In the front, a lively bar and lounge will serve bespoke and seasonal cocktails, wines, and craft beer.
As someone who’s lived in NYC for 25 years, this gets a B- at best. Service is subpar. Food is ordinary. Place with ceilings so low that suffocate, ambiance reminds me of some sort of broadway show. Tourists probably will enjoy this gimmick. Have a hard time thinking New Yorkers can be fooled more than once.
Kinda perfect in every way
comfortable and great space between tables
lovely interior design
creative menu, perfectly executed
charming gracious staff
my new favorite place.
This restaurant opened just 3 months ago and has a different menu every 6 weeks. Everything is locally produced and organic. But more importantly, you are in for a complete taste sensation. The restaurant is helmed by the chefs adam bordanaro and Ryan Lory of Fig and Olive the Charlie Palmer group. The atmosphere is fantastic, service impeccable, and food to make your mouth water. Go check it out. Michelin stars to come soon!
Loved the food and the service was fabulous! The ambiance was sea themed and warm.
Food was delish ... very cool space ... not very busy yet ... a little pricey for portion size
If you’re in search of your next favorite eating spot, ARDYN’s got it covered. Met an old friend at this new farm-to-table, slice of food heaven on 8th Street in the Village. SO delicious, it prompted me to write my first ever restaurant review. The freshest ingredients, A+ bar list and a welcoming atmosphere that began when we opened the door. Thank you Jared. :)
The small plates menu is a struggle for me because a) I tend to love big plates of food and b) choosing a well-rounded selection is harder than it looks. Our server walked us through some ordering ideas that alleviated both of these struggles, and all that followed was w. o. w..
Each plate came beautifully presented, and although defined as small, were large enough to share. We mmmmmmm’d and omg’d with literally every bite. Foodgasm levels of eating enjoyment. Really. Hamachi Tartare, Pickled Beets, THE GARGANELLI (do not pass this one up.) Had a few glasses of wine - from Oregon and delicious - and can’t remember what our seafood special was called, but it was to die for!
Also of note, the ambience is warm, natural (forest-y themed), low-lit, comfortable and with an almost full house, sound was not an issue as we were able to catch up on the last 20 years. Well, almost. We will be going back again. And again. See you there... :)
It was the second time we were dining at Ardyn, and it was a great experience overall. The food is absolutely flawless and amazing, freshness of the ingredients. Small portions though. Not much of a difference between the appetizer and the entree in terms of size. That could be changed I think.
Our waitress was perfect, attentive, efficient and discreet at the same time which we appreciated very much.
Nevertheless there was a party of 4 next to us and the maitre D' was really into talking with them which is fine of course but he kept standing between their table and ours, turning his back to us during long minutes and because the space is rather small we were eating at his bottom level, literally. Not very pleasant as a dining experience I must say. It was the only negative point of our experience at Ardyn
A dining delight with a fresh take on beautiful ingredients. GM Jared is a total gentleman, and Chef Ryan and the kitchen are turning out precise, beautiful, creative dishes. Great for a special dinner for two or go and share the small plates with lots of friends who enjoy eating well!!!
Ardyn is an experience that you should try at least once but once will not be the end. It is unique with a flare of all flares. From the quaint floor plan, to the impeccable service to the food beyond imagination. You will not get your usual plates at this restaurant. The thought that went into these dishes is pure ingenious. You can sit at the bar by the kitchen and watch the chefs and staff make up each dish. Another experience. After you leave the restaurant, you can't stop saying to yourself, who are these chefs? The talent and the thought process they put into their meals is beyond words. Please if you are looking for a new place to dine, go to Ardyn. You will NOT be disappointed one bit. In fact, you will have their reservation number on speed dial.................................thank you Ardyn for an experience beyond imagination. I look forward to my next trip to you.
We loved it. Great addition
We had the porcelet, garganelli, hamachi, collini, octopus and chocolate cake. Overall the food and service were excellent however if the idea is to do a small plates concept the pricing needs to be adjusted to reflect the smaller portions. The prices were in line with full size mains at comparable restaurants.
This restaurant is a welcome addition to the neighborhood and the ever-changing 8th St. The quality of the food and the ambiance of the dining room were outstanding. The wine list is somewhat limited at this time, and hopefully will grow with time.
The food was really good, there was a bit of a wait but the food was worth the wait! They know what they are doing! It’s a new place so some kinks are expected but amazing experience!
Service and decor were great. Food was good but the value is extremely poor. $24 for a little plate of pasta is a rip off. Would not go there unless you are not hungry. We went for a pizza after dinner
Mostly interesting and good quality small plates for sharing. But while the plates are small, the prices are what you would expect to pay for full sized portions. Worth a try but you can eat better next door at Loring Place.
I rarely write reviews but I had to for this place Ardyn. Every thing we ordered was plated and presented like a piece of art and each and every bite was better then the next. Chef Ryan and Adam blew me away with the food. Even the cocktails were delicious and I felt you were really getting your moneys worth unlike most places we go where its only ice. My wife and I enjoyed the ambiance and is a great restaurant for a date night or out with friends. Thanks for the memorable experience! I will be back.
Love, love love Ardyn. The attention to detail paid to the cocktails, food menu and ambiance does not go unnoticed. Servers are beyond top notch. So glad to see a spot like this come to the neighborhood - it will definitely become a regular spot for me!
Absolutely delicious. Everything g we ate was prepared to perfection! Can’t wait to go back.
Remarkable food with combinations that were unique and memorable
Fantastic farm to table meal, small plates, high quality ingredients, great service and casual ambiance .. overall 5star experience
Great food and service, a bit pricey
Amazing service! Entire team went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying. Staff was very attentive. Decor is very cool and unique. Definitely have a cocktail in the front bar before dinner!
One the best places I have experienced in nYc and have lived here all my life. The chef puts love into each and every dish and it come beautifully served and absolutely perfect or he and his staff don’t let it pass. Sit at the chef’s counter for the true experience
My husband and I thought Ardyn was fabulous! We started with a drink at the inviting bar; there was quite a bar scene on the Thursday evening we were there, which made the experience more fun. The dining room is beautifully decorated--a lovely place to sit. The little plates were delicious, differentiated, and nicely presented. We saw Ardyn advertised in a food magazine (maybe Food and Wine?) and were so glad we decided to go.
Great place if you like Tapas and like to share. Service was fantastic! I've already recommended it to NYC and International friends who frequent the City... Congratulations!
The food was exceptional and rendered us speechless. I cannot wait to dine at Ardyn very soon! You will not be disappointed!
Amazing amazing new spot. Chef and Maher are great. Food is very special. Going back a second time in under 1 week. That good!!!
teeny tiny portions and humungous prices
food not great enough to warrant the price
tiny tables no room
too dark too loud
Up there with the best food I have ever had. All of the fish dishes we had were perfect.
From food to service, everything was perfect!
Everything was sublime. I wouldn't change a thing. From the hunter green, arboreal design, to the almost primitive clay dishes, to the uncomfortably good cocktails, and the fantastic dishes I got to see prepared in front of me, I loved everything and can't wait to return.
Consistently awesome food and cocktails. Great spot for drinks at the bar or small plates in the dining room. A great go-to for a delicious meal and fun vibe.
Unbelievable food, decor, and overall experience. Will definitely be back.
The portions are so small... the raw fluke and scallop appetizers are literally like japanese sashimi for $20 each... the main dishes (not the ones to share like duck or steak) chicken (4 tiny pieces) and fish for $30 each do not come with any vegetables or proteins... have to order sides (another $10) ....food taste ok n fresh as its farm to table.... no bread available.... deserts underwhelming.... after finishing need to have more food at home....
The restaurant is better off to add some vegetables/rice/potatoes to the main dish and raise price to $37 so that guests are not hungry
Ambiance pretty but with so many other better restaurants in neighborhood won’t go back
Desserts not commensurate with rest of the meal. Music earsplitting
