An extensive wine collection, small-batch cocktails from extraordinary mixologists, and locally brewed beers are beautifully paired for an experience like none other at Nemacolin’s Forbes Four-Star restaurant.
The setting is very nice, and the service was also very good but the food disappointed for the price. The squash bisque had an unpleasant after taste and the consistency was a bit too watery. The truffle flavor in the mac and cheese was overpowering. The entrees were solid but would have expected more polish for the prices

Mealy, clearly frozen shrimp/prawns in their 4 shrimp, $27 shrimp cocktail.
Filet Mignon was 2 thin slices, not a full filet. I ordered medium and 1 piece was essentially uncooked and had to be sent back.
The cost of the 2 slice filet was $52.
Would NEVER go back.

I highly recommend the crab cake appetizer & shrimp cocktail appetizer! Our meals were absolutely perfect, the fillet, the sea bass and perfectly prepared scallops made our very special Birthday Celebration Perfect!

Food wasn’t tasty - very bland. Everything else was good.
Aqueous has a lot going for it-- it's a very lovely restaurant and we had a very comfortable booth (corner booth, complete with extra cushions). The servers were helpful and accommodating. Overall, it was a nice night, but a few drawbacks:
- The beef tartare was terrible. It's not very raw/wet. Not at all what we were expecting. And covered in olives that stained everything, including our fingertips.
- There was a very large party in the dining room that was very loud and ruined the atmosphere. I understand it's probably hard for the restaurant to control other tables' volume levels, but it put a damper on the evening.
-The sommelier was not very helpful after he discovered we were "only" interested in wine by the glass. (This was compared with the sommelier at Rockwells, also on Nemacolin's grounds who was amazing and very helpful.)
Our waiters were caring and attentive. I enjoyed the Crab, two ways, and the quinoa salad with kale and cauliflower was excellent! My husband enjoyed the steak, and our friends enjoyed the gnocchi and squash soup. We loved the beautiful view out of the e windows. I will be back again.
We were disappointed in the double stack. It was a lot of food but the oysters were tiny and all of it was served cold. It was just unexpected and not explained. Then to warm up we ordered soup and that was really disappointing. It was almost gelatinous - we just were disappointed in the food. It was fairly loud which didn’t bother us and the service was good. Just disappointed in the food.

An exceptional dining experience. The service, the meal and the ambience were all incredible. We could not have picked a better place to celebrate a special birthday.

Set in a mission style decorated dining room we had beautifully cooked sea bass and scallops respectively. The Knowledgeable sommelier and fast kitchen meant the wine pairing was spot on and we got to eat without delay!
Wonderful food one bad drink that we were still charged for... probably should have not done that!

The service, food and attention to detail is wonderful. We were disappointed there were not more vegetarian options. We were considering cancelling our reservation, because there wasn’t much to choose from (vegan and gluten free). We stopped by earlier in the day to see if some other dishes could be prepared. It was also restaurant week. The person we spoke to talked to the chef and we were assured they would make something special for us. The evening of our reservation, we mentioned this to our server. He said they would do extra vegetables. However, we were only offered the standard fare, no extra vegetables, etc. To be fair, maybe that is all the chef had to work with. Luckily, my wife and I still occasionally eat seafood, so she had the Chilean bass.I had the gnocchi (she could not because of the gluten). We hope more plant friendly options will be added in the future.
Enjoyed clam chowder, oysters, scallops and duck. Preferred sea bass was sold out. Generous cheese tray for dessert.

Beautiful restaurant..service staff,very professional,attentitive..beautiful setting..clean,spacious..thought the food sub par..portions small for the price..thought the duck I ordered could have been cooked more..side dish not creative or tasty..crab cakes..very sparse..not a fresh flavor..next time I stay at the resort will go with other dining options
We were sent to the restaurant to try the scallops and were NOT disappointed. Amazing preparation with great texture and flavors. The staff was courteous and very helpful. The only improvement I would have liked was a more extensive dessert menu, but in the end, I was so full from the food I didn't miss not adding additional calories!
Before ordering we were told that they do not have the 8oz filet that was on the menu and only had 6oz for $45 instead of 8oz for $52. When I got my bill 6oz was charged at $48. Other than that was good experience.
Service & food were top notch as you would believe from such a fine restaurant. Although a small menu the choices were good and the expression along with the attention to detail every course received was exceptional. A wonderful holiday dining experience & well worth the drive

Creative cuisine! We had a wonderful dinner there after viewing the Christmas lights. The food was very creative and tasted excellent. The cheesecake dessert is not to be missed - its name is somewhat misleading. Lauren, our sever,gave us great advice on what to order.

This was our first visit to Nemacolin Resort, 50th birthday for her. The hotel was wonderful, the dinner at Aqueous was amazing, scallpos for her and sea bass for me. Both dishes were absolutely delicious with superb presentation. She said that this was exactly the way she wanted to spend her birthday.
Seafood was delicious, also the filets were tender & made the way we ordered them. Had a wonderful server & service.
Excellent Thanksgiving evening! Only one of us ordered the traditional “turkey” meal, and the chef did an EXCELLENT job elevating feel good flavors to the next level. All of our meals were perfect, and service was hands down superb. Kudos to everyone for making our Thanksgiving so special.
Mediocre food, priced for the resort. Service doesn’t come close to what you’d expect for the price. Very small portions - and I’m not one to complain about that. Plus dessert (coffee cake) was stale. In general you don’t come here for the food.

Birthday, amazing meal and service.
The service was wonderful- and when my husband mentioned we were going to split the meals (because they were both described so well), the server had the kitchen split our meals so we had our own share. Each taste was delicious- nice wine recommendation as well! No rushing us- and server checked back just the right amount of times! I value meals I won’t usually make at home- achieved!!! Great date!!
