i am a long term client of Akasha and this was my first time at AR cucina. I was quite disappoinrted. I had a great initial impression of Akasha but felt over the years it deteriorated quite a lot. I had hoped AR may represent a newly invigorated version of the older, slightly tired akasha but i am afraid i felt it didnt live up to my expectation. service was poor, food wasnt great and im not in a hurry to gop back!
Nice tira misu though!!

It was over 15 minutes from the time we were seated until we were acknowledged by the wait staff. However, this was soon remedied by a complimentary round of cocktails which were expertly made and delicious. The food was very good and quick to arrive. A rocky beginning but the staff made amends and the chopped salad excellent.

I’ll be back again for the Cacio e Pepe. Butter pasta with pepper sounds so simple yet the ingredients are high quality and fresh so it tastes beyond belief amazing. Nice atmosphere for an easy date night or catch up with friends.

Always pretty good, the staff should learn the menus on a more intimate level. Ex. How they make the gnocchi.

This old space previously occupied by Ford's Filling Station was been wonderfully remodeled into a bright airy environment. The food is marvelous, the service great. Only Italian wines so brush up before you go so know what to order. I highly recommend trying this place you will love it.

Unfortunately AR Cucina was a pretty big disappointment. We ordered 5 dishes and only one of them was good. Now granted, the one that we did like was awesome (it was the Albacore Crudo) but it was very overpriced for the size that it was- $13 for 4 small pieces of fish. Then we ordered the octopus (it was way over charred and too rubbery), the pane bianca (too dry- needed olive oil and balsamic to dip it in), and the parma pizza (no flavor and kind of dried out- also needed olive oil). The worst of the night was the tagliatelle- the meat sauce had a very "off" flavor and was not appealing at all. We didn't even have any drinks and our bill was almost $80 to be very disappointed. We really wanted to like this place because it's in the neighborhood and it has a laid back, trendy vibe to it, but the food just wasn't good.

We came here on NYE and were blown away by not only the amazing and attentive staff but the food was unbelievable and SO affordable for what we ordered. Six cocktails, two appetizers, salad, and four main course = $195! Highly recommend this spot!

We went on New Years Eve and we had a hard time getting much service. Also, seated on the patio behind the check-in area and main entrance so was cold and busy. Food excellent as usual!

One of my favorites and go-to spot in Culver City. Not sure if it's the organic vodka or the olives but they make the best martini in town. Food is consistently outstanding but disappointed the prawns came off the menu. Still, can't go wrong here.

The food was great. The service was quick (since we were going to a play, this was important.) It was too loud to have much conversation - but was not made every louder by music playing. It was just hard surfaces and lots of people talking.

We will definitely go again.

I made reservations on Christmas Eve because I had friends in from out of town. We made 6:00 reservations, so it was not peak dining hours. We started with ordering cocktails, and individual small plates. The food arrived in about 5 minutes, the cocktails in around 15 minutes. When I asked to order bread for the table, it arrived after we were finished eating. The dessert menu looked enticing, so we ordered desserts and coffee. The coffee was lukewarm and the desserts arrived without utensils. When I attempted to get the servers attention, he walked in the opposite direction. When he brought utensils, they were coffee spoons. About 5 minutes later, another employee offered us actual forks with which to eat our desserts. This "wonderful" experience cost me close to $200 with tip. I was embarrassed and disappointed. At least the food was quality, but the experience certainly was not.

Our dinner date was very rushed. We were seated at 5:50 and had paid the bill by 6:20. They brought out entrees while we were still eating salad. Don’t have drip coffee. Food was ok. Ended up going to an earlier movie since dinner was so quick.

Booked a table for dinner with a friend. We arrived and were greeted warmly by the host. The meal began well... Then our server vanished. We never received the bread we ordered for the table (though we were not charged for it either) -- would have asked the server about it if we could have found him prior to nearly finishing our meal. Had to ask to have water glasses refilled as he hurried by the table. Pasta was good, might have ordered dessert under other circumstances. Perhaps this was an off-night or an atypical experience. But as it was my first at the restaurant, I would not return. Simply too many other options. Disappointing.

This was my fifth dining experience at AR Cucina and I knew the food was very good there, unfortunately we were disappointed with the service and indirectly with the food.
I took a date there for dinner. We had a nice small square table for two outside on the patio,
We ordered two appetizers and two pasta as well as a bottle of Red wine and a bottle of sparkling water.
The busboy brought the two appetizers and we started to eat. We were in no rush, it was a Sunday night and the dining room was half empty. About 3-4 ' into our appetizers, the busboy brought the two pasta. First there was just no room on that small table to place them as we were still eating the first course, second: it would have been nice that the waiter pay attention to us before putting the order for the pasta in. The busboy took them back to the kitchen and brought them again about 10-12' later, of course they were not as hot and as tasty as they should have been. I served ourselves the wine and the water, neither a busboy or our waiter catered to our table. It was definitely not a great dining experience and I am sure the pastas would have been great eating them right after they were cooked.

We had a great experience at AR Cucina. The service was excellent, the staff very personable and friendly! The food was very tasty and cooked to perfection. We had the trout and the Ahi Tuna pasta and would recommend both dishes. The pace of the service was perfect as we very much like to take our time eating and have a relaxing meal. Since our overall experience was so positive, I would highly recommend this restaurant. I know we will return!

The food here is good. We had a bianco pizza, cacio e pepe, chicken meatballs, and tricolor salad. The waitstaff are friendly and helpful. It’s usaually noisy in this restaurant. A charming, casual restaurant.

Always delicious and delightful. The freshmade pasta is exquisite, try the black pepper pasta. The cocktails are delicious, try the Fresca Verde, or any of the selection of Negroni.

The food was very good - lots of good details in the preparation. It was thanksgiving so the kitchen was very busy - service was a little bumpy: servers didn't bring all the plates at once, got the dessert order wrong (server failed to confirm the difference between ice cream and vegan coconut option). Otherwise, it was fine. People were friendly. This is a good place for very casual dining. Not fancy.

I've been here three times now and the food is quite good, especially the pastas. I had the Fettuccine on my most recent visit and was very impressed. I was a bit disappointed with the Mista salad - the balsamic dressing was not very flavorful. They have a nice wine list and an extensive menu with lots to pick from.
