We really enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. Very good service. Husbands both ordered the filet, they asked the waiter if the cooks were good at cooking steak properly. The waiter said they are. The steaks were ordered medium rare. The steaks came medium well. :( when they told the waiter he took the steaks away and said it would be corrected as quickly as possible. The manager came out and apologized. We, the wives, were almost done with our food by the time the steaks came out again.
They were cooked to perfection this time, I tasted my husbands steak, it was delicious. I had the fried chicken and it was so so so good. We also had the mussels (excellent), Brussels sprouts (excellent) and calamari (very good). Cocktails were awesome. Wine selection only included 2 Italian reds, the only true disappointment of the evening.
We went to dinner here for NYE and were super impressed! The crab fritters, pesto gnocchi, and lobster risotto were to die for, plus we really went in on the bread and butter, too. Would also recommend the cocktails - manzanarita if you’re in the mood for something apple-y. Can’t wait to return!
This is a great restaurant! We dined there on New Year's Eve. Its close proximity to the Omni Shoreham (1 mile) provided a great dining alternative. We loved the ambiance, our meals, and the wine! The evening held three wonderful surprises for me. First was the wine. The house pinot noir was amazing. Second was the shrimp and grits. I have changed my mind about not liking this dish. I had tried it elsewhere and had written it off as dull, tasteless, and disappointing. At my husband's urging, I relented and Wow! The wonderful seasonings and the dish's perfect texture have converted me. But, I will only have it at Ardeo + Bardeo. My dish was exciting too - seared salmon, wild rice, decilata squash, spinach and cardamom. The presentation was fascinating and the food was delicious. The final surprise was the caramelized honey crème brulee with mixed berries, almond shortbread. It was beyond wonderful! Crème brulee was another dish I had written off as blaaah, but not this one. Let me not forget to mention our waiter. He was warm, engaging, and appropriately attentive. So, we will return! Thanks, Ardeo + Bardeo! Bravo!
We used to come here often for brunch. When we went last Saturday, it was surprisingly slow for the weekend of Thanksgiving. There were very few people there but service was still slow and food was slow to come out. It took a while to get coffee too. Our waitress was fine but cold, lacked personality and barely smiled or spoke to us, not the friendly, happy service we’ve been used to here. It just seemed like we were a transaction $. Gone down hill a bit.
Thanksgiving dinner for two at two.
Wonderfully prepared prix fixe dinner. The Turkey was the most tender I’ve had in ages. The only reason it is not a five star rating was that we seemed a little rushed even though it was not too busy. I was still chewing my main when my plate was cleared. Will be back soon.
I have dinned here 3 or more times. This is not a fancy or wow restaurant but it has an imaginative cuisine and great presentation. The wine list is a bit pricey. I come here, in part, because it is not a loud or noisy restaurant. You can actually converse with your family or friends without cupping your ears trying to hear what they are saying.
I used to live in Cleveland Park and eat at Ardeo Bardeo quite often. I was looking forward to meeting some friends from out of town for Sunday brunch. Both the service and the food have deteriorated. My Eggs Benedict was generally ok but stone cold. The "savory biscuits" were a flat failure. Twice servers interrupted our conversation to ask "how's everything?" But we had to ask three times for more coffee. My friends had a similar reaction to their food and I was embarrassed to have foisted such a poor brunch on them. I'm probably going to give Ardeo Bardeo another chance in the evening but I won't be back for brunch.

With my brunch order came a hash brown cake or patty. I took 2 bites of it and could not eat it. It was WAY too salty. Was as if they'd mixed the smoked salmon with the potatoes and then added much more salt. I did not say anything to the server because I did not think anything could be done about it. Took it home with other leftovers and my son tried to eat it and could not. Kitchen should be informed to test this before sending it out like that again. Rest of the food was good and nicely presented.
Great brunch menu with bottomless mimosa option! For a small plate, main plate, and bottomless mimosa, the cost is $29 which is a great deal! I brought my out-of-town friends here for their first bottomless brunch experience and they had a great time! Our drinks were never empty and service was fantastic!
Ardeo is consistently welcoming, the food is always perfect, the service amazing -- it is a hidden gem. The seasonally changing brussel sprouts are a personal fav, but their hamburger is fabulous, their soft-shelled crabs delicious ... basically they do fancy food and easy food very well, and serve it in an ambiance that feels laid back, comfortable, mildly elegant but not the the point to put you off -- just a lovely place.
We went to Ardeo for brunch to celebrate a friend’s upcoming wedding. Our server, Brandon, was very attentive and courteous. All the dishes were elegantly plated almost as in a fine dining restaurant. Everyone agreed that Shrimp and Grits was definitely the star of the brunch -- delicately seasoned tiger prawns (huge!) cooked just right on top of velvety grits -- classic comfort food. Huevos Rancheros was savory; the guacamole mousse smeared on the plate was a very nice touch. Smoked salmon and lump crab, portioned just right, worked well together in the Eggs Norwegian. I highly recommend the brunch as the price is quite reasonable for the kind of quality and portion sizes you get. Both your wallet and your stomach will thank you!
All the brunch items came to the table well prepared and stylish. Everything tasted great. Only problem was the waiter. You would ask him a question or request, and it would take like 5 seconds or so for the words to register with him. We all concluded that the waiter was probably hung-over from the previous evening.
My husband and I went out for a date night dinner during restaurant week. The starters were delicious (watermelon feta salad and watermelon gazpacho), entree was not exceptional but still tasted great (my husband had filet and I ordered mussels) and the portions were just right, and dessert topped it off. Great value in the neighborhood. I miss the old ardeo bardeo where it had more of an Italian flavor with a twist. The best part of our night was our waitress, Antoinette, who was friendly and caring.
It had been a few years since I had brunch at Ardeo + Bardeo, and it was better than I remembered. Excellent portion sizes, delicious bread basket that they refilled on request, and strong mimosas. A side of brussels sprouts was easily enough for three people. I'll keep coming back to Ardeo as long as the good food and attentive service continue.
Interesting options with fresh ingredients. Comfortable setting with a noise level that is conducive to conversation. Excellent cocktails and a good, and reasonably priced, wine list. Not cheap, but not unreasonable either. Extremely well informed wait staff. Good experience.
