Waste of time, will not try again!
I love going to Arcwood with my friends. Anytime someone from out of town visits, I love introducing them to Arcwood. Their food is delicious, it's such a cute place with great ambiance, and their wines are pretty tasty too! It's a nice place to have a chill evening sipping some wine. They are a bit on the pricier side and the food portions are very small, but I recommend ordering a few starters and sharing amongst the group. It can get noisy because it is on Ventura blvd and when cars pass by, it does get very loud. But, otherwise, it's a cute place that I enjoy going to .
Having dinner with a friend. The food here is top notch. Love the fried catfish. So light and crispy with house made tartar sauce. And the shrimp and grits was delicious. That sauce! The wine was great and the service was so friendly and helpful. I’ll just have to bundle up so I can keep going throughout the winter.
The fig and cheese starter was good. I had the burger which was ok and my wife had skirt steak. We ordered the dirty fries between us. They were incredibly salty. So much so that one bite ruined the meal as the taste of salt in my mouth would just not go away. At least they took them off the Bill. Service was good.
So happy they are open again for dine-in (outside tables)! The food, as always, was fantastic - best corn bread ever. And the service was impeccable (no small feat since there is only one server right now). I can’t wait to go back
Great food, knowledgeable wait staff, interesting wine list. Safe patio dining.
Super romantic AND COVID-19 compliant safe restaurant with innovative food and flavors AND generous portions!??! I have already put reminders in my calendar to check in periodically about menu changes, because the chef and service staff at this place were just amazing. The Autumn Harvest Salad was so delicious and unique, and I loved the creamy chimichurri on the cooked-to-perfection flank steak. Also — the wine recommendation of The Stand red blend was SPOT ON. I can't wait to go back.
Food and server were great! super easy and covid safe.
bring some bug spray this month and there are mosquitos out in the evening!
They’re finally open!!! Great patio. Amazing food and wine.
Love this place always!
Food was so Delicious and great wine. So happy they re-opened for patio service during this uncertain time. Not over crowded, everything was perfect!
I plan on revisiting next week!
Local hidden gem, great food and great service. Does not disappoint!
The restaurant confirmed the reservation. Got there 10 minutes early, they were closed. This happened to us the last time we reserved there too, I thought it was a fluke. Never again
Made reservation online through OpenTable on August 4 (Tuesday) for table on August 7 (Friday). Received confirmation of reservation through OpenTable. August 6 received another email from OpenTable asking me to reconfirm my reservation for August 7, which I did. Drove over 40 miles to Arcwood to meet my friend on eve of August 7 and they were closed, shut tight, apparently hadn't been open for a while!
Then, on August 10, received notification of "Seated Confirmation" for August 7 reservation from OpenTable, obviously couldn't have happened as restaurant was not open.
IT WASNT EVEN OPEN EVEN THOUGH THE WEBSITE AND GOOGLE ALLOWED AND CONFIRMED RESERVATIONS
Arcwood was closed.
The restaurant wasn’t even open and shouldn’t be taking reservations on Open Table.
This place does not disappoint. Every dish we have tried has been incredible, and the best part is that it’s tapas style so you get to order as many items as you can to experience it all. Add the amazing food to the wine selection and ambiance and it’s a perfect date night. Highly recommend!
Great food, wine and service! More about quality than quantity what I was looking for.
Love this spot! The service is great and the food is out of this world amazing.
Great good, wine and service. Unique dishes that will make your mouth water. I’ve been here several times and it’s always a great experience!
Great food, service, wine, and ambiance!
We made a reservation, when we got there at the appointed time, the restaurant was closed
My favorite restaurant ever, glad you guys are reopen!
Always great, very unique and delicious dishes....Great prices, and yes, best hamburger in the valley!!! A regular casual night out stop for us!!
My wife and I went recently for the first time and we can't wait to go back.
Food was lackluster. Cheese and charcuterie plate had two cheeses. Two huge slabs of bland Brie and some smoked Gouda slices. Rest of food was ok but I exciting. Wine was fine. Just not somewhere I’d go again, at least until the restaurant has worked out kinks.
such a great date spot! mushrooms & seafood jambalaya we’re out of this world
Enjoyed the food, staff, and ambience only thing.... they ran out of chicken other than that awesome place to dine.
First, I had requested patio seating IF the heaters were repaired. (I ate there a month ago & the heaters were broken then). They told us there was not seating available inside except at the bar, which we accepted because there was no alternative other than leaving the restaurant. The seats at the bar are uncomfortable & you can’t sit close enough because your knees are smashed underneath. The first dish was the roasted Brussels sprouts & they were overwhelmed by the flavor of vinegar. Then we got the roasted corn salad which was way too hot. I couldn’t eat it, it gave my husband heart burn. They were out of the chicken, even though it was only 7:30. The potato tacos were ok. The Wagyu burger was way too rare. And in spite of sitting at the bar, no one ever asked us if we would like another glass of wine. Very disappointing experience overall.
First of all, the wines were delicious. I had a Portuguese red, which was full-bodied and tasty. Wife had a French. Also wonderful. Next, we shared the wild mushrooms, garlicky and warm. Then came the corn bread. Finally, we had the skirt steak. All the dishes were warm, tasty and very nice. No complaints.
It’s a small restaurant but nicely decorated.
We’ll be back.
The food is very tasty and good. The service is ok.
Small room very simple. Cute.
Nice find. The food was amazing.
The entire experience was more than I imagine it could be. Chef Dom is extremely talented. I would eat at this place 5 days a week if I lived closet
What a revelation - Arcwood was everything I've been hoping/wishing for in a neighborhood restaurant and have regretfully missed out on until my first visit this week. Compliments to the superb chef who expertly handles the entire kitchen SOLO, and our server was cheerful and attentive. I had heard that since they keep staff to a minimum, sometimes service is slower. We did not experience that, but I would recommend not going in a rush. You will miss the opportunity to savor the fantastic fare they offer. There was not a single weak spot in the variety of foods. We tried everything from the charcuterie, to the cornbread, two varieties of shrimp, catfish, Brussels sprouts, Tri-tip, honestly, there isn't much on the menu we didn't try. Each dish as good or better than the last. Great to share with friends so everyone gets a taste. We will be back again and again and look forward to supporting this fine establishment for years to come. My only regret - that I waited this long to walk in. LOVE Arcwood.
Always great....very unique dishes !!!
If you love good wine choices and great small plates, then this is the place for you! Come support this small business!
I've been here twice and it's always amazing .The food and wine pairings are inspired and delicious. The waitress was attentive and made good suggestions. Highly recommended.
We had a quiet dinner at Arcwood on Sunday evening. I had driven by so often and really wanted to try it. I was a little disappointed overall. The place is nice and cosy and the patio was warm with the heat lamps. The food was just okay, heavily salted as quite a few reviews mentioned. Portions were a lot smaller than shown in the photos and we left a bit hungrey even after ordering quite a few items. Waitress was nice and friendly and did her best but she was on her own with a lot of tables and bar customers.
