   Service was great. However I had the vegetarian cottage pie. The veggie base was bland and very little of it. Most of the dish was mashed sweet potato and there was just way too much of it. I felt I was just eating this big bowl of sweet potato. I would definitely recommend a rethink of this dish. Joanne

   The main here was acceptable, although not anything remarkable. The dessert described in the menu as coming with hot sauce arrived with cold sauce. When I queried that, it was taken away and served again, this time also with COLD sauce. I gave up. I would not hurry to eat here again.

   Great staff, nice food. Very well presented, good selection. Hapuka and seafood chowder amazing. Cheeseboard was well presented and good variety.

   The service was very good can’t say that about the food. I feel it’s time to replace your head chef and not charge high prices for very average food and give the place a face lift.

   The waitstaff was amazing! Very friendly and helpful. The food lacked some seasoning but the presentation and quality of the food was great. The cook on my food was also done perfectly. Would definitely bring my guests there again.

   I never respond to these types of surveys. However i have to say our dinner experience was really very poor, I informed the restaurant manager on the night our steaks were of a poor quality...after paying over $40 for a steak. Dissapointing that after apologising for the poor quality steaks and paying $250 we were not offered a small something to say sorry.

   We had a trainee serving our table. He took our drinks order came back later and asked if we were ok? I told him we are waiting for our drinks. He replied "You do not have them?". It was obvious we did not have them. He ran away and someone brought our drinks to us. What I do not like is waiters taking plates a way while others a re still eating. Table should be cleared once all dinners are finished. Waiters and staff were courteous. Thank you for the birthday dessert. I would return as the food was yummy.

   Although my reservation had been confirmed on line our table wasn't ready although another table had a reserved notice on it for 5. Food volume lacking. Pasta rubbery.

   We found the service excellent and the Christmas ambience lovely. The bar staff recommended a perfect wine accompaniment to the exquisitely cooked duck entree (Xmas menu). The bread and dips starter was delicious, but sadly everything else was disappointing: the pasta salad main ( bar menu) was flavourless and the lettuce slimy (as was the case with our main side salads). The salmon mains (Xmas menu) were overcooked and not prepared in a way to complement salmon's rich natural flavour. We did see some other bar menu food go out, e.g. burgers and fries, fish and chips e.t.c. and they appeared to be very good.

    Good (pasta) is not good enough and too salty! Beef is too hard to chew ! Terrible experience!
