Aquaknox Ratings and Reviews
My father and I share a birthday and we celebrated at Aquaknox! It was perfect. From the hostess to our server and table staff, to the chef who brought us some extra delectable goodies from the kitchen! The service and the food was superb and the drinks were crafted to perfection! Would highly recommend if you are in Las Vegas! Bravo!
Service was notably slow, from getting drinks and throughout. Multiple people in my party said something at one time or another about it. However, the service was helpful when they were around. The wine list was large, but offered few selections under $100 a bottle. Steaks were tasty, as were the scallops I had, however the portion size of 3 medium-sized scallops was meager. Desserts were excellent.
Aquaknox never disappoints. The service, the food and the wine are always above par. This year we stayed on the light side with oysters,; the trio, of lobster, shrimp and crab; king crab leg and grilled octopus. All were super fresh. Fresher than I can have anywhere else. Only disappointment was the octopus that was a little chewy. The wine was fabulous. Name is insignificant as wine list is extensive and has a price range to fit any budget. We chose for dessert the taro cheese cake was out of this world. The sorbet was original and tasty. Service as usual was fabulous. What a restaurant! Never crowded. Wonder why. Thanks guys!
For the price one pays for the food at this location, it should taste better. I ordered the "Bone in Rib-eye" and the brown source that comes with it was very salty, almost uneatable. The bread pudding was very sweet, and then to add melted marshmallows on top, made it even more sweeter. I went there for my Anniversary, and was very disappointed.
Aquaknox was a bit of a letdown for me. I was expecting them to be known for seafood, however when the waiter read us the specials for the day, none of it was seafood unless it was surf n turf. The specials consisted only of steak. Sure enough, I thought it was odd and ordered the halibut with lobster corn succotash. The succotash was good and very flavorful. The halibut was dry and bland. My significant other ordered the scallop entree and it felt more like an appetizer than an entree.
On another note, the lobster bisque is very memorable. Would highly recommend.
I was celebrating my 40th birthday. The food was excellent. I initially wanted just oysters. We ended up sharing appetizers and an entree and the chef gave us separate plates and they both were beautifully plated. I thought that was a special touch rather than having us separate the meal ourselves.
Had a Mother & son(17) weekend in Vega$. Thought a fancy dinner was in order after a day of shopping.Wanted Seafood , found Aquaknox online. It was superb!!! Service was excellent, food to outstanding...company and conversation was the BEST. Cant wait to come back with my husband
As some other reviewers mentioned, the service was hurried. The waiters were pleasant but we were left with the impression that they wanted you in and out as quickly as possible. We even stated we weren’t in a hurry. We had allowed over 2 hours for dinner before our show and we were done in 45 minutes. For the amount of money spent we did not feel the food or the experience was worth it.
Steamed clams were exceptional. Maine Lobster and Lobster bisque was very good. The octopus appetizer was great. The poke appetizer was not good. Fish was poor quality. Tables are very close together. The server pouring water had trouble getting in between. Our waiter was a bit unprofessional. Tried to be buddies with the guys on our table. Forgot the spoon for the lobster bisque. When we asked for the spoon, he joked that he should have just slurped from the bowl. Ambiance is terrible. Feels like eating in a mall with everyone walking by since there is no wall separating the restaurant from the shoppers.
When I saw the menu on open table, it looked like it had a nice selection and it looked like a nice restaurant. While the food was tasty, I was amazed at the size of the portion I received. I ordered the branzino, which was a whole fish. I have had this at may other restaurants, so when I say, this fish was less than 1/2 the size of any other fish I ever ordered, it's being compared to at least 10 other high end restaurants. The cost for the fish and an average portion of mixed vegetable was $47. My estimate for the cost to plate my meal was $6. While the wait staff was friendly and attentive, the restaurant should be ashamed to charge what they did for that meal.
Food and experience was terrific, other than our table was up against a beam and the waiter made a big deal out of making separate checks for our party. A bit of sticker shock when the bill came. Appetizer and daily special were way more expensive than we expected. No pricing was explained when the waiter mentioned the specials and they aren't on the menu.
We have loved this restaurant for years- food consistently good. Only complaint is that halibut was overlooked and therefore a little tough. Otherwise our meal was outstanding. The highlight however was the fish soup- the flavors were absolutely amazing . Would order this dish again and again.
We dined at Aquaknox to celebrate my wife's birthday. We love seafood and Aquaknox did not disappoint us. The menu included selections that should meet the tastes of non seafood lovers as well, but all the items we ordered were prepared very well. They also offer a very good wine / cocktail list and the service team was fantastic. It is very spacious dining room with modern / chic decor. The menu prices are probably beyond what a budget conscious person would expect to spend, but it is very much worth a splurge if you are willing to stretch a bit for a high quality fine dining experience.
