I like the selection of meals sizes and location.
Excellent service. Delicious food. Only downside was noise level. We would recommend!
The service and attitude of the staff is always awful here. I don’t Know why I go back!!
We like that the menu changes often, and that they maintain the same quality of their pasta.
We had a great meal and excellent service. We were staying at the Culver Hotel and it is a easy walk from there.
so very noisey.good service good food. will not go back
As usual, food, drinks and ambiance were amazing but our poor server was stretched too thin! Not her fault, but the restaurant needs more servers!
Loved the food. Too loud unfortunately. The staff are not trained well. They seem unhappy, Ignorant and insincere. Please give them some training on service, then reward them and give positive feedback, as deserved. Tell them to communicate better, apologize when mistakes are made, and make your guest feel special. My drink order was wrong twice and I felt guilty returning it because of the attitude I was given. We were never asked how the meal was, throughout the whole evening. Our dessert arrived without the birthday candle they promised. Obviously the food is very important for a successful restaurant, but mediocre service is deadly.
The food is always terrific, as is the service. The only real criticism I have is that they have a somewhat limited Scotch selection.
Our first visit won't be our last. Lovely, lively room with open kitchen, attentive, knowledgeable service. We all enjoyed our selections of homestyle Italian dishes, richly flavored.
AR Cucina has become our 'go-to' place to celebrate birthdays. AR Cucina is Akasha Richmond's salute to Roman cuisine in Culver City. On Culver in the heart of Culver City, the restaurant is the former home of Ford's Filling Station. The restaurant has two substantial and protected patios, a full bar with seating and a rather substantial dining room. The vibe is casual elegance - clearly fine dining but a typical California casual atmosphere. The service is amazing!
So fresh and unique. Perfect for vegetarian and gluten free diners.
-Burrata Mozzarella - so fresh and the tomato/olive oil is perfection!
-Mixed Olives - the mix of coriander, fennel, and orange peel creates an amazing flavor.
-Chicken Meatballs - the sauce and cheese create the juiciest meatballs
-Fritto Misto - rice flour dusted squid, squash, carrots, fennel, tuscan chile tomato sauce
-Lasagna Verde - spinach pasta, short rib ragú, fonduta, parmigiano-reggiano
-Branzino - grilled sea bass, oven roasted cherry tomatoes, crispy capers, lemon
Also, they surprised us with a variety of desserts which were the best!
Really upset about the new chef! This was a favorite since it opened, but the last two visits were more then disappointing. For some reason, the Octopus appetizer was changed into a salad with half the amount of meat. The lasagna was an over cheesed mess. And the pasta was not finely cooked as before.
Also seemed to be a lot pricier!
The cocktails while good have definitely gone up in price. Is it the addition of the fancy ice cubes etched with A&R??? If so - sorry....
Great service, very hospitable. Love the ambience and the food is outstanding.
We loved the food. The menu had many unusual offering.s Everything was fresh and delicious. Convenient parking
Valentine’s day! We omitted the special menu and ordered from the original. Mushroom fungi pizza + lasagna verde. Both were amazing!!!
Never disappointed when I dine here. Food and wine selection are superb! Great for a date night or a delicious dinner with friends.
Had a reservation but made to sit outside in freezing weather without proper heating. Restaurant just shrugged.
This was my first time at AR Cucina, but it will not be my last. Everyone in our party of 5 was pleased with their meal. I can only speak for my own meal, the orchiette, which was absolutely delicious. The pesto was as good as any I've had on my many trips to Italy. It was a lovely way to share a rainy Sunday evening with out of town guests.
Great Italian restaurant in Culver City with excellent service..the pear and walnut salad was wonderful, as was the clam pasta and the cracked black pepper pasta my friend enjoyed.. it gets noisey later on, so if you want to converse, make early reservations.
Great selection of food for Happy Hour. However, you can only sit on very uncomfortable chairs in the bar area for Happy Hour, and it is also extremely noisy.
The food was very tasty, but we were disappointed that there were not more vegan options. We'd go there more often if there were. Noise level, also, was high. High-quality olive oil. Tasty warm pizza dough for their bread. The salad and pasta dish we had was yummy. But we thought $15 for one portion of the chocolate sorbet dessert was high.
The food is always good here. Despite some hiccups with my entree, server was attentive and made sure my dish was right.
Great food but overpriced for what it is. The the lasagne is the star item here - so good! Service started off wobbly (no one came for a good ten mins to serve us u til I asked for someone to come over..) then got better.
We had some excellent happy hour glasses of wine, cocktails and beer, a great margarita flatbread and a terrific fritto misto. Loved the fennel in it. We enjoyed two pasta main courses, the pasta ears with basil pesto and the green lasagna with ragu, a very imaginative dish. A great evening.
Quiet enough to hear yourselves, that's a welcome relief. The food seemed to be better when this restaurant first opened. But the ambience is warm.
Always enjoy my meal at AR Cucina
AR Cucina is on point for authentic Italian food. Akasha Richmond combines fresh ingredients with those from her Italian sources. The bread and the pasta are the BEST! As manager Rachael runs a great restaurant. Do try and catch Felix behind the bar and/or as your server.
Include Happy Hour wines and beers plus snacks in your visit.
The food was very good, but the service was a mess from checking in through the end. We had reservations and the hostess literally had to ask us our name on four separate occasions even thought we were the only ones standing there. Not horrid but odd, nonetheless. Once we were seated, it took 20 minutes to get water for the table, 40 minutes to get our drinks. The table next to us, who arrived well after we did, had their drinks served before we did. Our waitress was darling and friendly but mostly MIA. Our appetizer came well before our drinks. Strange all around. The restaurant was crowded and it seems like they were not prepared.
Lovely meal. Got a bit loud after a while but it was a busy night.
I love the food and atmosphere at AR Cucina. The problem is the service gets really spotty when they get busy on Friday and Saturday nights. We were right in the main pathway and service people passed by us dozens of times without noticing that we’d been finished eating for 20 minutes. When I finally flagged down our server and asked for the check (we would have gotten dessert but didn’t want to deal with more delays), she seemed surprised and asked if we were finished eating. Our plates were empty. Obviously, she hadn’t been paying attention. I said “yes, for quite a while.” No response. She just took the plates away and brought the check. She wasn’t rude, just didn’t acknowledge that we hadn’t had great service. I’ll go back. I just don’t expect great service.
Food and drinks were delicious, service was fast and friendly
Super cozy patio with candles and comfortable chairs.
This place is loud, but the food is really good. We had the spinach pasta and it was really fantastic. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. The place was lively and fun. The wine was reasonably priced and good.
The food and service were very good. The crowd was young, hip and energetic so it was very loud, which made it difficult to hear what my date was saying.
The food is great and service was also great. The pizza was very unique it that it’s dough was very light and airy while being a new take on neopolitan mixed with the style of home cooking!!! Getting a seat however during this experience was a chore. We were moved a few different times. I had a reservation and was early in the evening. I’d like to sit in a prime spot in an uncomfortable spot that was cold on a patio (rainy winter day). So we moved once based on the next suggestion and finally compromising again in a spot right next to the patio door feeling like we were in the walkway when there were plenty of tables next to us. We would appreciate a host getting this right... at least the second time. I would totally go again cause the food is fantastic.
Went here for a birthday dinner. The food was delish and service was fast.
wine pours are small. they don't seem standard pours.
Food was ok...I don't think I'd go back as I wasn't impressed. To me it was basic Italian food. Two of us has orcchiette pasta, even though the menu said the pasta was housemade it definitely didn't taste like it. The Indian restaurant that used to be here was much better. But they did have half off wine bottles on Tuesday so that's nice
We typically love Italian but this place fell a little short of expectations. We ordered the chicken parm and the tagliatelle. The parm was a 2/5 - the meat itself was cooked well but the breading was a little odd and there was SO much cheese (a little too much and we love cheese). The tagliatelle 4/5 - the pasta was fresh and meat sauce was well done; nothing special about it though. Overall, I cant give a 4 or 5 here but 3 is reasonable.
Our only problem was that Open Table was not informed that we arrived for our reservation on time.
