Aquarium Restaurant - Downtown Denver Ratings and Reviews
Misleading photos about the dishes. What was actually served (grilled seafood platter) was very poor and overpriced for the amount of seafood served. So, don't go by the pictures.
Speakers are installed over 40 feet high on the ceiling, and as the result, the sound from them were more annoying noise than music. Extremely poor sound quality.
The atmosphere was interesting, and te service was efficient and friendly.
Food and carpet in restaurant is disgusting. Bathroom sink overflowing as I washed my hands. We made a reservation for my daughters 4th Birthday to see the mermaids. Nobody could tell us when they would swim or be there and sure enough the swam by our table right after are waitress said they would be somewhere else...so my daughter totally missed it!!! So frustrating, never saw them! She cried and cried! So disappointing!
Food was excellent but the portions are enough to feed 2-3 people. Next time I will split a lunch or dinner with someone. Although the food was really good, the prices are way too high. I had a Caesar salad, my friend had a chicken wrap, and we both had one glass of wine. The bill was over fifty bucks. Nevertheless, it was fun, and our table was right in front of one of the aquariums. We saw a mermaid while eating! Fun.
Food was okay. Not awesome but not bad either. Pretty expensive for what you get. $170 for seven diners (a couple of us shared, two small children and no alcohol). Tour of the Aquarium is extra even for diners. At the prices for drinks, food etc. they should extend the tour of the Aquarium as complementary.
We have been going to the aquarium for years now to dine for special occasions. The food is great, the service very good and the atmosphere is very fun! Major kudos for their care and concern when it comes to preparing a gluten free option for one of my kiddos with celiac.
Overall we had a good visit. Our server was a bit slow getting to us and we were served our meals with no cutlery or napkins so had to request them in order to eat. We enjoyed our view of the aquarium table side and will plan to reserve during the mermaid show next time.
We used to love going to the aquarium with the kids. The mermaid show was a huge draw and the fish were almost distracting enough that my wife and I could have a real conversation over dinner. But recent schedule changes in the mermaid show made us wait an hour after eating for the 7:30 mermaids. Well that just sucks... Why such a huge gap of 2.5 hours between shows? I guess now we have to call ahead to make sure we schedule our dining over the show, which is just a little inconvenient. Couldn't you just do one mermaid longer and switch them off? Plus with no weekday shows. As always the food is okay, but nothing special. Though the burger was really good since I decided to go for something more familiar this time. That will probably become my safe bet there instead of all the fried fish.
I decided to go there for my son's birthday I asked if they could sing a happy birthday song for him and they told me "sorry but we don't do that here" really??? I'm so disappointed drove over a 100 miles from home for a special occasion and they couldn't even do something about it... worst experience ever!!!
It would be nice to know that the mermaids are only viewable in certain parts of the restaurant. To go with that it would be nice to have an option on seating when booking reservation. People stand up to watch the mermaids and block the view even more. Only worth it in a few select seat up against the glass. The food is eehh nothing special could actually be better quality for the cost. Service was ok but could have been better.
We had decent service but for as pricey as it is I would have expected the food to be better. My husband and I both got the shrimp platter and it wasn’t hardly edible. The grilled shrimp and rice were good but the bacon wrapped shrimp were terrible tasting. They even somehow managed to screw up the fried shrimp. Veggies were cold and the beans didn’t exactly go with the theme of the meal. My sons dinner came out on a cafeteria tray and his shrimp was soggy and cold. Paying $25+ for each adult entree I would’ve expected it to knock my socks off. Honestly we would’ve rather had Red Lobster. This restaurant is for the experience ONLY. We definitely won’t dine here again. The food is definitely not worth the money! So disappointing.
My family ( daughter, her husband and 5 kids, ages 2-12, my son and his girlfriend ) ate in the restaurant after having wandered through the aquarium for a couple of hours ...... it was my son's 45 birthday and we wanted to do something that was special and fun.... accomplished both! What a great place....
the food overall was stale and bland, the waiter wasn’t very attentive and showed no since of urgency or exceptional customer service towards my dining experience . My children and I really enjoyed the aquarium but the likeliness of us reserving a seat at the restaurant is very slim.
This was my wife and I first time visiting this restaurant. We were in town from Chicago. The food was good and the service was nice. They even gave us a military discount. There's a gift shop where we bought a couple things. We set directly in front of the Aquarium. The fish were beautiful!
This place was beyond amazing! The food was fantastic! I ordered the catch of the day which was trout fish with a side of rice mixed with crawfish, shrimps and Scallops. The seasoning and special sauce they put in the plate was so good! The service was also great. Her waitress was very attentive. I will definitely come back here!
