Food were delicious! Definitely will come back and try the other food on the menu
Good food. Just need a bit of tweaking:
1) adjust sound system a tad lower, so server & patrons can hear the orders & any questions
2) Refreshers for server: do NOT reach for plate and then ask if we’re done when there’s still some food in it.
3) Never put bag of food (leftovers) on the floor!
Ardo is a small gem of a restaurant. The food is delicious, and the wine accompanies the food perfectly. The prices are a little high but size and quality are reflected. Make sure to have a desert and coffee! Outstanding staff very knowledgable about the menu and not overbearing, in true italian fashion, they let you linger and talk and relax with your guests over dinner! Well done will be back!
Always a great experience!
Chef Roberto has curated the best Sicilian menu in Toronto. Been here several times and broke away from my usual (incredible) mushroom gnocchi order and took the parpadelle beef ragout. WOW. So good. Service is warm and authentic, wine list is niche, but perfectly suited to chef’s food. And don’t miss the cannolis!
where to start?? the place was small but so cute. We were 15 min early and they sat us at the bar as our table was not ready. I looked around and there was a table for 4 ready and just thought maybe that's someone'elses table. At 8:00 they said our table was ready and go figure was the same empty table i had seen so.......weird. Service was very good and informative. The food was not as good as I thought it would be and I was disappointed as I really wanted to like it. We go to Sicily ever summer as we are sicilian and this food was not sicilian. The homemade bread was very doughy, no taste, the pesto pizza with potatoe had no pesto or potatoe, the burratta app was not burratta but fiori di latte and was served with squash puree which should not have been. Burratta should be creamy and ooze out when cut and serviced with chopped tomatoes and basil. The pasta was good and so was the wine and well priced. The seafood salade was missing the seafood, all I got was 4 very small shrimps, 4 tiny clams and 3 slivers of octopus, shame really. I would recommend it anyone who does'nt know real sicilian cuisine and only for the pizza and wine
Food was good but unfortunately was totally over shadowed by the very poor service, from the manager to the server. The aggressive and argumentative behaviour & tone when I made them aware that my dish was served with dairy, which I clearly communicated I am allergic to, was beyond inappropriate. Will never dine here again....there lose considering the frequency I eat out!
Very good Sicilian food with interesting choices. This is a small, busy restaurant with a good buzz. Wine prices a bit high; good cocktails; small selection for beer.
Amazing restaurant. The chef / owner is a gracious and generous host. The staff are lovely. The food is outstanding. The acciughe is heavenly and love the gnocchi. A good wine list that offers a lot at a reasonable price. Ardo is my favorite restaurant in Toronto.
Amazing food and service always!! One of my favorite spots in the city :)
Brought my boyfriend here for his birthday lunch and he absolutely loved it! He ordered the fish ragu which was the special of the day and I had the gnocchi which never disappoints.
Went here for my Mom’s birthday dinner on a moderately busy Wednesday night. Happy they were able to accommodate a last minute guest addition. Great consistent service, beautiful pronounciation of the menu, fresh palate appetizers, tasty Sicilian white wine! Wish they had more vegetarian options, although the Lobster Tagliatelli was hard to pass. Would definitely dine here again!
It was our third time. Went to celebrate a birthday. Previous visits wonderful.
9pm Reservation. Given a horrible table at the back near kitchen. Took 15 minutes to get our cocktails. ( They did comp them). Lobster pasta at $32 had two small pieces of lobster. The gnocchi was burnt, dry and looked like hash browns. We left and had dessert at another place. Waiter was enjoyable. Most disappointing experience.
Above all the food was great, just found that the seating arrangement was just a little crammed. The noise level was okay for restaurant setting. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and colleagues any day. Thank you for a great experience.
Belated Valentine’s Day dinner, we had a blast, service was the best I have seen in a while. Food was delicious, cod special in particular was very nice. Wine list is a bit pricey but we enjoyed our bottle.
Ardo is a wonderful neighbourhood restaurant with friendly, efficient staff and really good food.
Great service, good food, only problem was it was a tad dark but great location, would definitely return.
the space is cramped and too loud. the food is alright
Especially enjoyed view of kitchen Staff friendly and service excellent.
Dear Ardo, food and service great. Noise level far too high. Get rid of music. We are there to enjoy a good meal and talk to friends. You could be trend-setters, Cathryn Gregor
Excellent neighborhood gem!
An excellent family-owned restaurant whose owner, Roberto, is also the head chef. Thoroughly recommended for 'foodies'.
If you're looking for a family-owned restaurant where the emphasis is on good food then this is the place. Roberto, the owner & chef, really makes his guests feel welcome. I recommend Ardo to all 'foodies'.
We were very lucky to have such an amazing server who seemed very invested in our dining experience! Great date night!
your website accepted my invitation for my date and I and we arrived to a restaurant that was closed due to a pipe situation, thanks for letting me know and for wasting my time!
The restaurant was very quiet at 5:30 when we arrived but it filled in quickly and provided a nice ambiance. There are a lot of servers. One server offered us to sample 2 different house wine (by the glass) before we chose the one we wanted. The menu had a nice variety. The food was excellent from the Arancini to the pasta to the meet. The canolis are excellent. True Italian coffee. We loved the place and it was worth the 25 minute walk to the theatre after our meal!
I’ve been back 3 times already. Great for authentic Sicilian cuisine. The food is made with passion and creativity. The staff is great and the atmosphere is cozy.
Awesome service (thanks Jen see we remembered) and fantastic food. The njuda pizza was excellent.
Gnocchi is the best in Toronto. Everything on the menu is above-average. They care about every small detail and the service was excellent. The bartender was a wizard with the cocktails.
My first time at Ardo and I was very satisfied with the superb service by our waitress (forgot her name). She was so attentive and friendly, really made us feel comfortable. Love the the intimate space. The food was really delicious. One of my top spots of Italian in the city. My favorite dishes included their special of the day flatbread with anchovies, octopus (so tender), gnocchi (mini fluffy soft pillows) and the spicy in house made sausage with their orchiette pasta. I would go back again and again to try more dishes.
Okay experience. Better sitting at the chefs table.
Ardo is one of our favourite restaurants and the food is exceptional. However, I did notice that on our most recent visit, the serving portions seemed smaller than usual, which was disappointing, given the not-insubstantial cost of items.
Chef was unaccommodating to customers’ request to modify food prep to avoid allergic-reaction.
Food was excellent. Service professional chef /owner friendly, passionate, professional and a top chef. Wonderful authentic Italian food
Great place to share a meal with friends, a date, or family. Really delicious and unique cocktails, and the pizza was wonderful. Great service and overall a great experience.
Exceptionally warm ambiance, great selection on the menu, and delicious Sicilian flavours. Orecchiette with spicy sausage was the star of our meal... despite there being very little of the sausage itself, the spicy provolone, sauce, and perfectly prepared pasta was enough to have me dreaming of coming back. Just one word to the wise: try to sit towards the back of the restaurant during the winter. There’s a steady draft from the door and huge window up front. Would come again!
Chef Roberto is fantastic as always. Staple items: arancione and siciliano cannoli (brings back memories from maialino!) all we need is the porchetta back on the menu. Never disappoints (although difficult and expensive pistachios from bronte would be ideal given where he comes from)
Cozy place with amazing food and service :)
Amazing food service and drinks! Great spot for dinner with friends and family
Loved it! One of the best gems in the city, food was excellent
