We are building the kind of place you never want to leave and wish you’d never get full.
The Midwestern Omakase is a passionate expression of Garden To Table, it’s clandestine…yet it exists for all. The menu changes every few weeks, and Thillrist even listed it as a must have dining experience!
Please specify in notes whether you would like the 3, 5, or 7 course option, in addition, please let us know if there is anything you can’t eat.
There are four primary options :
3 courses- $45 + $25 wine
5 courses- $70 + $40 wine
7 courses- $100 + $55 wine
The wine list is extremely fun and quirky with focuses on smaller producers and natural wine practices. If you remotely like wine, then get the pairings.
We aren’t the stuffy type but are relentless about what makes for memorable experiences and lovingly seasoned food. It is less about impressing the guest, and more about love, as that is the warmest kind of hospitality.

Arbor Ratings and Reviews
My experience at Arbor went above and beyond what I could have expected. They were very diligent about our dietary restrictions, and still managed to craft absolutely fantastic courses with exciting and unique wine pairings. We spoke with the owner, and felt very well taken care of the entire time. There was not an air of pretension like some restaurants like this can have, and our service was fantastic.
Chad and the rest of the Arbor staff were outstanding. Giving the serbicecquslity thatbmatchedbtheirvexquidite menu. Their wine pairings were extremely tasty and added flavor and enhanced every course. We certainly will be back to enjoy the experience again.
I wish I could give this 10 stars—it was everything we expected and more! Some of the best food I’ve had, ever, & it was a really great experience speaking with one of the owners & seeing the garden. Staff was super knowledgeable & very friendly. Walking in, it might seem weird since it’s in an office building but man, the food will blow you away!
We were looking really forward to trying Arbor as the reviews, for the most part, are very good. As such, on a recent trip to Chicago, we made reservations for dinner at Arbor (Midwestern Omakase). Unfortunately, we had a less than stellar experience and with so many wonderful dining choices in Chicago, I doubt that we will try it again.
We ordered the 3-course dinner with wine pairings (and we are so glad we did not order the 5 or 7 course as we did not enjoy the food that much and because it would have been too much food for us), and although it felt like a fair price for the amount of food we received, none of the courses were exceptional - although the dessert was by far the best course we had.
- dessert course was very good
- good value
- although we did not love the wines alone, the pairing did complement the food well
- service (our waiter seemed rushed/brusque and did not take time to explain the food or wine)
- food was okay, but we were disappointed as we had high expectations
There is little choice, but one can indicate special diets (fish only or veggie, etc, allergies) and the chef-determined choices were creative and very, very tasty. The wine pairings included interesting, unusual finds. Dessert was ever so slightly disappointing but overall, really excellent food and a fine experience.
Went for dinner and found the food to be wonderful. It's straightforward, fresh food with interesting and original flavor combinations. Our server was knowledgeable about both the food and wine and service was impeccable. We had the 7-course meal with wine pairings. The wines were unique, well chosen and well suited for the courses they came with. If I had a complaint, it would be that the wine pours for the tasting were meager; I'm not asking for half a glass with a tasting, but I would love to have had a few more sips per course. All in all, Arbor is a real gem among Chicago restaurants.
Everything at dinner was fantastic. The server was very accommodating and knowledgeable of everything that came out. The ambiance was romantic and very neat, though the music was a bit on the loud side. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We had the three course meal as this was our first time, but would definitely go back again for the seven course dinner.
Absolutely awesome dining experience. The flavors are unique, the wines are unique, and they are perfectly paired. Many ingredients grown in a garden right beside the building. The setting is subdued and modern. The staff genuinely cares. They accurately describe themselves as unpretentious but obsessed about the food. My new favorite restaurant.
Really amazing place! A hidden gem to be sure. We had the "Midwest Omakase" which was a series of dishes decided by the chef. We got the 5 course meal and while we didn't leave hungry, next time we will get the seven course option just because it was so much fun trying new things. Highlights for us were the skate fish cheek, and the char. The wine flight is also highly recommended. The pairing was always on point, delicious, and unique. The service was amazing: our server, Ally, was knowledgeable, friendly and immediately accommodated our every request. We were given little samples of wonderful drinks and food and the whole atmosphere felt like we hanging out at a classy dinner party with old friends.
We went to Arbor for the first time . Living in the Logan square area, there are many options for "foodies." Arbor by far, had some of the freshest, and best prepared foods I have ever experienced (this is not coming from a chain-eating couple, either ). Leonard, the chef was absolutely spectacular in his food preparations, charisma, and how he displayed his Character throughout the restaurant . Our server, Allie, was extremely well versed and knowledgable in food/wine pairings, and someone who makes you feel right at home . Coming from someone who goes out of state to wineries on a consistent basis, saying these are some of the best wine pairings i have ever tried is an understatement . Overall, food quality , restaurant ambiance, and staff personality is off charts and highly recommended
Just phenomenal- we did the 5 course meal with wine pairings. The food was top notch. Up there with Alinea! And the pairings were even better. The best I've ever had! Such a great find. It feels like the chef and few servers are a family that invited us over for supper.
Arbor is a down to earth, humble gem in the Green Exchange building. The cuisine is farm to table and each dish is a creative layering of flavors, however, each dish is ephemeral. This provides the chefs the ability to constantly push their art while keeping us diners with a new experience each time. Your tastebuds will constantly be challenged at Arbor but the warmth and hospitality remains the same. For someone who wants inspiration in each meal, come here and taste the art without paying a luxury tax. The team at Arbor welcomes you into their home and innovation lab. It's a great juxtaposition one rarely finds.
Had a most enjoyable Saturday evening at Arbor. Beautiful and creative décor, one of the most pleasing I have seen in the Chicago area. Service was fantastic - really sincere, friendly and authentic. The dishes are creative and interesting - sometimes surprising. Having read other reviews about large portion sizes we took the three course menu which my wife was fine with. My son and I decided we wanted a little more food and so the restaurant inserted a 4th course dish in a very appropriate way. They clearly go out of their way to make the customer experience an enjoyable one.
Some aspects are a little quirky - like ordering an Omekase style course but having different guests within the same group receive different dishes, but plated individually. Their food leads itself to sharing and I think it would be better if the dishes were plated centrally this way. Not sure I would go with the wine pairings again - some better than others. However I applaud this restaurant for aiming to bring something different to the dining scene and they deserve continued success. I would try them for brunch except seeing I live downtown I'm not sure I want to go that far in the middle of the day (lazy I know...). Anyway, a fun and different experience which I would encourage you to try. I will definitely return. By the way, thought the bill was very reasonable for what was offered and the overall environment. Bravo !
Arbor was fantastic. We arrived a little early and they were very accommodating. We had the three course dinner, and everything was perfect. They serve different plates to each guest, but they also have plates so it's easy to share. Their wine choices were great too. I would definitely go back for the five course dinner.
We had high expectations for Arbor given all the hype the restaurant has received. The design of the restaurant is very cool (once you find it inside a large industrial building). We ordered the 5 course with wine pairings. While the food was good, it was not great and certainly not up to expectations. The wine matched well with the food, but likewise was not really good wines. They have priced the meal and wine well for the quality level of the food. So, it is good value. But if you expect a gourmet or special meal, you will be disappointed.
