   Overall our experience was lovely. We sat in the garden, a relaxed beautiful spot to spend an hour or two. Our service was excellent. Unfortunately, the food was a little uneven. The caesar salad was delicious - fresh, crunchy, and lemony. The lamb was excellent, but the mussels were undercooked and runny. I've never actually experienced this before. The olive oil cake was a solid meal ender. It was a good meal, but felt a bit overpriced for what we received. Also, strangely, OpenTable said the only reservation available was for 6pm, which we took. However the restaurant was basically empty inside for the rest of the evening. Not sure what's going on with the app/mgmt, but hopefully the restaurant will figure it out soon.

   Apropos is a very lovely restaurant, the food is thoughtfully prepared and delicious, and the service is attentive. We have dined here several times and the menu needs to be varied more often and more non-meat dishes offered. This restaurant is affiliated with a spa and spa customers often stay for a weekend and eat at the restaurant. Including more vegetarian or seafood options on the menu would be appreciated or having a separate “spa menu” with only lighter fare.

   The drinks took awhile to come, which is understandable. The ones presented to us were not good. We ordered to of the same drinks and they tasted completely different. The menu online is not the one you see once you’re sitting down. No specials were available either which is odd for this type of restaurant. The main entree wasn’t terrible but I ordered a steak medium and it was very rare and the piece was very gamey. Not ideal for the price. The noise level was fine but the table behind us was filled with entitled “Karens” that were so rude and loud about it, that it started to ruin our evening. This also was a special occasion dinner which I listed while making the reservation and they didn’t do anything for it. They congratulated my family but didn’t offer a free dessert or a free cocktail. Nothing. Service was polite and understandable but overall this is not worth the hype.

   We were given a gift certificate to Apropos for our anniversary. The outside atmosphere was so pretty and tranquil with beautiful Hudson views. The food was not to be believed. Everything we ordered was outstanding. Highly recommend the polenta and the muscles with the frites. Not to be believed ! The restaurant will promises to deliver a great experience!

   My food - Shrimp and polenta was very good, but my friend's meal - Eggs Benedict - was meh. The eggs were overcooked and the toast was not toasted. The staff was very attentive and the view is marvelous.

    The menu and food looks great and is plated very nicely. Unfortunately, we found that the majority of dishes lacked something in execution. Either they were under seasoned or just lacked flavor. Between 4 of us we ordered half the menu so we experienced a lot of it. For example, the flatbread seemed to use commercial pita/naan bread for the base and was flavorless. The noodle gratin that accompanies the pork chop was bland and was just cream and cheese with no richness, seasoning or flavor. The chocolate cake was bland and dry. The steak and pork chop were cooked very nicely and the pastas were too. But even the pastas were underwhelming from a flavor perspective. Also, many items on the menu were either incorrectly described or not fully described. For example, the fusilli pasta dish wasn’t actually fusilli. It was a completely different shape & texture. The olive oil cake came with ice cream but that wasn’t mentioned on the menu. Small things, but noticeable since we were counting on the description since it influenced our orders. Maybe they are used to a dining crowd who doesn’t notice or care about these things but it led to some disappointment from us since we were excited about the menu and had some good meals here in the past. Lastly, the service was friendly but a bit sloppy and casual for a place with such high prices. We would have expected a bit more polish and follow through. We had to ask for several things numerous times (utensils, drinks, dishes to be packed for later, etc). We know it’s a tough market and being a server is difficult so we want to be fair but thought it important to point out.

    Disappointed by this visit to the restaurant at the Abbey Inn for a birthday brunch. Food was overcooked/cold, service very slow. We had to flag down our server a couple of times, not easy to find.

    Serving staff seemed unmanaged and while all were very pleasant they seemed to be overwhelmed in a not crowded restaurant. A shame because I came here wanting to book a family celebration and now I'm having second thoughts.

    This place is a pretender. They are pretending to be a high end restaurant and aren’t even close. The service was cortious but lacking in the confidence one would expect at their price points. Cronchy duck was not crunchy, warm or easy to chew. My wife’s pasta was undercooked. If you want fine dining don’t eat here.

    Outstanding. The hostess was friendly, accommodating, and helpful. She made us feel like we were visiting family. The food was top notch. The place and surrounding area itself makes you feel like you are in another country. A treat local treat... looking forward to going again soon.

    Service and Ambiance were excellent. Food was just ok. The mussels and yuca frites were the highlight. The Arctic char was cooked perfectly but the accompanying sauce didn’t really complement it. The Bone Marrow and Escargot was pretty bland. Come here for the views and the service but lower expectations on food

    We do love this restaurant - however, the Open Table website said it was participating in the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week - which it was NOT. So great review for Apropos, not so great for Open Table.

    If you have to eat here it is fine. But there was not a large crowd on a Thursday night and the service was distant. A young staff are certainly learning so I would blame the manager for not teaching the to prioritize seated diners over their other kitchen duties. Clearly the wait staff was also doing dishes and plating. The view at night was often replaced by the high beams of cars making the turn in front of the windows, and the table setting were lackluster.

    Impeccable service.. dont recall the servers name but she was lovely! Food was amazing ...fresh,clean,well thought out and the presentation on point. The setting ,views and ambiance were gorgeous. All the staff encouraged us to walk around and even showed us one of the rooms and a told us about spa services. i loved it!

    We had been curious about the Abbey on the Hill for years not knowing that it had been renovated and turned into a hotel and restaurant. Great addition to the community. Food was delicious and service was very nice. Views are incomparable!
