Arden is an idyllic retreat tucked into Portland's Pearl District. Arden delivers seasonal Pacific Northwest cuisine and an award-winning wine program featuring over 250 bottles, many with bottle age. Guests have the option to dine a la carte or enjoy the chef's prix fixe menu ($70): a shared experience that features 4 courses of seasonal cuisine. Coursed wine pairings are also available ($45).

Arden is named in homage to Shakespeare's famous forest - a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and appreciate nature's bounty and beauty. The restaurant invites you to take an exiting culinary adventure through the Pacific Northwest, and explore the incredible range of ingredients that the region has to offer.

We'll take you on a tour of our seasonal pacific northwest themed menu where you and your guests will share 9 of our most popular dishes. Wine pairings are optional and an additional $45 per person. Please contact us directly with any dietary restrictions or food allergies. At this time we are unable to accommodate any vegan or vegetarian diets on our prix fixe experience. Thank you for understanding! Please note: We will happily split payment between up to 3 credit cards but kindly refuse to split checks for large parties. I don’t understand how I haven’t heard of this place before. The prix fixe menu with wine pairing is incredible. And the price?!? Can’t be beat. The food was outstanding, perfect portion sizes, the wine was great. The staff were great people. You simply must go.

The food was great, the service was very attentive. They were slammed, which caused our last dish to seem quite slow to emerge. Having said that, we’d definitely go again, just maybe not Saturday night. 😀 We had trout, smoked olives, ahi carpaccio and pork ragu tagliatelle, all were excellently envisioned, prepared, and served. Simply delicious!

This meal was good, although sadly not overly remarkable, with service being especially disappointing. I arrived a couple minutes early for my reservation and was told they didn’t have a seat ready for me and that I had to wait outside, despite it being a 90 degree day, with no estimate of when I would be seated or initial apology. I got an update a few minutes after my reservation time had passed that they were waiting on someone to finish dessert. I waited more than 10 minutes after my reservation and was initially offered a table outside despite my reservation being for inside. At a restaurant at this level, I would have expected them to be better at turning tables on time and managing reservations. Upon being seated, I waited another 5-10 minutes before anyone spoke to me. I was not walked through the menu, asked if I had dined with them before, or asked how I was doing, the first thing that was said to me was “what are you seeing on the menu?”. I had to ask about the menu and what to expect. This theme continued throughout the night. While I saw staff engaging and lingering with specific parties that seemed to be regulars, other parties, such as myself, would get more minimal / short engagement. I came here to celebrate a personal achievement and wasn’t really treated like a customer they valued, let alone one that had chosen to celebrate a special occasion with them. Food wise, most dishes were good. Execution had some slight flaws with the pierogi a bit too well done causing you to get some of the burnt flavor and the gnocchi being overpowered by the mound of cheese on top of it, but everything still mostly tasted good. While some dishes offered a bit of creativity, I would have loved to have seen a bit more of that and some more robust flavors like there were in some of the dishes that did shine.

After enjoying a wonderful combination of flavors including top-shelf sauces, I suggested to our waiter that this restaurant changed its name to, “the Arden experience.“ Next time, I’ll get the prefix menu and let Chef, whom I now trust, select for me. Thank you!

Wonderful dining experience. Went for our anniversary. Nicholas made some great suggestions and everything was delicious: duck liver mousse for a starter and trout for the entrée. Noise level was perfect for conversation. Great wine list too. Highly recommend this gem.

Arden was a best experience. We just tried it for the first time and now it is at the top of our favorites list. We got the set course meal and everything was amazing. They were great with our allergies and preferences. The service was perfect, not hovering but everything was full and checked on. Such a great experience, 1000% recommend!
