Aquaknox Ratings and Reviews
Aquaknox was a nice experience. We arrived early after a long day and the staff was attentive, food was hot and fresh and we enjoyed our night. It was not, "WOW!" as some Vegas restaurants tend to be. It was a nice dinner and typically Vegas overpriced for what you get.
Overall, nothing special. Food was serviceable, but there there were too many missteps in a place that was only 20% full to give the more than 3 stars. 'Theme' and ambiance were great. The small romantic booths are definitely the place to sit. Bread service (amuse bouche) was grissini and portion of smoked salmon 'dip,' but no bread. We really liked our halloumi and watermelon salad/appetizer and our entrees were also quite nice (halibut/scallops). 6.50 for a double espresso...seriously? If I known I'd have bought another martini or after dinner drink. After we stopped the busser from filling our glasses sparkling water (the second time) with tap water, our server brought another bottle of sparkling water we didnt order... Grade B-
We ate here our first night in Vegas. It was decent but nothing special. For the price, service and choice of entrees, I would not go back. We ate at the Capital Grille for 3 hours doing the wine pour menu for the exact same price. The next night was at Lakeside at the Wynn with an amazing view and spent the same amount of money. My father had the fish soup which was the most creative entree on the menu and good. I opted for the whole fish which was literally a whole fish with little imagination. I thought they could have done more. We celebrated my parents 42nd anniversary and they didn't offer a dessert, cup of coffee or glass of champagne. We were disapointed
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted warmly and taken to a very nice booth, somewhat private and definitely removed from the hustle bustle. Our waiter and assistant were both very friendly and very attentive. Their suggestions were "right on". We had the chilled seafood platter (which could have been the entire meal). Everything was excellent and it was a memorable anniversary.
I enjoyed the food and service as usual, however we were sat in a dark booth with no lighting. The waiter lied to us and told us all the booths were not lit, but i know that not to be true because i've been coming to this restaurant for years regularly. It was a first for my new boyfriend, and he hated the darkness of the booth but loved the food.
Party of 4, we all had seafood. It was sublime! Two had scallops and said it was best scallop dish ever eaten. I had yellowtail tuna with unusual Mediterranean flavors (normally Asian) and loved every bite. It was my favorite tuna dish I've ever had. We stumbled upon this restaurant, not having heard of it before, and felt gratified with our find. The atmosphere could be improved by separating the dining room more from the mall area of Venetian. It feels a little like an airport restaurant that way but should feel as special as the food creation is! The service was a bit awkward but generally positive. Mix-up with our wine order felt like a scam to pressure us into ordering a more expensive Pinot Grigio, but probably was innocent.
If you are in Vegas and are looking for an exceptional dining experience you need to come to Aquaknox! The restaurant is beautiful, the service is top-notch, and the food is incredible. A must-have for starters is the Aquaknox Plateau, the seared yellowfin tuna and the surf and turf. I will definitely go back to this restaurant.
We made a reservation for a party of 5 it was a fathers day dinner for us and our waiter was great he explained all the menu items for us as well as our wine choice for the night the food was great everyone really enjoyed it all we had Surf and Turf,Pan seared Halibut, the Crab Stuffed Lobster, and the Pan Seared John Dory with the Lobster Succotash awesome,we Enjoyed All entrees we had the cold Seafood Platter as an App plus the Crab Cakes, and Lobster Bisque It was an awesome Dinning experience Chef Tom come out to the table and greeted us when we arrived and sent out some deserts at the end of the night great place I recommend it to anyone visiting Vegas
Small portions and large prices and few menu choices.
Seafood was ordinary compared to restaurants at home (San Fansisco) yet much more expensive. For a fine dining restaurant, people show up in thongs and tank tops. This lack of dress code and location on a busy corridor makes the claim of "fine dining" a stretch.
Next time I will skip this one and try something else.
The yellowfin tuna crudo appetizer comes with two preparations - the tartar was pleasingly spicy and the sashimi cuts were complimented by a more mellow olive tapendade. The tartar had more taste than the sashimi, but both were very good. The crab cake appetizer was excellent as well. The cakes were full of meat, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. For an entree, I highly recommend trying the New Zealand John Dory. It is a firm, meaty white fish that was prepared with a lobster succotash and sweet corn giving it a nice sweet flavor. I also recommend the scallops - these had a pinkish/orange color and were served ontop of the applewood smoked bacon polenta - they melted in your mouth. Only negative - service.
This was my first time at this spot. What I read about the restaurant beforehand was much better than the reality. My fiance and I were well dressed and eager for some exquisite fish. Our excitement was immediately chilled by having to wait at the hostess table for what seemed like a very long time. the restaurant was practically EMPTY. Finally, a hostess walked us to through the restaurant only to find that the table she wanted to seat us at was occupied. Guess what happened next: we walked back to the hostess table for more waiting. By this time, I was so frustrated that we went to the bar and ordered oysters which were good. there are so many good places to eat in Vegas. Pass on this one.
Great food, great service, and wonderful ambiance. My wife absolutely loved this place and this was our final night in Vegas after having dined at excellent restaurants such as Wolfgang Puck's CUT, Gordon Ramsay's Steak, and the Top of the World. My wife had the 2-lb stuffed lobster and I had a surf n turf special (1/2 stuffed lobster with filet).
We went to this restaurant as our special occasion meal and it was amazing. The fish was by far the best I have ever had. The servers were very helpful and not pretentious. We felt so comfortable asking questions about the food if we didn't know what it was (a lot of upscale restaurants make you feel "dumb").
