À propos de ce restaurant

When we created Appartement 26, Vogue labelled it as” “Petit Palais” and the “Most Beautiful Rooms & Private events spaces in Melbourne.” It was initially created to house Anton Venoir’s private collection of 18th century fine French antiques and museum pieces and used by high end photographers whose works are splashed all over glossy front covers of magazines.

We have opened our doors for our clients and guests to experience a piece a Paris. Hosting a series of bespoke events and private dining experiences around French decorative arts, food and wine.

Dine under candlelight as your taste buds voyage through a traditional French festive menu, perfectly paired with wine—a truly unmissable experience. Located at 321 Chapel Street, Appartement 26 is an opulent Parisian salon nestled in the heart of Melbourne’s design and fashion precinct. Nothing prepares you for what lies behind the unassuming industrial door marked “26.” Inside awaits the extraordinary world of Anton Venoir Interiors—a private salon where guests are immersed in elegance, history, and curated luxury. The effect is breathtaking: perfectly preserved pieces, lost in time and thoughtfully arranged by Tony Venios. Among them, a museum-documented 17th-century Royal Aubusson tapestry from France, The Banquet of Dido and Aeneas by Isaac Moillon (1614–1673), bearing the royal mark “A Fleurs de Lys B”—commissioned under Louis XIV. Beneath it rests an 18th-century Louis XV salon suite by Jean-Baptiste Gourdin, Maître in 1747, who famously crafted chairs for Marie Antoinette. Also featured is an early Louis XV commode by Francoise Faizelot and Jean-Louis Faizelot Delorme, from a French château in the Loire Valley. Completing the scene is an exceptional Regence period bracket clock with ormolu mounts and Boulle marquetry, signed Jean Godde Laisné, circa 1715. Godde Laisné (1690–1729), master clockmaker to Louis XIV, was received as maître horloger in 1691.
