Good food but reviews said $. Prices were $18 and up for entrees, salad for 2 was $13. We expected with $ there would be $12 and up. Pretty much no gluten free options. Probably won’t return.
Went for our first time. It was a nice place with good food. Parking was difficult and the menus were difficult to read. But overall a pleasant experience.
I've eaten at Aristo's many times as it is close to home. It has gone downhill quickly. My visit tonight was nothing short of awful. Mains were delivered as appetizers, appetizers were delivered after mains and no one had their food delivered nearly close to the same time, The server was nice, but not apologetic. One of the meals got delivered so late, I just asked for it to go. When it came back, they only gave me half of the order. The rest didn't fit in the container, so they threw it away. Maybe they should have given me 2 containers?
This was the third less than successful visit.
It's officially off my list and I won't come back.
The restaurant was closed so we didn’t get to eat lunch!
Service was amazing! Waiter was so helpful in walking our group through the menu.
Aristo offers authentic Greek food and a fairly good wine selection. The service is friendly and knowledgable. They accommodated us on an evening when we wished to dine by sharing many small plates. The server was helpful with suggestions, pairing different plates and staggering the service so we had time to really savor each dish. Perfect for before theater at Pioneer Memorial Theater or Kingsbury, as it is within walking distance of either.
I've been a big fan of Aristo's for several years and have frequently hosted business lunches at the restaurant. On December 7 I took a family group of nine there before a concert at Kingsbury Hall. I made the reservation several weeks before the event. Upon arrival, at 5:30, I told both the receptionist and the waitress that we had a concert at 7:00. We sat down at 5:30. The waitress was slow and disengaged. She took our orders at about 5:45. I again reminded her we had a concert at 7. We didn't get our food until 6:45. Not a single drink was refilled. And I had to press her for the bill. I complained to her and the receptionist. Other than a couple of quick "sorries," no adjustment was made to the bill and we were ignored when we left. Aristo's has good food -- no problem there -- but I was really, really disappointed by the service and utter lack of engagement. I'll give Aristo's another try, but felt very let down by the whole experience. What hurt the most is that I'd been telling my family for days what a great place it was. We were ignored.
The food was excellent. Service was great. Our one complaint was it was extremely cold inside the restaurant.
The restaurant was slammed with a huge pre-theater crowd. Naturally everyone had to leave at the same time, but the kitchen and our server managed to pull it off and the food, as always, was wonderful.
Great food as always.
The food was great and our server was great, but the hostess was incredibly rude to us and a number of other individuals who were looking to see if they had a table.
I was disappointed that the server failed to bring the salad I ordered. Pleased to find it wasn’t included on the bill. Aside from that the food was well prepared and it was an enjoyable post-theatre meal. Easy act from Pioneer Memorial Theatre. Parking in the area is awful.
The food was generally very soso: I have had much better food at the fastfood Greek. The fries were outright awful: cold and floppy. I suspect microwave involvement. I do acknowledge the response of the kitchen to send us a warm portion- but I still think it was microwaved and it was still floppy.
Great service and delicious food. We’ll be back. No need to add anything further.
We loved everything about this place. Yes, it’s a pricey restaurant. But for a special occasion, it’s definitely worth it. If I could try to think of something that was negative....well, there really wasn’t anything....except when we walked in, there were only two other people/groups there. They wanted to seat us right next to another table Instead of spreading us out a bit. Not a big deal though, we just asked to move to a different table.
Great food. Slow kitchen. We were there over an hour because we ordered lamb ribs. Everyone around us got there after and left before.
We loved it! The food was delicious and the ambiance perfect. Our waiter was awesome! Would absolute recommend and return ourselves if ever in town again.
Aristo's has the best Greek food in Utah. Plus some innovative takes (ex. Gyro sliders, lamb tacos) on classic Greek dishes and octopus to die for.
We eat here a lot and this visit was not good. The server was really nice but the food was not good at all. We were very disappointed. It took a very long time to get our food and it was served so that we got the side of rice alone at the end of the meal. The lamb riblets were way over done, total charcoal taste. We might need to take a break for awhile.
Brought the family in for my wifes birthday. The grand kiddies loves the lamb tacos! Everything was great!
I ordered something with chicken and the rice was salty. My husband ordered something with lamb and he loved
Upscale Greek restaurant located in the University area of Salt Lake City . Street/public parking all around. They have an outdoor seating area which is lovely on an cool evening. We chose to sit inside, where it was equally nice. Our waiter was quite helpful. The menu selection was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience there.
We enjoyed their twice baked eggplant dish, their lamb chops, and their Gigantes white bean stewed in tomato sauce.
Aristo's was recommended by a lady from Australia whom we met at the Greek Festival! If you know her, tell her thanks! My friend and I like to try new places that aren't a chain and we're both happy to find SLC is maturing! It's great to find a grown-up restaurant to enjoy without kids or babies to deal with. Thanks!
Everything was absolutely perfect!! It's definitely on the return list!
Menu was fun, and our waiter was very knowledgeable. He helped us navigate through the menu. We shared the lamb shank entree and had soup to start....both were very good. Will come back.
Authentic Greek food with friendly service. Lots of choices, easy to share, fun Bouzouki music on Thursday night. Opa!
Our lamb chops were good but could have been hotter, but what really impressed me was the extensive wine list, how little those wines were marked up, and how professionally our young server handled a spoiled bottle. We ordered at 2004 Lebanese wine that has received 90+ scores from all the major professionals. The cork on our first bottle showed signs of leakage and tasted oxidized. Our server quickly offered to open a second bottle, which turned out to be absolutely delicious. If this had been a business meeting the entire exchange would probably have gone unnoticed, which is the way it should be.
I love Aristo's. Great food, great atmosphere and the owner and employees go out of their way to make sure you have a good experience.
We had heard great things from friends, but the food was bland and average. I would not go again nor would I recommend it.
Great variety of Greek dishes. Very well prepared, simple and thoughtful presentation and excellent service. Servers, hostess and owners take pride in the food and service. Customers were coming back to enjoy a favorite dish but were also interested in trying something new. So excited to find the restaurant!
Took my brother who was in town from Boise, Idaho. We saw this on food networks triple D and decided to give it a try. Pleasantly surprised. Meals were delicious, especially the grilled octopus. So tender and delicate. The other dishes were fantastic too. Can't really spell the dishes, but everyone was amazing. Our server was very attentive and she was very helpful in her menu suggestions. Definitely coming back!!!
Awesome Greek food!
We went for a double date, it was a great night that started here.
Great food, very much traditional Greek food. we had a great meal.
The most amazing Greek menu in town. The hummus and other dips are fantastic. Thank you for having worthy vegetarian options.
We dined at Aristos after a 3 year gap. We had always loved the ambiance, food, the welcoming smile of the senior proprietor and the feel of true Greek culture.
Sad to say, save for the food which is still authentic and fantastic, all other attributes mentioned above have gone lost.
It's setting now is fit for college students. Not for mature couples looking for a romantic dining experience.
We shared an appetizer sampler of spreads, Greek salad and calamari. All were delicious. Then we shared a flight of gyros and the lamb chop. The garlic veggies were a little too garlicky for my taste but the lamb chop was the best I've had. Great relaxing restaurant.
The food is great, the patio fabulous, the service okay.
We have been going to Aristo's for years, but tonight neither the service nor the food were up to their usual standards. While the drinks and appetizer arrived quickly enough, the requested extra pitas and the main course took a very long time to appear. When main course was finally served, it seemed like the plates had been sitting under the heat lamp for a while. The meat in the lamb/beef gyros was dried out, the fries were limp and over salted. The server never asked if we wanted refills on our beer and wine. Based on tonight's visit, I would not recommend this restaurant. Let's hope it was a one-time fluke.
Authentic cuisine, quality service and reasonable prices at this inviting neighborhood setting.
