   Something was really off with our dining experience here. Been here in past and it was exceptional, tonight, we brought friends from Florida for a celebratory dinner and the service and food was across the board fair at best. 3 out of 5 entrees had to be sent back inedible. One other entree had a dark coarse hair in it and it was the nights special addition. Waitstaff was obviously in the weeds. Management was very apologetic and did the right things for us bill wise. But a huge embarrassment for us taking friends out for an engagement and birthday dinner in what was supposed to be a very special dinner. Not sure if we will go back.

   We love Apropos! Such a beautiful property and the meal and service is always very good. We were there for dinner as well as to attend the Derby Event. It was a little confusing upon arrival, as the event and dinner didn’t seem to blend cohesively. I guess we assumed we would be dining in the same area as the event. It wasn’t clear if you could just attend the event without going for dinner but it seemed many folks were just attending the event. The special derby event cocktails were not really evident. I was anticipating a mint julip, or something more along the lines of the race theme. It didn’t seem that too much thought was put into the bar menu. The complimentary crudité and charcuterie were a nice touch and very tasty. The TV screen to view the race was a bit small so perhaps add another screen for the next event and maybe additional lower tables with chairs so everyone can see the TV screen. Perhaps for those wanting dinner and the event you can set up another location in the garden courtyard area weather permitting or add a screen to one of the dining rooms. Otherwise what a fun day and a great idea!

   Disappointing experience. Had a reservation for 7:30 and was not seated until 8:05. Hostess staff did not inform us it would be a long wait, instead, they made it up with a nice table overlooking the Hudson. Too bad because the sun had already set! We were also informed that they could sit us but it would be a wait until the server could come take our order. We decided to try this restaurant because of their restaurant week menu and specifically choose the restaurant week selection when booking on OpenTable, only to find out the menu wasn’t available on Saturdays. No mention on their website that it was not available on Saturdays. Ordered an Aperol Spritz and waiter came back to inform they were out of Aperol. Food was disappointing. Ordered the Bucattini with “clams, fresh herbs and charred lemon”. Pasta was served in a creamy sauce and cheese. Dairy and fish do not go well together. Overall service was fair once we were seated, however, will not be returning or recommending.

   The food is excellent at Apropos. The big disappointment was that I asked for a window table and received a call to verify that I would get one. Then when we got there, the only free window table was set for six people and we were told they had preference over us (three people). Those "six" people arrived when we were eating dessert and were actually four people. This started things off wrong, but the food and service made up for it. At times, it seemed like the staff was running around to meet everyone's needs. The time between courses was a bit long and I wondered if something was going on behind the scenes. I will return because the food is so good, but the staff shouldn't promise something they can't deliver.

   Last time I was at Apropos, they had run out of menu items and had draft beers that weren't working. Two years later there are still issues with draft beer not available and some menu items not available first seating for dinner. Sort of disappointed.

   Loved the Easter brunch menu. Everything was delicious. The chocolate/peanut butter egg in a nest was amazing and loved the presentation. Hoping some form of it can be worked into the regular menu. The peanut butter mousse filling was so light and the crunch from the nest and sponge layer upon which it sat made it even more delicious.

    Apropos is likely the only food establishment in Peekskill that we hadn’t been to, so my partner and I decided to give it a shot. The food was overpriced and of barely passable quality — my partner and I each got different pasta dishes that we found could have been assembled from local grocery store ingredients within 20 minutes. The portions were rather small, even for my partner, who generally eats less than than I do. The service was very poor — in spite of having a reservation, we were still asked to wait at the bar for 20 minutes; we then had long wait times (~30 mibutes) for our food and the server never refilled our water or came to check on us until we were ready to get the check. This place is fine, but I can think of several others I would have gone to instead.
