Great Sicilian dinner by a chef Marotta whom I consider an ambassador of Sicilian food
Great service and personal attention.
Amazing food, fresh, tasty and presented beautifully.
good food, fair service, came to celebrate a birthday - dont know that this is a "special occasion" kind of place.
The prices and choices of food can be more competitive. That would be more attractive.
Lunch meeting. Pasta alla Norma very subtle, with no intense flavourings. Pasta cooked to an ideal. Nice Czech pilsner on draught. Good Service.
Amazingly authentic food. The octopus was the best I've ever tried. Juicy and delicious which is rare for grilled octopus. The pastas and pizzas were Amazing as well. Wine selections rocked ! Service was amazing.
Third visit. Food and service are always great.
We had an amazing meal and enjoyed the service. Wine was wonderful!
Amazing food in true Italian tradition. We will be back for sure.
Some of the boldest flavours the Toronto Italian food scene has to offer, however had I not ordered the $7 bread, I probably would have left hungry after sharing two appetizers and having a pasta as a main each. Two cocktails, tax and tip, dinner for two $169. Seafood salad was delicious, burata, you cannot go wrong with a ball of fresh cheese.
Delicious food. Excellent service. We sat by the open kitchen and got to see all the cooking action. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food! Especially their house made pastas, truffle, Ardo sausage and Norma. Love the bread also. Our server was friendly and attentive
Genuine Siciliano cuisine and drink with impeccable service.
Fresh food with normal price, a great choice to Italy restaurant.
The atmosphere is great and so are the people.
Great place for downtown
Server was a little hard to understand. Asked to bring us bread (which we thought was complimentary) and came back with bread and olives which we were charged for despite mentioning we thought they were complimentary. Friends have had poor experiences here recently as well so will likely stay away
Hospitality always delightful. Taste of Sicily is authentic
Excellent food, wonderful service! Always a great evening
Great service. Delicious melt in your mouth pasta. Lively buzz
I have recommended it several times; however this last time was lacking the quality of the pastFirst,I had to wait for the hostess to finish her personal conversation; then she couldn't find my reservation..We were relegated to the most backward table even tho I had reserved 2 weeks ago. My guest was not impressed
Celebrating my wife’s birthday with family.
Really nice restaurant and atmosphere. Food was good but not enough flavour / spice.
Consistently excellent food from a chef and team that takes pride in their creations.
Food was absolutely delicious and we were making plans to return with our family and recommending it to friends. We had a wonderful time up until the end when the restaurant refused to accept our Open Table dining cheque on the basis that they had issues with cashing in other cheques. We had specifically selected this restaurant tonight with the purpose of using our cheque. If a restaurant chooses to use Open Table, it should honour its cheques - any issues with Open Table cheques should be sorted out between the restaurant and the Open Table. This left such a sour taste in our mouths and ruined what was a really lovely evening. We have no interest in returning to an establishment that has no interest in our return business.
Had to serve our own wine. Very slow service.
Taking my small team out for holiday lunch. The food was delicious and the waitress very knowledgeable. Service was excellent.
The restaurant feels a bit crowded but warm and welcoming and the staff is kind, attentive and very professional. The food was perfection from beginning to end - we had decadent carpaccio and burrata to start, perfect pasta mains spaghetti and papardelle - and for cannoli lovers these are the best. Don’t share - you’ll want both for yourself.
Staff and management are clearly on the ball - and the pacing was perfect.
Also - do bring home some of the chocolate bars, unique and decadent. Will come back for sure!
When I eat lunch at Ardo, I have an excellent time and the good is always tasty.
My dinner was equally lovely tasting, but serving was extremely small. $33 for the cod special with came with a few beets and a piece of cod that was about the size of a deck of cards. Nothing else.
I am not a big eater but I ended up sharing my friends pizza entree because the cod was definitely not enough. For $33 , either give me more cod or some starch. I know this was not a one-off problem as it happened to the friend I was with with her prawn special on another occasion.
The staff are always incredible at Ardo and the food is top notch. My husband and I brought his parents and our newborn and they gave us an amazing table to help accommodate our bassinet. We can’t wait to enjoy iur next visit.
I loved the food but the service so was attentive as to bordering on intrusive. Happens when you are relatively small locale with lots of customers.
The meal, service and atmosphere were exceptional! This was my fourth visit to the restaurant and I have never been disappointed!
Will continue to make this spot a go to for special events and visitors.
Good service, good food, very cozy, perhaps a little too squishy for larger groups.
My only caveat is that the kitchen smell permeated through the restaurant.
Second time I’ve celebrated my birthday and always a great time.
Absolutely the best Italian in the city. Excellent food, service and atmosphere.
I really enjoyed my evening at Ardo; a long dinner catching up with an old friend. Food was delicious, no question. Great space and location. The one thing that would have improved my visit would have been if the server had smiled at us, even once. Also, when I arrived on a rainy evening, and asked where I could put my coat, it was quite obvious that whoever had greeted me at the door, was annoyed that I wouldn't just hang my coat over the back of my chair (sorry, just not into hanging a dripping long coat over the back of a short chair with limited space. I can do that at McDonalds but don't expect to do so in a fine dining restaurant.)
Service wasn't grumpy all-round, but it seemed that two servers I had contact with were pretty unfriendly and unhelpful that Thursday evening. I prefer kinder service.
This is a go-to place for me. It’s perfect for a catching-up-with-friends dinner. Everything on the menu is fresh and tasty. The room is relaxed and not noisy. The service is attentive without being rushed or intrusive. I’ve been there lots of times and expect to be there lots more
The four ratings simply reflect that it is not top of the line posh but it is very good. Recommended
We had a short business meal prior to a meeting in the early evening. The hospitality and meal were 1st class.
menu varies enough to make it interesting, with favourites remaining to make it familiar
service is 'like family'
staff knowledgable and approachable
While the service was very attentive, the food was regrettably quite mediocre. I had the cod fish with fennel. My partner had the gnocchi. Both were underwhelming. Poor seasoning and forgettable. We had a Great experience with the wine . The chef owner personally helped us negotiate the extensive Sicilian wine list. His suggestions were well appreciated.
They have the best pizza. Crust is really good
Little bit pricy though.
