Kingston's choice for waterfront dining, AquaTerra offers picturesque waterfront views and a menu that focuses on the freshest, and whenever possible, locally sourced ingredients. Mentioned in "Where to Eat in Canada" for over a decade and recommended by HuffPost Canada Living, AquaTerra offers Sunday Brunch, an extensive wine list and private and semi-private dining options for groups large and small. Take a seat at the Lobby Bar or in The Vu lounge and enjoy a drink, small plate and live entertainment (select days) before or after your meal.
After reading so many great reviews we had high hopes but we were disappointed, the food was nothing special and quite expensive for what it is. I would recommend eating at a medium range restaurant over this place. The service was great. We have eaten at many amazing restaurants internationally so I think we had very high expectations, and they were not met.
We had a lovely meal which we shared. Service was excellent. We shared our appetizers and entree with only water and the bill was $100. Entree was pricey but delicious. Had a really nice time.
Food from the brunch menu was just ok. We had made a reservation but waited quite a few minutes before someone came to seat us. We were quite disappointed in the overall service which seemed disorganized, and the lukewarm coffee, having to send 2 carafes back before finally getting some hot coffee and then having to repeatedly ask for cream as they had only provided a tiny jug (3 oz maybe?) of cream for 4 people drinking coffee. We also had to ask for sugar as there was none served with the coffee. Servers could perhaps ask how customers prefer their eggs (soft or hard), since they were only serving breakfast or brunch at that time. Sadly, the poor service took away from the overall experience.
Great please highly recommend
Cam at the bar was so lovely. Very friendly. Introduced himself. Asked our names. Met me later in the evening remembered my name and asked how I was enjoying my dinner. We had cocktails and they were delicious.
Our server for dinner was Chantelle.
Very personable young lady. Both Chantal and cam an asset to the establishment.
We both had the beef tartare which was amazing . Presentation was unbelievable the bone marrow brought it to an another dimension.
We both had the duck breast and it was served superb medium rare.
Cannot wait to return just a long drive from Brockville.
Inspired dishes, many of them drawing upon quality ingredients from the region, defined this remarkable 4-course meal. Part of the Delta’s 2018-2019 Wine & Dinner Series, this evening drew upon the considerable talents of chef Brent McAllister and his team along with superb wines from Rosehall Run Winery’s winemaker Dan Sullivan. The serving staff are well informed and very attentive to customers’ needs. We look forward to future evenings at AquaTerra.
Delicious food, lovely presentation, lovely views.
We met friends for brunch. The experience was excellent. The service was friendly, prompt and unintrusive (Karen). We needed a quiet place and were given a lovely table by the window. We needed extra time and we were allowed to stay, offered extra coffee and water.
It was a very good experience.
This was our third time there for supper. Once again it exceeded our expectations. Between service, quality of the food and the overall atmosphere, it has become our dependable go-to place. We have already made reservations with them again before leaving last time.
Fantastic experience! Delicious food, excellent service and beautiful location. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a great high-end dining experience.
Our second visit this winter to AquaTerra. Food was very slow but was good when it did show up. Steak was tasty but over cooked. It just wasn’t the kitchens day. Ami the Manager was more than apologetic. We will go back because our first visit was great.
I booked AquaTerra for breakfast with my daughter while I was in town visiting and chose it primarily for the nice view. The entire experience was very good - exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious and the service was good. I would definitely come back....hopefully soon!
Amazing food was awesome the waiter was amazing helpful
We arrived early after the symphony concert at 500pm and found the noise level was low despite getting busy. The Ontario lamb rack was excellent with the surprise of Saskatoon berries a nice complimentary flavour. My husband had the beef tenderloin which was also excellent. Our server was very attentive even when it became busy. It was a lovely relaxing meal. It’s our favourite place for a celebritory meal.
Excellent food, lovely venue and the server knew the exact pace for a leisurely Friday afternoon lunch.
Our server was very nice and made sure my boyfriends birthday celebration was taken care of. Thank you also to the pastry chef who made our Tiramisu cake. He absolutely loved it !! Thank you to everyone who made our stay sooo pleasant. We will definitely return in the summer months.

Feb 16 2019 was our second valentine’s day dinner at Aqua Terra. Last year we came from Ottawa for a romantic dinner and weekend. We dined at Aqua Terra and everything was fantastic. We decided to return again this year. Unfortunately there were large gaps in time between appetizer and meal. My wife’s sablefish was excellent but my $45 ribeye was lukewarm and unevenly cooked. We guessed it had been sitting waiting for my wife’s fish to be done. It was disappointing but I am recommending based on last year’s experience. I think next year we’ll go somewhere else though.
This is by far my favourite restaurant. Every staff member is pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable, and the food is absolutely amazing. It is presented well, at the right temperature and everything is perfectly matched. The place is always spotless and stunning. Whenever I'm asked where I want to go for dinner the answer is always Aqua Terra.
Excellent food and service. The chef's taste sampler at the start was a nice touch.
We've been dining at Aquaterra for almost a dozen years and are usually very pleased with our experience. I think it may have dipped for a while after Clark Day left, but the last few dining experiences have been very enjoyable. The Valentines day menu was wonderful and our server April was on her game. The only disappointment was our seating location, in the back, in a corner. I had requested a window seat when I made the reservation a month previously, but perhaps everyone preceded me by a day. Overall for us, one of the best dining experiences in Kingston.
Fantastic dining experience! Everything was perfect and the best part was just heading back to our hotel room right after!
Food was well plated, including fresh micro greens garnishes, and was perfectly proportioned. All 5 of us ordered different dishes and agreed that all were tasty and met our expectations for careful, quality food preparation. The focaccia and herb butter however were a highlight! Soaking up some of the sauces from our various dishes with this delicious bread was sublime!
Food and service always amazing and they are more than happy to adjust for any special dietary needs.
Marco is amazing! We’ve had him as a server for our anniversary for quite a few years in a row. He goes above and beyond to make our experience one to remember. Always trust his wine pairings! And of course we’re still raving about our food, days later.
Can’t wait to go back!
In Kingston this is definitely one of the better restaurants
very good food and service
perhaps reflective of a hotel restaurant the price point is probably a little ahead of itselt
It’s always great! Food excellent and servers great. Outside bar is awesome too. Fauvorite server at bar is Sean.
Enjoyable ambiance with water views from many tables. Food was excellent, but service was a little slow (although the restaraunt was very full). Wine list was adequate and not too pricey.
We just mentioned it was an aniversary and received a very nice desert.
This is the best meal I have ever had in the Kingston area and I go out for dinner often! The quality is evident in every single dish. The seafood pasta was wonderful, not exactly what I expected it would be — it was even better! The curry shrimp app was very tasty as was dessert. Great service, beautiful view of the water. Highly recommend!
Food was excellent, well prepared with a large and enjoyable variety of food tastes
Amazing New Year's Eve dinner. A great way to celebrate an engagement with my new fiance. And exceptional service by Chantelle.
We had New Year's eve dinner and were pleased with the first few courses.
But then came the main courses and my fish was badly overcooked and ergo dry meat.
My wife's lamb was not to her liking inasmuch as she loves lamb and has eaten it many times elsewhere
and never had any complaints.
We told the waiter and although he acknowledged our complaint he did not show any understanding
nor did he give any indication that he would try and speak to the management about it.
Since it was our special evening neither did we.
Upon arriving in Toronto next day, having felt queasy all night and during our drive home we became ill and inspite of it being now more than 24 hours afterwards we still only feel marginally better after having
We believe the combination and quality of food selection was most likely to blame and, as an aside, to serve the chocolate calorie bomb at the end of such a meal was more than an imposition and totally incompatible.
We only tasted a little of it and left it alone for obvious reasons.
We expect at least an apology and or some form of compensation.
Great food and great menu. Really enjoyable evening. Went for NYE.
A very enjoyable experience overall. We were seated promptly and the meal served in a non hurried fashion. Food was excellent, service very attentive in comfortable surroundings.
The service, food and atmosphere was incredible.
Gluten free options with a kitchen that appreciates what that means. Rare in a lot of restaurants. By far my favourite restaurant in Kingston.
We have had much better meals at Aquaterra before this. My cocktail was not what I ordered and the chowder was delicious but so salty, I almost couldn't eat it.
Great food & fantastic service!
We went with our 95 year old mother for Christmas dinner it was very pleasant. Excellent and plentiful food. Rose was a delightful server.
An all over great experience - thank you!
Very good food and fantastic service. Picture perfect views over the water. A great place for Christmas morning brunch. Would definitely return.
Wonderful place for dinner. Food and service are outstanding. Highly recommend. We went for our wedding anniversary. Excellent choice, we will definitely be going back.
