Awesome vibe. Great music, tasty food and plenty drink options. Definitely would recommend for a one on one interpersonal night out.
Had a lovely time. Our server Julian was friendly and attentive.
Amazing speak easy. Great wine selection. Super friendly staff ! Highly recommended
Great spot for a happy hour! $2 off any wine from 5-7pm during the weekday. A fun spot with cute decor, big bar, high top seating and then a smaller dining area. Only suggestion would be to have a slightly bigger food menu. Would return!
great place, with sound level where you can talk with your friends, the food is also nice- small plates for sharing, great selection of wine
With MCC and A.R.T. having wonderful seasons, I've been on the look out for a place in that area to enjoy a pre-theater bite. I feel I struck gold with Ardesia, which is so much more than a wine bar. The small plates were fabulous, particularly the lamb skewers with minted yogurt and the spinach and cheese croquettes. And the pisco sour was beautifully prepared. Tables are small, but the seating is quite comfortable. And the noise level was a comfortable buzz.
It was close to impossible to get someone to wait on us- the waiter assigned to our area actually completely ignored us even when we tried to flag him down. He came over and said "I'll be right back" and never came. We only got food and drinks because the hostess ended up waiting on us. It was some of the worst service I have ever had in the city. The food and wine were actually really good though- but the service was extremely underwhelming.
Our favorite wine bar in NYC! Great wine, food and service .
Cozy and welcoming setting. Good small plates and wine
Service always kind and attentive. Great place to catch up with a friend especially slightly later when the crowds are more manageable.
such a sexy place. great menu and wine list. service was great!
Wonderful find and I've been coming here for a few years now. One complaint, just not enough tables. Some high tables, which I don't like, but regular tables are limited so make reservations if you can. Bar is usually full. This time was quiet, but it was a terrible, rainy week night evening and I assume that's why it was a small crowd. Food is very good. Choice of small plates and all very interesting, which I love. They also have regular meals, but I always end up with small plates. Get to sample different items/tastes. We had croquettes, which are always good, ricotta crostini..very good, flank steak with salad - excellent, lamb skewered with yogurt dip - excellent and roasted cauliflower - very good. All small plates. Nice wine list. Reasonably priced. Try it you won't be disappointed!
Would recommend for some wine and nice 'snacks' but not for dinner (not enough selection and dishes were very small - but tasty).
Wonderful spot to stop for a drink + before your evening out. Was super crowded at 6:30 but my tiny table at the end of the bar area was rightfully reserved for me as requested. I'll know for the next time to ask for a table in the seating area instead of by the bar. But nonetheless, the waitstaff's suggestions were spot on and the food was really yummy. Best olives I've has in a long time and delicious flank steak if you're hungrier.
Where do you go when you bring together a wine PR person, two wine students and a winemaker? You need to find a spot that can bring out their Geekiness as well as provide service of a knowledgeable staff. That’s what you get here. We were greeted immediately, were provided with menus and when we asked for recommendations were given great ones. The location of the restaurant is in the middle of residential area so it is nice and quiet. There is patio seating as well as inside. We enjoyed the patio and never felt forgotten. We will all be back
Great date spot. Good atmosphere, delicious food and plenty of versatile wine selections.
Service was rushed and absent, meat on charcuterie plate was basically the same as what you got at a grocery store. Was expecting thin sliced meat. Would not recommend.
This is our favorite wine bar in the city. Excellent food in addition to a great wine selection .
Great wine list! We had the Argentinian pinot noir and it was delicious. As for the food, we ordered a cheese and charcuterie platter but it was really small for the price hence my 4 stars as an overall experience.
The waiters were professional and not overbearing. Will definitely go back and try something else on the menu so maybe it will be a 5 stars the next time!
Wonderful meal with great service and food. We got a call the day before our reservation noting that they had a private party until 6 so we agreed to move our reservation back the 15 minutes. I made sure to note we had an 8 o’clock show to get too and they said they would make sure we were marked as pre theater to ensure a faster experience.
Once there, it was a bit loud as the party wound down but it didn’t feel obnoxious- you aren’t going to maintain calm when a party books out an entire wine bar. We got two excellent glasses of sparkling wine, an exceptional cheese and charcuterie board, two more great and complex glasses of wine, and some small plates that were delicious. We were full so we skipped desert. When they brought the check, they apologized for the noise of the party (which wasn’t needed) and wished us a happy anniversary - for the occasion, they even comped our last round, which was a really nice touch.
Coming in from out of town, it’s always nice to find places that take their work seriously and want to make customers happy. We try to get to NYC regularly, so this place definitely earned some repeat customers!!
This place is the best. So intimate. Great service. Love coming here
Food is expensive though
Zach and Mandy were so wonderful and Ardesia was the perfect spot for a pre-show drink and bite! Would go back in a heartbeat.
Perfect pre-theater place for drinks and yummy well-made small plates. Helpful staff. We sat outside next to the fresh basil plants used in the drinks and food - an unexpected treat in the middle of mid-town Manhattan.
Great outdoor seating area, our party of 5 spent 3+ hours on a Sunday afternoon. Staff kept providing great recommendations, the wines and food were superb.
This was my first time in Ardesia- I've lived in Hell's Kitchen for over two decades and was happy to discover this gem of a wine-bar off the beaten track. It has great ambience and a nice range of wines, cocktails and bar menu- all reasonably priced. We ate inside due to the humidity but the outdoor area looks lovely. I'll be back for sure.
Great wine, good value. The food is great-small plates but plenty. The owner is lovely knowledgeable and gracious. Five stars
It's a pretty little place and VERY crowded with a great vibe.
We only went for drinks and sat on these very comfy couches. Very nice
Drinks were great. Had a pretzel and must say as a life long New Yorker they were very good.
Can't wait to go back again and have some food. And more drinks :)
Such a great place. Delicious and unique wines and food. Service was outstanding
Loved my wine and appetizer. Furniture needs replacing or a little TLC, and environment is very important to me. But the service was great, kind and fun people. Friend and I had a chill catch up. Enjoyed!
Great selection of wine, cheese, and charcuterie! A true wine bar in NYC. The service was great and the staff was super friendly.
A beautiful oasis in the middle of the urban jungle
The wait staff was horrible in attending our table and the place was not busy. My date was upset by being ignored for 15minutes. The wait staff needs to be changed. They racially profiled patrons.
Fantastic spot for attractively priced wine and food. My girlfriend and I needed a place to go after work and it was perfect.
It was my first time there and I would go back! I was with a friend and we had a show to catch. Once we told our waitress, she had everything out fast and we were able to enjoy the drinks and food and see the show on time.
good date spot or for a quick bite to eat, great drinks
We sat in the lounge area and it was the perfect, tucked away spot for after work drinks! The prices for food (like the salad my friend got) can be a little bit high for the amount that you get, but the quality is all very high and the drink selection is thoughtful and varied. I got a selection of cheese and charcuterie and it was delicious and just the right amount of food to go with a drink or two (and the prices on those were pretty on par with anywhere else). The service was attentive while never rushing us, which is always a plus.
What a neighborhood gem. Love the outdoor seating but the inside always feels so cozy and warm. Great wines and good snacks.
