This was not our first visit to this restaurant because we find it is perfectly situated for pre theatre when attending the Symphony Hall. However and this is a big but I'm afraid; this is not the first time that we have been having to watch our timing because although we had allowed plenty of time the service was slow and on this occasion exceedingly slow! We had only two courses and felt under starters orders for the whole time we were eating, with dessert barely touching the sides as it went down! It was approximately 45 minutes from when we ordered to when our main course arrived; we were told that this was because of the time it takes to cook two of the dishes. My suggestion is that if something is going to take an unusually long time to prepare then I suggest that item is noted with the explanation and then an informed decision can be made. It really spoiled the enjoyment of our meal and all could have been handled much better by the attending staff. The food however was delicious and we wish we could have taken our time to savour it.

Four of us had a beautifully presented & delicious pre-concert dinner to celebrate a special birthday. We would definitely recommend this restaurant's 2/3 course dinner with set choices before a concert at the Symphony Hall - conveniently reached by an internal walkway. It was, however, disappointing on arrival to be informed that they had had no idea of our booking & hadn't heard of Open Table & that the restaurant wasn't open until 5.30pm (4.45pm was the only time we were offered on the Open Table website for the pre-theatre dinner). Having said that we were eventually accommodated & other staff were more than helpful & efficient but it didn't entirely make up for the initial embarrassment in front of our guests. Aria get your act together on this one.

We booked the table for 13.00 with advice we may be a little late as we were travelling from London. Arrived at 12.45 to be told the restaurant was busy but we could have a quiet table in the bar where we could eat if we wanted to ( would have gone to a pub if we wanted that) or have a drink. Still said a few times about being busy and when we said it was not good enough we were ushered to a table in a near empty restaurant and in 10 mins it was totally empty. Food was good but that spoilt the day.

We love Aria and have eaten here several times in the past. It was nice that the staff remembered us from a previous visit. The food is always first class and we thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner!

Polite and efficient staff, and prompt service, essential for pre-theatre dining.

The service was slow despite being only 2 tables occupied. They poured half a glass of bottled water into a glass and topped it up with the tap water jug and I ordered a hot chocolate that came out as Luke warm milk and the coffee was Luke warm too. No cream or ice cream as a side with a very dry dessert. Cost a fortune too. Not worth it unfortunately.

We were greeted in a very friendly and polite manner upon arrival for a pre-theatre meal. And, we were also given the option of choosing our favoured table near the fountain. A plate of nice bread and butter shortly arrived and was very welcome whilst viewing the pre-theatre menu. The starters were nicely presented and absolutely delicious (slow cooked belly of pork).....quite wholesome, very tasty indeed and made us look forward very much to our chosen main dishes of sea bass and chicken breast. No disappointment whatsoever and both dishes beautifully executed. Although, we were quite full by now the dessert menu was too tempting not to order and the cadbury chocolate cheese cake was unbelievable. Do try it and you won't be disappointed.

The restaurant had a nice clean look and the feeling of being in an space in the atrium area was very good. The food was good however the starter I had was a prawn dish and had obviously been cooked in old oil as the plate had black greasy marks on it. The main course I had was sea bass and was well presented, the actual fish portion was okay but the accompanying vegetables were very stingy! All in all an acceptable meal and I would recommend the restaurant for its ambience but would not recommend if you want a filling meal.

Haven't been to this restaurant for a w hike as it wasn't too good . However, it has had a makeover and the place and the service are now excellent . It is a perfect venue for a pre Birmingham Symphony Hall show and they do a set meal at a reasonable price .

We decided to go to Aria for the pre-concert set meal 3 courses for £20.00. The service was excellent from start to finish. Generous portion sizes and quality food. We could not fault it and would thoroughly recommend coming here before a show at The Symphony Hall. The restaurant is light , airy and open plan . Would definitely return
