What a wonderful experience dining at Aracosia McLean! The staff, cuisine, decor, ambiance and careful attention to serving safely during a pandemic were exemplary! I can't wait to return.

Every dish, from appetizer to dessert, was a winner. Not the cheapest restaurant meal around, but one of the best.

Noted large windows which when have been to restaurant before at night.... now in daytime, were not clean and definitely took away from restaurant appeal. Plastic (maybe for Covid protection ) table coverings unappealing.

This restaurant is larger and has more ambience than its sister restaurant on Macarthur Blvd in DC. The food is also delicious and tastefully presented. We enjoyed the lamb rib chops (Chopan) kebabs with saffron rice and potatoes. The outdoor patio with canopy is also a blessing in these COVID times.

What an amazing find! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. I made a reservation to sit outside for a lunch meeting, and both my guest and I ordered the Spicy Risotto with Eggplant and Butternut Squash. The presentation was beautiful, the flavors were unique and delicious, and the portion size was perfect.

The food was delicious and lots of choices on the menu. We have three kids under 10. Even the kids menu was good with salmon that the 10 yr old loved. Great staff easy location and the restaurant was quiet Will definitely go back

After hearing about Aracosia from a number of friends we had dinner there on a weekday evening. Although the indoor dining area was busy, distancing was great and from a Covid perspective, everything felt safe.

The star of the evening was the food. I rarely, if ever, say I want to become a regular at any restaurant. Aracosia is most definitely an exception. The appetizer of potato and leek dumplings was light and crisp. Not a hint of oil. We shared two stews, one a yogurt base, the other a tomato base. Both were well seasoned and delicious. Being new to Afghani cuisine, our choices were guided by our waiter who made us feel welcome as soon as we were seated.

Service was attentive, but not intrusive.

Definitely going to become a regular here!

This was my first visit to Aracosia, but it won't be my last. The food was delicious.....fresh and innovative. Not to be missed are the Sabzi Turnovers and the Spicy Beef dumplings. Also had a wonderful chicken stew. Can't wait to try other items on the menu. The service was very good. We sat outdoors in a very comfortable "courtyard." It was a lovely lunch.

I have been hearing about this new restaurant from several people and I am so glad they told me about it! The food is excellent and the service, ambience, everything is wonderful. I met an old friend there for lunch and we were really, really bowled over by the quality and taste of the food. Since we are both retired diplomats, we have eaten food from all over the world - this was definitely top-tier! I hope the restaurant can keep up their standards. If so, they will be around for a long time.

We have been doing carryout since the pandemic and loved it and now that we are vaccinated have returned to dining at the restaurant. So far, just outdoors, but it was wonderful. Plenty of heaters. Service was perfect, food was wonderful. Great cocktail selection and wine list. Plenty to choose from in the menu, and all delicious. Definitely need a reservation, at least on weekends. Best we have in McLean.

Four of us used Aracosia's outdoor seating to celebrate our being "fully vaccinated" (two weeks+ after our last Covid shot). As usual, the food was fabulous (I highly recommend the Hot Mazza Assortment appetizer), the service was exemplary, and the ambiance suffered a bit (until they realized the heater closest to us had run out of fuel and corrected it).

Great food, great service, great staff, and herculean efforts to create a wonderful dining experience notwithstanding the coronavirus situation. Aracosia McLean even had blankets for diners who were chilly while eating in Aracosia's otherwise comfortable outdoor space (it was windy and a bit cold that evening.) We'll be back soon!

Eaten at the Springfield one many times and now been to the Mclean one twice

1) The food is amazing at all locations. The lamb platter can rival most steak houses in term of meat that has a good sear and not overdone. We have introduced 6 people and they have raved over the lamb. The oxtail dumplings and the chicken in the yogurt type sauce is no less outstanding.

2) Service is amazing; we love the waitress we have had twice. dont know her name but try to get the black girl; she knows the food, is fun/friendly, and attentive.

3) We have only eaten outside bc of the pandemic but they have it set up well with heaters and it is so charming. You dont feel like you are "stuck' outside bc of the pandemic the way they have decorated.

Awesome meal. Outstanding food and service. Tried the dumplings, tenderloin kabob, and mixed vegetable stews. Just like the great Afghan Restaurant that used to be in Crystal City but also really nice ambiance and a good drinks menu.

Nice quaint spot with delicious Afghan food. The bread and sauces/ chutneys are delectable. Be sure not to fill up on it before the main course comes. The chutneys are flavorful and we had fun mixing them and dipping the bread and meat in them. The lamb chomps and beef tenderloin was amazingly succulent, and the basmati rice was delicious too. If you want something different, you have to try this place!

This is my fifth visit to Aracosia, twice for lunch and three times for dinner. This was a lunch visit and the same high quality of food and service was served. If you want a taste of Afghan cuisine, go here. Side note, they do not spare the alcohol in their drinks. Good food and drink for the price. Highly recommended.
