The Archangel, Frome, was excellent. A very interesting building, carefully converted to provide a range of rooms and bars as well as the restaurant. The food was wonderful and the service just right. Toilets were poor, dark and not well maintained. The galvanized tray with spouts for taps did not work.

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Archangel in Frome. To start I had the whitebait but being pregnant when it arrived baby did not agree with my food choice! The restaurant was great and offered to get me something else but my husband was delighted with his 2 starters! ( they did not add it to the bill which was nice). We both had the steak, mine was well done and delicious which most restaurants struggle to achieve. The apple & nut crumble was thoroughly enjoyed by mum and baby.

The Archangel has a real cosy feel about it despite a modern interior. Subtle lighting and a well laid out restaurant help this. The food is modern english and very well executed for each course. Great choice of reasonable value wines and service is not too in your face but there when you need it.
