Our menu is influenced by rustic italian dishes that chef owner Gabriella Torelli creates and prepares. The menu changes with the seasons and focuses on using local, seasonal produce and artisan products. The bar offers a selection of hand-crafted italian classics along with a variety of multi regional italian wines and aperitifs.

We ALWAYS LOVED AR Cucina until this weekend! It was one of our favorite restaurants! New management, new chef. New owners took over last week unbeknownst to us. FOOD VERY POORLY prepared. Changed menu-- limited, mostly meat (I don't eat red meat). Our favorite dishes (from appetizers, entrees, desserts)were taken off the menu. In past, pasta homemade--now it is bought pasta!
Would not go back nor recommend.
Be warned people!!!! This was a total disaster from start to finish! Waited 45 minutes and still had not gotten even the drinks we’d ordered!!!! The only time in my life that we’ve left a restaurant after ordering food! Unfortunately this was a special birthday dinner for six people - we had no way to know that the restaurant is no longer really AR Cucina- apparently new management just took over. Server was polite and apologetic but after getting NO appetizers, NO drinks (how hard can it be to make two martinis?!?!) and having to ask for more bread (which we were initially told we’d be charged for!!!!!) we were truly stymied as to what was going on with the bar or the kitchen! Wed never had any experience like this at AR in the past! No manager ever stopped by our table, no explanation as to what was the problem. Nada.
This place used to be wonderful- we will not be back! Former AR patrons- be forewarned! Very sad!
first and foremost we would like to apologize for your experience at AR Cucina. As mentioned, we are under new management as of Tuesday this week. It was a very quick transition on all ends, and we are actively trying to create a smooth dining experience for current and previous AR guest. We would like to invite you back 50% off a party of four to give you the experience you expected and deserved. please contact us via e-mail so we can make this right and give you the experience you deserve.
Good was mediocre except for the pasta which was delucious
We went there before theater at the Kirk Douglas. We thought the menu was a bit understated and uninteresting, but we had salads and shared the lamb bolognese over polenta, which was excellent. The martinis were very good as well. We ended up pleasantly surprised.
The octopus was not good at all, the amateur level. The beans tasted from the cans and undercooked. The pork chop was overcook and nothing special. The polenta with ragu was good!
I love this place!! Great food & service
Listen, I don’t want to make this place too popular with my review but holy macaroni salad the food here is incredible! They don’t have macaroni salad that’s just euphemism. I don’t know who they have in that kitchen but they sure know what they’re doing. Also the decor, the little touches like their initials in their ice cubes and the wooden deck outside that’s built around the tree was pretty. Our waitress was also very friendly and attentive but not intrusive.
A nice place for lunch in Culver City. Not crowded. Not noisy.
Small portion sizes and pricey for what you get. Food was delicious and service was good. Outside patio was noisy but nice to sit there on a nice evening.
Loved the vodka cream sauce!! The best and avocado salad was so refreshing, Yum!
We had our anniversary dinner and our next door neighbor friends also were celebrating their anniversary too!
We thought it would be great to have dinner together!
It was a lovely dinner! Drinks were good and the food was delicious. The only part that was lacking was the peach crostata, which we thought was unusually strange as the food is usually fantastic. We still highly recommend AR Cucina!
Nice clean space. Food was delicious....from the meatballs to sea bass.
Great Meatballs !
Both the service and the food were fantastic in the wine recommendation was perfect
Always a great experience here. The food, atmosphere and service always bring us back.
The pasta was homemade and delicious. Suggest adding their chili flakes to the pasta.
AR Cucina was awesome! The Sangria was delightful and refreshing. Hopefully it becomes a regular part of the menu. The Chicken Park was top notch too. Great advice and ambiance! I’ll definitely be back.
The Happy Hour is great serving things like Chicken Parm bites, and delicious sliders. I noticed they also have a cheese and meat plate which would be fun to try. We were celebrating an anniversary, and though they put a candle in our dessert, they charged us for the dessert, and it would be nice if they did something for you. But the food is good, nice quality. We had the outside porch all to ourselves on a Tuesday nite but I had to search for some parmesan cheese because of lack of wait staff, and there was nobody to say goodbye to at the front when we left, so I think they could be a little better on customer appreciation, but will probably go back at some point. I won't run.
Always great food. The house made pasta is so good! Nice patio seating and open floor plan.
The chicken parmigiana is hands down the best I’ve ever had. The tagliatelle pasta is also very flavorful and was great. We also had a Caprese salad special that was beautifully done. Big fan of this place for overall food quality and value. I also always have great and attentive service from all members of the staff.
It was so loud we couldn’t hear each other speak!
My lasagna was, really good, pretty perfect actually. But 5 years later eating at them all regularly, the Akasha properties don’t spend a lot of time table-side, not heavy with customer service, save a few waiters at Akasha. It’s ironic really, because I believe they go out of their way for fresh produce, and her menu it’s pretty unique so you would think there would be much to discuss and be proud about.
Bday and family night out
We sat dish at our table and never saw our server again :/ I asked for the same thing multiple times and still never got it. Food was good not great. Super cute place though,
Pop up with Chef Bruce Kalman- Amazing!
After reading an extensive menu, we decided to order from it rather than the "DINE LA" MENU" which certainly would have been adequate. Just felt like their chopped salad and PIZZA and GELATO for dessert.
We were more than satisfied w/our choices and plan to go back, possibly next week while "DINE LA" is still available. Thank you, very much!
Dine LA menu was reasonable pricing with a glass of wine which was nice. But, Sorry to say that the chopped salad was practically inedible. My wife likes salt. Puts finishing salt on most everything including salad. But this salad was so salty it was ridiculous and even she could not eat it. Might have been the dressing but who knows. We told the waiter who took it back but no mention of what the kitchen thought. Also the chicken parm breading was also super salty as was the roasted vegetables on the side for my main. So clearly, we have a chef in the kitchen who has no taste buds or made a recipe wrong. Also the roman pizza slice was sooo tiny and literally four small bites and not that good. Eggplant parm was nice as were the deserts. But as you can see the bad dishes tilted this experience to the wrong direction. Previous experience here 2 years ago was also underwhelming, so needless to say we won't be back. Akasha Richmond who owns this place should be more on top of this. Akasha a couple doors down is really good.
Very pleasant dinner with good food. Noise level increased as more people came in. The background music was also loud. It was dinela and the choices were very good. The glass of wine that was included was another nice touch.
Love this place! I always take my daughter for dinner when I visit her in LA. Location, ambience, staff, and food are excellent. Just wish portion sizes were a bit larger.
Always happy with our food at AR Cucina - we had the burrata (yum), cacio e pepe bread, their chopped salad is one of the best I've ever had (and consistent), loved the orechiette with pesto and broccolini and the chicken parm is always so crispy and delightful. And my Aperol spritz was the perfect accompaniment for it all. We had a very nice dinner to celebrate our Anniversary!
Loved everything including the service!! Our waiter was exceptional!!!
The food is always good, but I didn't love the Chocolate Almond Torte dessert. It was ok, but not special. I wish they didn't charge for bread, but I enjoyed the pizza bread for $4.00. Chopped salad is always good, as is the cace e pepe.
Food was great, restaurant was awesome. We took a client and it was a great place to go for a work lunch.
Service, food, ambience are all exceptional at this low key, neighborhood gem. This was our third time back in a month, it never disappoints.
Great service from Jim and delicious food We decided to go there before a performance at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. We made reservations for a Saturday night. Reservations were recommended but not needed for the night we visited.
Authentic, homemade pastas properly seasoned and sauced! Excellente.
I met my friend at AR Cucina to celebrate her birthday. This is one of our favorite spot in Culver City. Our server was very patient as my friend was caught in traffic and was quite late. We shared a salad and each had an entree. They brought a tiramisu on the house with a candle.
This is a cozy Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Culver City. The food is quite good--tasty and authentic. The wine portions are small, causing my friend to order a second glass out of necessity. A little bit pricey, but worth the money.
