Executive Chef Anthony Paone’s new menu is fresher, cleaner and greener, offering nutrient-dense dishes that might otherwise only be seen on a spa menu. Protein dishes are similarly feel-good food; all the fish, poultry, and meat items are sourced from farms that treat animals, sea life, and workers with ultimate respect. Let the thoughtful design and the power of a shared meal at Archetype elevate your human spirit.
We have always loved the look and feel of the restaurant. The menu is eclectic but in a way that educates you on interesting combinations and opens your mind to try new things. The non-animal based protein items are great to see on a menu. I am starting to cook this way at home and got several ideas of what I should be trying for ourselves and our friends. BRAVO!
Outstanding dinner. The decor is great and the ambiance is very conducive to great conversation. I highly recommend the beet hummus and the fish tacos. Desert was also spectacular with the peanut butter cake and the chocolate globe. We'll be back soon.
Overall the service was great and food was fresh and delicious! Ambiance very cozy
The food and environment were outstanding. Our waiter was pleasant.
Great gluten free options. The corn soup and chicken with dumplings were really great.
Everything was outstanding with our dinner at Archteype. The friendly staff provided impeccable service from start to finish. The food was fresh and hot, and among the most delicious of meals we’ve had. We felt the prices were very reasonable for the quality of both the food and the service. We also enjoyed the lovely ambience of their enclosed patio.
Nice atmosphere and less jammed in tables than some of the other restaurants there. Food was average for a steep price.
This was our 2nd time eating here and loved it just as much as the 1st time!
Great ambiance & wonderful variety of food. Love the vegan options, especially the plant-based vanilla “ice cream”.
I love the ambiance and decor of Archetype - but their brunch food is totally underwhelming for the price. My omelet was undercooked, so was my brothers eggs. His sausages were not fully cooked and potatoes were lukewarm and hard. This is not the first time we've been disappointed by brunch. Hopefully they can figure things out in the kitchen because I love the ambiance inside and on the patio.
Service was very slow, portions were small/ and food presentation was odd. We were in the wine country for a holiday, and this meal didn’t live up to the expectations for this region. Ordered a salad and the chunks were huge. Added chicken to the salad for a main course, and it was dry, and served on the side, as if it had nothing to do with the rest of the dish. My friend ordered fish, and portion was so small and dry, she left hungry!
I would recommend the cocktails, chicken dumplings and donuts. Everything else was just okay.
We really enjoyed our brunch at Archetype and plan to visit again for dinner!
We had a fantastic first experience at Archetype. The food was amazing. Get the chicken and dumplings for sure!
The food was middle of the road and the prices were reasonable. Our reservations were on a Saturday night so the restaurant was filled and some vociferous drunks were at a table in the middle that were distracting from the ambience. My biggest complaint is the wine list - you are in the middle of Napa Valley wine country and why wouldn't you have selections that cover the full range of choices. Most of the wines on the list at Archetype are wines I would not keep in my cellar collection.
Outstanding service by our server Julian. Assist from Estela was equally comparable. Shout out to Charlin and Ana for facilitating our table.
The food was over the top. Cucumber & watermelon gelled with the padron peppers. Everything we ordered was fabulous.
It was a momentous dinner
Creative menu (cauliflower steak!). Very nice relaxing and stylish atmosphere.
Best cream of corn soup ever
Great service at start of dinner that got worse during the meal, needing water etc
Lots of healthy options
Love it here! Food is always good and even though they were out of the wine we requested, they were quick to recommend something else that was just as tasty
Love it as my neighborhood spot! Service a bit slow ! Food great. Please bring back my avocado today salad!!
Great new menu
Super happy hour
Beautiful experience from the moment we stepped off the street into the afternoon porch paradise. Can’t wait to return.
LOVE this place. It's my go to when ever in Calistoga or St. Helena to have brunch with girl friends, special event, or with husband. The interior decor is so comforting that you instantly become relaxed. The food is excellent.
Normally a great dining experience but not this evening.
Slow service, missing utensils, ingredients and no manager
made for a mediocre dinner this evening.
The service was slow but the food was worth the wait! I love their lemon ricotta pancakes and the Norwegian Benedict.
Beautiful space in charming downtown St Helena. Lunch was delicious and service was thoughtful and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend to a friend!
$4.00 for a piece of gluten free bread!
C’mon. That’s outrageous.
The waiter grumbled at having to give us separate checks. We have to do that for business reasons. It’s uncomfortable to be grumbled at.
Beautiful restaurant. Nice staff. The food was good, not mind blowing, but we enjoyed ourselves.
Super cute place, unfortunately we went for our anniversary which wasn’t even acknowledged. Then the food I ordered tasted like it was cooked the day before and reheated. High prices for below average food and average service.
Wonderful California-style spot. The main dining room was beautifully designed but the breeze in the patio was perfect. Delicious food, great wine, great service, all at an extremely reasonable cost. I highly recommend and would go back.
Gorgeous place. The market salad with chicken was great, but could have used a few more tasty additions. The mimosa was terrible, but was replaced with nice champagne. They brought donut holes to the table for my birthday, because they knew from Open Table!!!
From start to finish the service and food was awful. Host was unfriendly and didn’t tell our server we were celebrating a birthday. The food was so bad it was literally inedible: burnt meat, over toasted bread, flavorless salad.
Had an amazing lunch for 2 but the desserts made the entire experience!!
Have never been disappointed here. Sitting out in the front patio is pure magic, one of the best dining environments in Napa Valley.
Great food, lovely space. Highly recommend going for either dinner or lunch. Chicken and dumplings are amazing.
It’s such a pleasure to have a beautiful, peaceful, warm space to enjoy a variety of unique, elegant, delicious vegan and gluten free items!
Excellent food, attentive service from support staff. Host was awkward and made us feel unwelcome.
I have been a local customer since they open. The food and service has been great since the owners took over from the former management company.
Great brunch and Dinner and great knowledge waiter( Ali)
The food and the service great
I’d mentioned we were dining for our friend’s bday. There was no mention of it, nor did the server acknowledge the celebration. We didn’t need all the servers singing to her, but an acknowledgement would have been nice (otherwise, why bother to ask as I book?). The food was tasty, but sparse portions, at a moderate price.
With so many Napa options to choose from this was a disappointment. The service felt obligatory and was uninspired. Some meals extremely undercooked (raw lamb) or overcooked (pizza). Limited wine selection. Recommended to go elsewhere.
