AriBella services Shelton residents with Italian cuisine within a warm, friendly environment. The establishment gets its name from the owner’s youngest daughter just as some the dishes served are also named after friends or loved ones the owner knows. AriBella pays homage to traditional Italian trattorias with authentic Italian fare and a style that is representative of a Trattoria.
Sautéed clams, scungilli salad, scalloppine Emiliane, pollo parmigiano, gnocchi di mamma Francesca and capellini puttanesca are just some of the food items available. Make sure to check out the happy hour menu at AriBella for a list of wines, martinis, cocktails and domestic or imported bottled beers.
The atmosphere was cute and comfy. I would suggest a business casual attire. No need for a prom dress, ladies - but dress pants for guys or gals seems about right. The location was a bit tricky. Not too noticeable from the street - watch for the sign out front!! I recommend parking on the side lot & walking down the driveway around the back patio to the side entrance rather than parking in the back lot, which was a bit "tight". The reservation helped, no wait. The hostess was very kind & attentive, especially when I said we hadn't been there. Very nice, night out with my husband. Not too loud, not too quiet. I had the appetizer, fried mozzarella, which was different & would definitely order again. 2 small round pieces of very fresh mozzarella on a bed of arugula salad. For dinner I had the Pollo Florentina, which was delicious. Chicken, with fresh spinach & mozzarella with mashed potato. My husband had a cold seafood salad for an appetizer which he loved and for his main dish he had Pappardelle Amantea, which was home made pasta with clams, calamari, shrimp, scallops in a spicy marinara. No room for dessert! To end my long review - it was a quick decision to go here, very happy with the restaurant & the delicious food, we would absolutely return!!! The only thing that was a 3 star worthy comment was the waiter was a bit slow. We couldn't tell if he had a lot of other tables, but the wait between apps, dinner, check would've been much more appealing if it were quicker. He was very nice though, including the bus boy. Professionalism & friendliness was there. My husband & I recommend this restaurant without hesitation. Form your own opinion but at least you'll get a good meal. The home made pasta is what I'm going back (soon) for next since he said his was phenomenal & that was most of the meals I kept seeing come out. Yum...I'm hungry now! Haha. Do yourself a favor - come here! Hats off to the chef & staff. Bravo!
This was our second time eating here, and we were very excited as our first time here was wonderful. Tonight the service was very slow. One person's seafood was overcooked (a bit rubbery) and one person's plate had been under the lights on one side a while, as half his plate was hot, and half was tepid. The server was personable and lovely when we saw him but a bit overextended. Sitting outside was perfect!! It was quiet and the patio is very pleasant. Perhaps because we were sitting outside the problems occurred. We shall definitely try again.
very pleased with food, service, ambiance - looking forward to returning soon - highly recommend !!!
The grilled romaine salad is delicious. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal. Expensive, but worth it.
Every thing was very good. Initial service was a little slow but nothing major. Very enjoyable experience
My overall experience was good but the noise level was high. When the place is full as it was, we had to raise our voices to hold a conversation. I don’t like that. I prefer a more quiet and cozy ambience. The goat cheese salad was delicious and the fried calamari was tender but not flavorful. My husband had the veal Marsala and he enjoyed it, O had penne with peas and it was so hard to chew. I don’t mind al dente, but this was plain hard. Next time, if I order pasta, I will ask to cook it through for me. I would recommend and we will go again, but not to have a conversation.
Phenomenonal! Best Ever! A Shelton Masterpiece! Heavenly!
Food was delicious and served quickly. Staff was extremely friendly and it was very quiet and comfortable in the restaurant.
Always a great meal
Have dined here many times and the food is usually very good. Everyone at the table basically cleaned their plates. Large menu with something for everyone.
Excellent meal and service.
An excellent dining experience every time we come to Aribella.
The food and value are amazing!
Love this restaurant!
Very good Italian restaurant. Linguini and clam was excellent. Nice atmosphere. Can be a little loud at times but overall a very good to excellent dining experience.
We met another couple for dinner on Saturday night. This is a favorite restaurant for my husband and I. The food is always fantastic, no matter what we order. Service was great - we were catching up with friends and never felt the pressure to hurry up and order/eat. Before we knew it, we had been at the table for 2 1/2 hours. The staff is very kind and courteous, offering up suggestions when we couldn't decide between entrees. I highly recommend this restaurant for a quality Italian dinner.
My parents were in town so we treated them to a nice dinner. We’ve been many times and do enjoy the menu. After studying the menu for a while, my mom ordered the Osso Bucco and the rest of us placed our orders. When the food arrived, my mom received a plate of ravioli and announced politely she had the wrong dish. The waitress said no, that was her order and went to grab the rest. Knowing my mom had ordered the Osso Bucco, I repeated her order and confirmed what she had communicated to the waitress upon taking our original order. Rather than admit the miscommunication, the waitress grew defensive and stated, “but you never said ‘special’” to which I replied, “She never said ravioli, either.” None of us knew there was a ravioli version of Osso Bucco on the menu. As a waitress, if you know the menu, it’s you’re job to clarify to ensure proper communication. The worst part is that there was no fix—my mom was gracious and ate the meal served rather than request a new meal. Nothing was taken off the bill, not the wrong entree, dessert, or even a cup of coffee. All around, the service was lacking and the customer service skills were poor to say the least. So disappointing!
Seated on time...great drinks, excellent appetizers, perfectly cooked food with great service! Desserts are homemade and delicious. I always have an excellent experience at Aribella.
Great food! Going back tonight!!
We finally got to try Aribella. We were very pleased with our appetizers, main meals, dessert, drinks and service. Oh we also ate in the bar on-a high top and it was comfortable. Can’t wait to go back.
The drinks are pricey but the service & food was fantastic.
We were in a smaller side room with a few tables which was perfect because it cut down on the noise (it was a Saturday night and very crowded). I rated the service only as a 3-star because a few times we had to wait for quite awhile for something that was ordered (i.e. drink refill). The waiter was very busy, I think they should have more staff working on a Saturday night. The food was excellent as always.
Service was pleasantly relaxed and the food was excellent. My party had pasta, veal and seafood, and all were evenly good.
Beautiful restaurant with great wait staff. High quality food with beautiful presentation. Loved it.
This restaurant is great. Great service, food and vibe. Only complaint is that it’s a little crowded but otherwise a great place to take a date.
From the staff to the atmosphere, and most importantly, the food, everything was beyond my expectations! By the end of the evening, I was wondering why I hadn’t dined here before. I will definitely be back for more!
Just happened to search and find this place...and it was amazing. Tucked away in the back of a shopping plaza area (you might miss it), it was a great find. The decor inside made you feel like you were outside. We had a great seat by the fireplace. Perfect for those who like it warm. The food was delicious. From the appetizers to the main dish- everything was great. The timing of the meal and drinks were perfect. We didn’t feel rushed at all. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. I would go back again. 100%.
Great food with poor service. Waiter had zero knowledge re menu and brought our food - never returned to ask us if we needed anything or how our meal was. The busboy was more attentive and knowledgeable. Bad night with always excellent food. I’d go back in a heartbeat but hope for a different server.
Fabulous food and service as always!!!
First time there and everything was perfect. Service was good and food was a great value. Really like the broccoli rabe
The main course was excellent as usual. The appetizer, lobster bisque, was warm but not hot. The service staff are very attentive and eager to please. We have become “regulars” after being introduced to this restaurant last year. Our daughter and son surprised me last year with a 75th birthday party at Aribella’s that was something I’ll never forget. The meals and service received rave reviews from all of the guests.
Always excellent! A great way to ring in the new year! Thank you Angelo, Sandy, and Wendy.
Limited menu, but very good
I would definitely go again
Discovered Aribella a year or two ago, it is now our go to place in Shelton when we want Italian
Aribella’s is fantastic! The wait staff pleasant and knowledgeable.. the food excellent!
Any time of the week, any time of the day, Aribella is always a good choice, never disappoints! The short rib special was super delicious!
Aribella was my go-to favorite restaurant. The portions have become quite small and the quality of the food is not what it used to be. A menu refresh and larger portions are needed. I've been disappointed the last few times I've dined at Aribella. Hoping it gets back to the quality it used to be.
Always delicious and wonderful at Aribella ! Thanks again.
Specials were not mentioned to us but were to an adjoining table. Water was poured but then no service for 10 minutes, Had to ask for bread and to order wine. Clams casino pizza was tasteless. Mixed green salad with goat cheese was delicious. Entrees of veal and chicken were small for the price(one small chicken breast with rice for $22 dollars). Dessert menu also pricey, for example, $10 for a cannoli.
Overall, disappointing. These are New York City prices in little old Shelton. We won't be back.
The food was just fabulous. We enjoyed all courses from appetizers to desert. We especially enjoyed the homemade pasta and the ambiance. Our waiter was very kind and answered all of our menu questions
Excellent in every way!!! Food, drink, atmosphere!!
