt very Californian, a great opportunity to enjoy San Diego's incredible weather.
I would totally recommend for date nights, or when you are feeling fancy. (but make sure everyone going is open to some adventurous flavor combos, or have them look over the menu online.
Excellent food, great atmosphere. Very creative cocktails!
Everything is excellent! Phenomenal food, drinks and service! Chef Josh, Mario and Fontaine are awesome!
Arlo is now on track! If you tried it earlier and had a rocky experience give it another try. It was a fantastic evening - great food, new menu items, excellent service and the setting is like your in Palm Springs for the night!
Thank you Karl, We appreciate your great review. it was lovely having you back! Monia and the Arlo team.
Mother’s Day brunch
We appreciate the 5 stars!
Absolutely scrumptious. Modern open setting. Mother’s Day brunch options executed well.
We appreciate the 5 stars!
This place is amazing. All the food was delicious and the staff was very accommodating and kind despite us being a large group of rowdy women. I picked this place due to our group being large for Mother's Day and they had the availability. I was so scared because Hotel Circle is always hit or miss when it comes to what they offer. I've been catfish before by a hotel in the area looking good online but being garbage. The Arlo actually exceeded what my expectations were and I will definitely be going back for brunch.
We appreciate the 5 stars!
Had a nice Mother's Day Brunch here today. Food and ambiance was nice. Service was a little lacking but ok overall. Food was pretty good but a little pricey, which was expected given that it was Mother's Day.
Perfect dinner in San Diego!! Highly recommend:)
We appreciate the 5 stars!
Dinner was delicious and the remodel looks amazing.
We appreciate the 5 stars!
The appetizers and entrées were delicious. great customer service. all in all we enjoyed our experience at ARLO. The only thing I would give a slight negative comment about is their dessert menu. It is not that good. We tried two different dishes. It’s “meh” at best. But I will go and dine at ARLO again.
Food was excellent and service was warm and friendly. There were a couple minor missteps service wise (order specialty Negroni from menu and wine service was a bit awkward/ordered a bottle and had one preset wine glass removed from the table, bottle didn’t come out and had to ask for it later, glass was then taken from nearby table to replace the one taken earlier), but nothing that negatively affected our meal.
Food was outstanding. Bread service was fun and unique(I usually prefer brioche to sourdough but this was delicious). Soup shooters were quirky and tasty (corn soup was a little too thick). Halibut and pork entrees were flawless.
Creme brûlée was a little overly smoked for my taste, the burnt croissant tasted burnt, and the brûlée was really light(i assume the croissant was supposed to provide the missing texture from a crisp brûlée). The creme brûlée was the “worst” dish of the evening but that’s mostly because I am very particular with my creme brûlées.
Definitely would come back and recommend Arlo to anyone looking for a great meal
Took a little bit too get seated. Once seated everything was great.
We really enjoy our time at ARLO in the newly renovated Town and Country resort in San Diego. We have visited twice within the past month. The chef is so innovative and a true master of his craft. All of the ingredients are seasonal and beautifully presented. We love dining out on the terrace overlooking the beautifully maintained resort grounds. We have ordered the Bolognese during both visits and have truly enjoyed the salads and artisan flatbreads as well. We would highly recommend this newly added gem!
We appreciate the 5 stars!
ARLO is kind of a hidden oasis. We live around the corner and didn't even know that was back there! The food was delicious and they offer a full bar with cool specialty cocktails. I would say it is a little pricy for a casual happy hour. This would be more of a special dinner kind of place. However, the view of the pool and overall atmosphere was really awesome. I would definitely return! The flatbreads are....delish! Even the next day :)
Thank you for the kind review!
This is a hotel restaurant. Our 'server' was sub-par. Was energetic as all with cocktails but knew nothing about the food. Had drink specials but no food specials. Suggested the most expensive thing on the menu and it was nothing special. The Halibut was really good - but asked the 'server' how they got the smokiness in the carrot sauce and was told they add smoke to it. The back waiter was attentive and should have been our waiter. Because it is a hotel restaurant the bill was completely confusing. Will never go back and I am disappointed that OpenTable pushed this as an option.
My husband and I dined at Arlo for our anniversary and had a great experience. The restaurant is spacious, beautiful, and offers indoor and outdoor seating options. The food is great. I enjoyed the Sourdough bread and lamb meatballs appetizers. The Mission mile drink is very tasty! The halibut and pork is also delicious and the presentation is beautiful Evan our waiter was also AMAZING! Very attentive, gave great recommendations, and made sure my husband and I had a great experience. I would definitely recommend Arlo for any occasion.
We always feel welcomed and at home when dining at Arlo
Excellent quality in food and plating! The waiter was top notch. Overall it was an awesome experience!!
The food was okay. Nothing so special comparing to the prices. The restaurant didn’t have a kids menu and they had to verbally tell us what they can do when we asked for one. I went there for the drinks and I’m very disappointed to be honest. I ordered a $15 cocktail and I was expecting a nice presentation especially after seeing photos on their website. Nope, all I got was a tall glass with a straw. No garnish no nothing and it tasted like a watered down margarita. If you’re going there with family and kids, absolutely look somewhere else or read their menu before making reservations.
For us, it was just ok, no overly impressed with any of the items we ordered. The pulpo was just ok, the ravioli was too thick and the sauce was dry. The duck trio was just ok. I did love the s’mores dessert.
This restaurant is amazing! It’s truly a hidden gem! The best flat bread they have there is called “Funghi” and their “Memories of Maui” is to DIE FOR!
The food was excellent. We started with a paella appetizer that was shared with the whole table. It was great. Most of us had the striped sea bass which was beautifully prepared. It was a great meal. We sat outdoor and the setting was lovely.
Great place for dinner and drinks without the fuss. This is a hidden gem!
Our family always has a great experience at Arlo. It’s our favorite neighborhood restaurant. We love Chef Josh’s creativity and the use of fresh seasonal ingredients.
Thank you kindly for the great review!
The mid century modern vibe is what first attracted me to the Town and Country hotel. The on site dining options were a plus. The cool and classy atmosphere of ARLO was inviting from start to finish. We started our meal at the bar and indulged in the Paloma and the Mezcal Old Fashioned. The Paloma was refreshing And the Mezcal Old Fashioned really packed a punch! The sourdough bread is a bite that I will dream about, smothered in butter and drenched in smoked sea salt. Do indulge in the Charcuterie De Mer... the yellow tail was so flakey and light and I had to resist the urge to drink the pickle jar it was so tart and crisp and delicious. Our main courses did not disappoint... scallops and clams for me and short rib and spot prawn for the Mr. A perfect mix of flavors and portion size. Since we’re on vacation we splurged on dessert. The Mr. opted for the Light Truffle flight which was devoured in seconds. The Creme Brûlée, for me, was the only miss of the meal... the smokiness was interesting and unfortunately, I’m not a fan but that’s a personal preference. I think it would have been just fine without the pageantry.
