AR Cucina Ratings and Reviews
It was over 15 minutes from the time we were seated until we were acknowledged by the wait staff. However, this was soon remedied by a complimentary round of cocktails which were expertly made and delicious. The food was very good and quick to arrive. A rocky beginning but the staff made amends and the chopped salad excellent.
This old space previously occupied by Ford's Filling Station was been wonderfully remodeled into a bright airy environment. The food is marvelous, the service great. Only Italian wines so brush up before you go so know what to order. I highly recommend trying this place you will love it.
Unfortunately AR Cucina was a pretty big disappointment. We ordered 5 dishes and only one of them was good. Now granted, the one that we did like was awesome (it was the Albacore Crudo) but it was very overpriced for the size that it was- $13 for 4 small pieces of fish. Then we ordered the octopus (it was way over charred and too rubbery), the pane bianca (too dry- needed olive oil and balsamic to dip it in), and the parma pizza (no flavor and kind of dried out- also needed olive oil). The worst of the night was the tagliatelle- the meat sauce had a very "off" flavor and was not appealing at all. We didn't even have any drinks and our bill was almost $80 to be very disappointed. We really wanted to like this place because it's in the neighborhood and it has a laid back, trendy vibe to it, but the food just wasn't good.
Return visit to AR Cucina. Extraordinary pasta quality, delicious sauces, inventive entrees and flawless service standards and follow through guarantee AR Cucina will be our first choice for a gourmet experience that does not bankrupt the diner. Thumbs up and congrats!
The food was great. The service was quick (since we were going to a play, this was important.) It was too loud to have much conversation - but was not made every louder by music playing. It was just hard surfaces and lots of people talking.
We will definitely go again.
I made reservations on Christmas Eve because I had friends in from out of town. We made 6:00 reservations, so it was not peak dining hours. We started with ordering cocktails, and individual small plates. The food arrived in about 5 minutes, the cocktails in around 15 minutes. When I asked to order bread for the table, it arrived after we were finished eating. The dessert menu looked enticing, so we ordered desserts and coffee. The coffee was lukewarm and the desserts arrived without utensils. When I attempted to get the servers attention, he walked in the opposite direction. When he brought utensils, they were coffee spoons. About 5 minutes later, another employee offered us actual forks with which to eat our desserts. This "wonderful" experience cost me close to $200 with tip. I was embarrassed and disappointed. At least the food was quality, but the experience certainly was not.
Booked a table for dinner with a friend. We arrived and were greeted warmly by the host. The meal began well... Then our server vanished. We never received the bread we ordered for the table (though we were not charged for it either) -- would have asked the server about it if we could have found him prior to nearly finishing our meal. Had to ask to have water glasses refilled as he hurried by the table. Pasta was good, might have ordered dessert under other circumstances. Perhaps this was an off-night or an atypical experience. But as it was my first at the restaurant, I would not return. Simply too many other options. Disappointing.
This was my fifth dining experience at AR Cucina and I knew the food was very good there, unfortunately we were disappointed with the service and indirectly with the food.
I took a date there for dinner. We had a nice small square table for two outside on the patio,
We ordered two appetizers and two pasta as well as a bottle of Red wine and a bottle of sparkling water.
The busboy brought the two appetizers and we started to eat. We were in no rush, it was a Sunday night and the dining room was half empty. About 3-4 ' into our appetizers, the busboy brought the two pasta. First there was just no room on that small table to place them as we were still eating the first course, second: it would have been nice that the waiter pay attention to us before putting the order for the pasta in. The busboy took them back to the kitchen and brought them again about 10-12' later, of course they were not as hot and as tasty as they should have been. I served ourselves the wine and the water, neither a busboy or our waiter catered to our table. It was definitely not a great dining experience and I am sure the pastas would have been great eating them right after they were cooked.
We had a great experience at AR Cucina. The service was excellent, the staff very personable and friendly! The food was very tasty and cooked to perfection. We had the trout and the Ahi Tuna pasta and would recommend both dishes. The pace of the service was perfect as we very much like to take our time eating and have a relaxing meal. Since our overall experience was so positive, I would highly recommend this restaurant. I know we will return!
The food was very good - lots of good details in the preparation. It was thanksgiving so the kitchen was very busy - service was a little bumpy: servers didn't bring all the plates at once, got the dessert order wrong (server failed to confirm the difference between ice cream and vegan coconut option). Otherwise, it was fine. People were friendly. This is a good place for very casual dining. Not fancy.
Friends recommended this restaurant which was close to the theater which were going to that evening. Very pleasant surprise. Not only was it convenient for the theater both the food and service were first rate . We will plan on eating there in the future even if we are not going to the theater.
I've been here three times now and the food is quite good, especially the pastas. I had the Fettuccine on my most recent visit and was very impressed. I was a bit disappointed with the Mista salad - the balsamic dressing was not very flavorful. They have a nice wine list and an extensive menu with lots to pick from.
Had a lovely evening at AR Cucina where the food was good and the waitstaff friendly and helpful. I had the tricolore salad which was crisp and delicious and the cacio e pepe pasta which was delicious. People in my party had sorbetti, ice cream, soft serve and enjoyed their desserts.
We went here for the amatriciana pasta. The taste was good but the portion was so tiny I laughed. We have just returned from Italy where we ate this pasta all over Rome and elsewhere because we love it. I wanted to tell the owner that if she served pasta like that to an Italian there would be disbelief and outrage
The service was so pathetic that I cannot recommend this restaurant even though the food was good. The restaurant was 1/2 empty and still the waiter and bus boys were not at all attentive. I had to get up and get my own plate at one point , got knives from the table next to me etc. This lousy service was frustrating and disappointing. We shall not return. I expected better!
Must say that our service was quite spotty. One of these would have been minor; the grouping was problematic. My friend's eggs arrived over hard, not over easy, as she had ordered. She had to ask a few times for salt and pepper (the salt came but not the pepper). I had to ask a couple of times for mustard; the first time a server-helper told me he wasn't sure the restaurant had any mustard. Are you training a new crew? Must say that I was disappointed after having had high expectations based on many visits to Akasha and to the late, lamented Indian eatery.
