We wanted something quick and easy and this place was it. The hostess was short with us when we wanted to change our table to be away from a large and loud group, but she said they were leaving soon, so we moved over to a different table still nearby. She didn't seem happy to move us, but we there was plenty of open tables around that it didn't seem like an unreasonable request. The server was nice and very helpful, but when we were done our meal, he was nowhere to be seen, and we had to wait a little bit to get our bill or have him follow up on us. The food was okay, and I don't think we will be back. Good if you want something quick and basic.
Food was ok. Probably use lots of MSG as me and wife’s mouths are super dry and tongues have that post MSG metallic taste 2 hours after. Service was very robotic. Portions small for price. Kicker is that they charge $6 for parking so sucks for kamaaina...will not return
Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Mahalo for taking the time to post and give us a 5 star review! We hope to see you again very soon!
The crust of my husbands pizza was the best part of the meal. Their pizza sauce was thin and lacking flavor but let’s chat about the real problem which was service. Our server Luke, was probably the worst we have EVER had. I only learned his name off our bill because we barely saw him and when we did he made it known we were so inconvenient to be sitting where the hostess sat us. He was rude, ignored us and gave us dirty looks. Probably the least we have ever spent on a meal because we wanted to leave as soon as we sat down due to poor attitude. Once we paid we told the manager when he finally stopped by our table. When the manager asks the server name for a complaint and his expression is less than shocked then you know that Luke is a problem. Not sure how this restaurant is so highly rated. Skip their food and order pizza in if you want pizza.
Stopped in for some pizza and ordered a hummus plate appetizer, pizza and ahi tuna. Everything was delicious and the staff was super friendly and attentive. Made a last minute reservation and would definitely recommend reservations. People were waiting for tables by the time our meal was done. I would definitely be back if I’m in Waikiki again.
Mahalo for taking the time to post your review and for giving us 5 stars! We look forward to your return.
Pizza base soggy with minimal toppings
Great location and atmosphere. Food is good and so is the service. Will be going back again, soon
Service was very good
Pizza could have been done a little more, for my taste, also could have been hotter, otherwise very nice experience
Celebrated my wife’s birthday and dining with out of town guests.
We had a really enjoyable meal with great service.
Very disorganized! We had been to this restaurant two years ago and had a much different (better) experience. We had a waitress who said she was relatively new. She was quite lovely and I do not think our problems were necessarily her fault. The issue was it took a long time to get our drinks and they started bringing our food order. We accepted the salad but then they tried twice to bring our pizzas before our drinks arrived. I'm not sure what was going on so we did ask to speak to the manager. Two different people came to hear our story. Although they did apologize, no explanation or compensation was offered. A glass of wine or a dessert would have gone a long way to trying to turn our experience around. I have referred people to this restaurant in the past but am now reluctant to do so. I'm also not sure that I will return. Sad because the food is good and i really wanted to like this place.
Great food and Luke made the entire experience amazing. Was very thoughtful regarding food allergies to ensure a great night.
Very fast service and great pizza. Our waiter, Luke, was very friendly and made sure we were looked after and had everything we needed.
First and foremost the wait staff were poorly trained. We ordered one of their pizzas their prized meatballs and two glasses of wine. To our surprise the pizza came first then the meatballs and the wine lagged behind. We thought that the meatballs would come first as an appetizer but that wasn't the case. Upon taking a bite of the Meatballs it appeared as though there were deep fried which gave them an ugly texture. The pizza was a very ordinary neapolitan pizza that wasn't great. The table next to us ordered two appetizers and two entrees. Before they had a chance to take two bites out of their appetizer their entrees arrived. We saw a similar problem at another table. We have been coming to Waikiki for many years and have eaten at many restaurants and this was by far the worst. If you're looking for Italian food stay away from this place.
Fresh ingredients for the pizza. Tasty
Hanger steak very flavourful . Everything portioned well.
The pizza special was delicious and looked amazing with the edible flowers. The mushroom fries, wow I want more. The crab pasta was ok. The chocolate Nutella was a little disappointing. It was like the warm flourless chocolate cakes. No taste of Nutella. But presentation of all the dishes were really well done.
Celebrated a birthday at Appetito. It was our first time, so we did not know what to expect. Ambience was nice with just the right amount of lighting and it was fairly busy in the restaurant. Server was attentive in the beginning but may have been overwhelmed with other customers as he did not revisit our table again for more than 15 min after our initial food was delivered. We did not have the opportunity to ask about a missing item or order additional food from the same server — we had to ask someone else after waiting for 15 min. Also, our server did not seem to acknowledge that we were celebrating a birthday until it was time to order a dessert and we made it a point to mention it. Perhaps he was not informed by reservations/receptionist? Overall, it was good food, save for the pizza which had runny/watery tomato sauce on it which ended up making the pizza really soggy. Such a shame because I could tell the pizza dough was really nice from the crust (which did not get soaked). Also, the interior of the restaurant was well-done, with a nice white ceiling, but the ceiling in a had visible mold-like stain/substance at an air vent which detracted from the new feel of the restaurant. The bathroom was clean and the staff at the entrance very friendly and accommodating.
Would dine here again.
To start the year off was to go here. It's my place to go when I decide to go out. To closed out the old year 2019 last Dec was almost every week. Tip for first time dinners come in during Happy hour 3-6 PM or after 8PM to get the feel of the place. I see a lot of "impatience dinners" everytime we dine here. Just enjoy and relax the food will come to you. Sorry when we dine it's a bottle for drink, fried mushroom, king Kong, meatballs, pizza, then bolognese for the wife, and then for me always change up every visit. Christmas Eve was prime rib. Oh with valentine's day coming up reserve now, they will offer a set course meal with wine to match, can't wait.
All of our food was great. This place was a good wine selection as well. I would not hesitate coming again.
Was so disappointed they removed the lasagna from their menu. It was one of the best items on there roughly a year ago. Their Bolognese pasta was quite excellent though.
I’m sure the 20 oz prime rib was excellent for $58 (if you like your cut of meat to be 40% fat!) (Sorry, but bad choice).
All in all, we had a good time though.
Highly recommend the Fettuccine Granchio...topped off with a crab claw. Also absolutely loved the Nutella cake with gelato.
I loved the corner location. I loved the airiness about the place. The food was great. I cant wait to come back in February.
Terrible service. Server argued with us about how much pizza to order then one of the pizzas came out later when we were finished. Then argued more about if we had enough food. Won’t be back.
Good food but very small portions
Great find on OpenTable for a last minute reservation!
The service was good and the food was excellent !
The pizzas have a nice chewy crust. There is an interesting variety to choose from and toppings were very fresh. The wine is outrageously overpriced which was a disappointment. I understand Waikiki is expensive but this was out of line with area restaurants. So if you don’t drink and want a nice pizza, then this is your place.
We ate Pizza and pasta as the carbo loading at the night before the full marathon. Margerita pizza was so good. Kale green salad was also very good. Tasted so nice with red wine. Very friendly service. I have already recommended a friend to be there while in Waikiki.
I’m sure I will come back.
