At 10:30pm the brought the lights up 100%, turn the music in the kitchen up and when we complain about been "kicked out" that way the bartender told us that they close at 9:30pm, that THEY NEEDED TO GO HOME and that he needed the lights all the way up "TO CLEAN". We saw all of them leaving before we did while we were saying our good byes in the parking garage. AWFUL experience, absolutely disrespectful staff.
Love this place - Great vibe, great food, great drinks and wine list!
The restaurant was open and airy with a direct view into the kitchen. The kitchen area is not behind glass so you can watch them prepare your meal if you desire. The menu had a great selection and every pasta item they carry can be substituted with a gluten-free pasta if needed. The wine list was not very extensive but they do have a full bar. Our wait time was non-existent; there was plenty of seating at 6:30 p.m. on a Saturday night. The service was good and everyone enjoyed their meals. There was nothing wrong with the food and nothing wrong with the service but there was nothing that made this place stand out either.
All of the food was excellent as were the cocktails. The drinks took a while to arrive but we didnt have any other issues. We wanted to sit out front but it was full so we sat on the quieter side patio. Not as fun for people watching but totally fine! We had a great time and everyone liked their meals.
Restaurants should never have strongly scented flowers present in the dining area. The hostess placed a large bouquet of lilys on the table next to us about 10mins before we ate....it's all we could smell and honestly ruined the wonderful flavors of the meal.
Food was delicious, I had the bucatini with eggplant and vegan parm (delish!). Service was very poor, the waitress was great when she showed up, but it took about 15mins for her to first appear, then about 40mins to take our order. There were many empty tables and they did not appear to be understaffed, so not sure what the deal was. I'll give them a second chance as the food was great.
The shrimp dish was delivered with two whole shrimp and two heads. I then had to wait another 20min for a new dinner.
Also the sliced steak was horrific. Really didn’t taste like steak. Inedible.
Waiter seemed a little impatient and lacking in knowledge. Even made a few off-color comments about what food we were deciding to keep on the table as we went through the courses. Steak was under cooked, bleeding rare when we had asked for medium rare. No big deal but it was completely obvious to me, someone with a decent amount of experience working in food service. All in all not a bad experience, but for the price, the food and service were less than satisfying. Would not choose to go back with so many other options in the neighborhood.
Cocktails were not done well, we sent them back and switch to wine but we still got charged for them. Food is average, not bad but average. In my opinion, the price point doesn't match the quality.
The pesto pasta was very salty. The cheese board was great and so was the wine.
Overall great meal. Octopus app is phenomenal. Lasagna was awesome incredible as well as the linguini and clams. Lamb ragu on polenta with kale was great, except the kale was uneattable from over salting. Great time otherwise
Really great food, everything! Prawns excellent, lasagna superb, bread hot and crusty, dessert delicious.
AR Cucina is a very good restaurant. Excellent happy hour. Excellent pizzas, fish and other dinner entrees.
had reservations and they sat us inside. The noise level is awful. They were very nice about finding us a table outside, still little noisy because of traffic. Asked for bread and they said there is a charge. Just like Europe
Excellent food- consistently great experience! Love this place e
We had a solid meal from start to finish, though there was an error when placing our order so one of the items didn't arrive until well after the others. Though the waiter apologized for the mix-up, it would have been nice to have that item comped. We sat on the patio which is quite lovely and was quieter than usual for a Saturday night.
We’ve eaten there many times and the food and service is always excellent.
This was our first visit to this restaurant and was chosen based on mostly good reviews, and all the dishes we ordered were very good, TILL we ordered a pasta dish with clams which happened to be really, really salty. We asked the waitress to remake it with less salt, and the result was a little better but not much. We also asked for a basket of breads which didn't come at the beginning (assuming it came with the dinner). What was a damper of all was that we were charged for asking the pasta dish to be remade with some kind of an extra kitchen staff appreciation fee (!!!) which was unheard of, plus charge for breads too. The waitress could have explained that ahead of time about the kitchen staff charge and charge for the breads.
When I made the reservation, I specifically mentioned "birthday" but nothing was offered or mentioned and completely ignored. I was a bit disappointed at the uneven experience overall especially toward the end.
Had to go to Culver City for an event and wanted to grab a casual dinner dinner first. This place was amazing. The pizza bread wow! Home made pastas and good service love
I was recently introduced to this little gem and has now become a favorite. The food, service and people are all “spot on”. I would definitely recommend AR Cucina to anyone looking a special place to gather for wonderful food, service and great time!
Excellent food with creative dishes. A little too much pepper in one of the pasta dishes for one of us but otherwise all the rest loved their choices. Patio area was perfect for outdoor dining. Good service.....Dash was great!
Frankly, I was a bit disappointed with the service from our dinner last weekend. While our waitress was pleasant, because she was also mixing drinks, our used plates were left unbussed for most of the time. Our water glasses never got refilled nor did they even come around to ask if we wanted refills. There were only 4 tables being serviced that time so I don't understand why the service was just poor. I'm really disappointed because it's always been a reliable restaurant for me with homemade pasta and has a nice neighborhood vibe. But considering the price of the entree and glass of wine, it just was a HUGE disappointment.
Had the caesar salad, margherita pizza and fennel sausage pizza. Would not recommend any of these items. Very disappointed.
Good food. Service is a little odd and infrequent for a highly rated restaurant - refills on water, table touching, and explanation of food did not happen.
Excellent food; helpful friendly service
Great Cacio e pepe! Everything from the fig salad to the chicken "parm" was delicious. It is a little loud inside though...
Service not so great—kind of tainted our otherwise good meal. Have had other good meals here before, so may have just been an off night.
Branzino dish way too salty, linguine way too spicy, got cocktail after food delivered, no follow up, no coke refill, had to pay for bread you would get complimentary at other places —-
for the prices, 👎. Had nothing to do with loud mentally ill woman next door.
AR Cucina never disappoints! The Burrata and Octopus appetizers are a must! Alan is a wonderful host, who makes you feel like family!
Another delicious meal and easy-going, friendly staff!
the food is very good. the noise level is pretty deafening
My halibut was overcooked as we're the vegetables, but it tasted delicious
AR Cucina does everything right. The menu provides great options. The pizza is a must try! AR Cucina is a neighborhood gem!
The pasta with eggplant is on another level. Incredible!
Perfectly cooked and tasty pasta dishes! Nice Salumi board. I loved the personal photos throughout the bathrooms and hallways. Recognized some of these places in Italy.
We had dinner on their patio recently. You'll get a lot of noise from street traffic, but that didn't bother us. The food was really good. The Tagliatelle was homemade from scratch, and you could taste it. Our server--a lady who I can't remember her name--was really on top of things and anticipated our needs more than once. The man who greeted us initially was charming and witty. All in all a very good experience.
The food and cocktails at AR Cucina was delicious and they served generous portions! They also accommodated my birthday request with ease.
Akasha’s Italian restaurant. Excellent food. Some fresh from her gardens. Good happy hour menu in the bar or delicious meals on the patio. Meal prices are decent but wines are pricey. I would recommend
We love this restaurant and will return, but this week, other than getting our drink orders wrong, the cacio e pepe (our favorite here!) wasn't consistent with the quality or portion that we are used to. hopefully was just a fluke to do with the burden of Dine LA.
Service was great, food was hit or miss. Seasoning was all over the place. My chicken was waaaay too salty but the rapini it was served with was so underseasoned that if you mixed them together as one bite, it almost worked. The pasta was also severely underseasoned so ended up tasting like nothing. The pizza was really tasty, with a nice spicy kick.
I went with a friend for my birthday. I noted the occasion on the reservation and was not disappointed by the birthday greetings from the staff and the olive oil cake with a birthday candle. The only downsides were the tough brocolini and the loudness of the restuarant chatter.
