Super excited about the re-opening of Arlo Grey. We were only in town for a night and after thinking about it long and hard trying to decide going for dinner or brunch, I said to myself - why not both?
The restaurant is beautiful, clean, and tables are properly socially distanced. We feel very safe for both meals. The staff were friendly and service was great.
My favorite dishes from these 2 meals are - fried steamed buns, burrata, bowl of fries, avocado toast, and french toast. Their bread is just phenomenal! And no matter what you do, do not skip the fries! I eat a lot of fries and I honestly think they have one of the best.
Looking forward to our next visit!

As a big fan of Kristen, and Top Chef, I’d been looking forward to dining at Arlo Grey since it opened. And it was so worth the wait!
The ambience is intimate and sexy, and we enjoyed our tucked away table. Our server had great food recommendations, and was so nice. Drinks were great (get the spicy margarita). Every single dish we had was outstanding, specially the appetizers. They were so unique. The portions were big, which we weren’t expecting. Usually at upscale restaurants you’re lucky if you get 2 pieces of food, that was not the case here. We ended up ordering WAY too much food, and left so full. Highly recommend the beans, and the crispy rice (this tasted like a deconstructed paella, which I absolutely loved). Our entrees were delicious! Ive been thinking about that burger since I left. Our favorite dish ended up being the Mafaldine pasta, which I ended up eating half of it for breakfast at 7 am, that’s how good it was. Don’t judge me.
We loved the progression of our meal, because it was timed slowly and without rush. We felt like we were DINING and not just eating. Everyone wanted us to have a nice night.
Food aside, the best part of my night was getting to meet the talented head chef. I’m a big fan of Kristen, and I wanted to show support and buy her cookbook while I was there. Chef Kish came to our table with a signed book for me, introduced herself, and had a lovely conversation with us. She was so gracious and kind to us, even if I’m sure I was acting like a Starstruck weirdo lol. It was so incredibly lovely of her to take time with us. She also sent us a plate of food (that amazing pasta) just because she had heard we’d asked about it earlier. She truly made my night! You can just see she’s passionate about her restaurant, and the experience everyone has when they are there.
It was such a memorable night for me and I can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend Arlo Grey & I’m so looking forward to seeing what Kristen
Unpleasantly surprised with their service. Main course Food service was very late and overall service was just ok. Surprised that 18% gratuity was mandatory and built in to the bill. Guess the resto knew with their substandard service tips would be hard to come by. Not knocking on the staff but the resto really felt like they did not have their act together. Staff seemed they were not happy. Too bad... consider me a one visit customer.

Everything about the experience was truly magical. Strongly recommend the Mafaldini and Hearty Green Salad as a greens and grains course. We had the Butter Roasted Halibut and Fried Chicken as our protein course. Both were outstanding, artful and a bit playful. To top off the night we had the pleasure of meeting the amazing chef Kristen Kish. If you are looking for a memorable dinner with sexy cocktails and beautiful ambiance, this is your spot. Oh, and the service was superb!
Had the best meal at Arlo Grey this weekend! The space is beautifully designed and the whole staff was very kind! It was a special experience. I had the Steak Frits and it was perfect! This is a must stop when you’re in Austin.
Very creative and flavorful menu. The atmosphere had air of plants which gives it a very relaxing, natural ambiance.
This was definitely the highlight at our stay at The Line.
Was lucky enough to snag a table on reopening night! I had the Garden Margarita which was dangerously delicious. Very light and refreshing, went perfectly with the Cacio e Pepe White Beans starter that I chose. Careful with this one because it’s served piping hot! I really liked how perfectly the crisp, cold, lemony endive went with the macerated beans.
Next, I had the Mafaldini which had this amazing sauce of mushroom and cheese, very flavorful and indulgent yet not heavy. I would eat that everyday!
And for dessert, I went with the Double Chocolate Cookies (yes, plural) which were baked to order so they arrived all warm and gooey. Each order comes with three freshly baked cookies and a delicious caramel sauce that had a slight coconut taste to it, though on the menu it’s described as an espresso caramel.
Service was top-notch! Every single person was friendly, professional, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Sang and Bran were extremely welcoming, and were attentive but not to the point of hovering.
Highest compliments to the chef as well for running such a fine restaurant! The entire experience was wonderful, the drinks were delicious, the food was fantastic, and the staff was superb!
Arlo Grey reopened and it was just fantastic. Chef Kish returned with a slightly smaller version of her menu, highlighting the classic items and reflecting the reality of reduced operating capacity. The restaurant is quiet and the tables are socially distanced. The staff is meticulous in their serving protocols. We enjoyed the chips and hummus to start. Then we had the green salad, burrata and malfidini. Finished with the halibut, steak frites and chicken. Each dish was perfectly executed and precisely plated, fully reflecting the talented Chef Kish. Make a reservation and go as soon as you can! DON'T SKIP THE POTATO CHIPS!!!!!!
Amazing food, service, & decor!
My first experience at Arlo Grey was very good! The restaurant is beautiful with great river views, especially during the sunset. We tried five different dishes split between 3 people and left full and happy.

Very nice of them to give a round of champagne for 6 for my wife’s 30th bday AND a free ice cream sandwich at the end of brunch. Service and dining experience we exceptional! We loved this place!

Business dinner meeting
Louis was our waiter and he as informative, prompt, and personable. The vibe, energy, and fusion food of Arlo Grey is tops!
Butter lettuce salad was delicious, craveable. My wife had a burger which she also said was surprisingly yummy, though difficult to eat (messy).
I had the ditalini pasta which was interesting, but forgettable.
We are trying new Brunch places and Austin and this one was fantastic. Very interesting and tasty simple but gourmet dishes.
Stunning restaurant, and the food was exceptional. I would recommend going multiple times and trying something new.
First, we were there for our 19th anniversary! Got off to a great start with complimentary bubbles. Our server was cheerful and engaging which made the evening more fun. We are vegetarian which make fine dining a gamble sometime. The tasting menu had many choices… innovative and fun ones. The wine chooses were great. The wine we were steered towards was a winner... Mark Wood Pinot. We took uber… Finally, they have redesigned from the old Radisson days. Opened up... trendy and now reunited with the river views. Give Arlo Grey a try!

Great spot for a business meal. The food was fantastic, great drink selection and good ambiance. Enough noise to have a conversation but not too quiet where it feels uncomfortable. Highly recommend!
Everything we tried was amazing!!! The only thing I would improve on is the deserts. Although, we really wanted the cheesecake they were out of it. Nothing besides that was super appealing but we got the chocolate cake and the amaretto cookies. They were underwhelming. I got coffee to go with my desert. It was really good good, but I had to wait a bit to try it because the coffee mug didn't have a handle. It was entirely too hot to hold. I loved the look of the mug but not practical. I can't wait to go back and try other things on the main menu as well as the cheesecake.

The kitchen was slow so we had to wait quite a while for our food. Our waiter informed us about it when they took our order and offered us free drinks from the bar. The wait service was outstanding as was the food. We did also have to wait to be seated 5-10 minutes while they cleared and set up a table for us, though there were empty tables for 2 throughout the restaurant already set up. I think the overall management of the restaurant including seating and managing the preparation of food needs help, but the waitstaff and the food were outstanding, so yes, we will be back!
I travelled to Austin, and I was so excited to try this restaurant, especially since I’m a big Top Chef fan. I’ve tried Paul Qui’s restaurants in Austin the first time I was there, and since then East Side Kings has become one of my favorites.
Sad to say, but this restaurant did not deliver. The cocktails were not good. The service was very slow, and lacking. We had to send the Scallop Ceviche back because there was so much vinegar in it, we couldn’t even taste anything. The White Bean Parmesan and the Rabbit Pot Pie were the only things that stood out, those two dishes I would highly recommend getting if you’re there. We had the Truffle Ravioli, but it was nothing amazing.
I was really hoping that the dessert would be good, but it was a dense cake, that had no taste.
Disappointed. The place is beautiful though.

Enjoyed every dish, only the cod fell flat. Had a great seat-perched up high and able to see all the restaurants comings and goings. The white beans were divine, and helped to overlook the service of the wrong wine-which was quickly corrected. We took our chocolate cake to go-a mistake, as it was quite dry by the time we dug in later that night. Very much enjoyed the experience, and we’ll be back!
We were so excited to eat at Kristen Kish’s restaurant. I’m a huge Top Chef fan and moving here from Chicago, I’ve have eaten at many of the contestants restaurants. Perhaps my expectations were too high but I was disappointed. My fav dish by far was the crispy rice. Wonderful flavor and unique! But the other 5 courses were either bland or over seasoned. There were even unexpected bones in the rabbit. A diet specialty order was incorrect, the wait staff did not explain what we were eating and the service was slow. I hate to write negative reviews, but I know you can do better. Thank you!
The grey in Arlo Grey aptly describes the grey chalk all of their food tastes like. The service was quite good. Ambiance was ok. But the food, what we actually came for, terrible and especially terrible because of the prices they charge. The Burrata, I’d rather have grocery store cottage cheese. Pretty sure the special dessert cake this night came off of a grocery store shelf as well as the ice cream that must have come from the grocery store freezer section. Not much of a Valentine’s dinner. Disappointed and there are many other better choices in Austin. Not going back, despite the good service.
This restaurant has great potential, nice space, good music, spacious.
1. To the person that used o ly one side of a two-sided menu card and made the font so small that even the wait staff couldn't read it with in this dimmly lit space, they should be tarred & feathered! Everyone and I mean everyone from the twenty somethings to the mature crowd was unable to read the menu, this is wholly unacceptable when you are spending $100+ per person.
2. So my wife does not read Spanish, I do, but the Waitress seemed to be doing my job so I checked a few emails. To our surprise my wife ordered 2 servings of the Scallop Crudo without being informed that Crudo meant raw. Well let's just say that I caught quite a lot of flack for allowing this to happen, abysmal.
3. In a town like Austin with all the various real and imaginary dietary restrictions, Scallops Crudos was the only seafood choice on the menu. This restaurant is obviously out of touch with the Austinite crowd.
4. The bar, while nicely designed, is very poorly stocked, there were 3 or 4 choices for single malt Scotch, but tons of fruity vodkas and liqueurs, perhaps their target audience is those who dine at this levl periodically as opposed to regularly.
5. For this sweethearts day I learned that they closed off the normally open seating in the bar area, high-top 2 & 4 seaters and turned them into 'reserved seating'. This did not sit well with 3 of the hotel guests who had been accustomed to sitting in the bar area freely, when they were rousted by the host and told that it was reserved, obviously this change was not well communicated.
All and all, I can spend $50 less for a graet meal at Eddie V's, Capital Grille or Bob's Steakhouse without the surprises and inconvenience, don't waste your time. Besides the diced raw tasteless scallops, I had the Surf & Turf, the portions were extremely puny and you will need a taco or two after this meal.
Overall great! Favorite place in town. The table we were sat at for our Valentine meal was strange though. My husband and I were in the middle of a very long table With couples at either end that was also so wide it was hard to talk and I could not reach across to hold his hand. I moved to the other side, but it was very bizarre seating. Still would/will go back. The staff and food is amazing.
