Was the perfect location for dinner on a fall evening. Unique dining experience, delicious food, and excellent service.
Friday date night at one of our favorite restaurants. You cannot beat this ambiance anywhere else in Des Moines. David was our server and he was phenomenal. We absolutely loved him!! He made a place we love even better! Thank you!
Aposto never disappoints. The service, food and ambience whether sitting inside or heated patio, I always leave there wanting to come back. I would lick my plate if it was socially acceptable. That is how good it is, every time!
Awesome staff awesome conversation
Top notch experience from start to finish, warm environment, friendly staff, unreal food.
We reserved outdoor and there is a sign limiting reservation times. But it was not uoheld for us. The outdoor table was allowed to stay and we had to eat indoors. It was great service and amazing food- but I have to admit I was frustrated and disappointed.
We came here to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. We had high hopes and heard great things. The service was great and the atmosphere was great as well. My husband and I split the pizza offered for starter. The flavor was very bland. We both ordered the New York Strip and it came out looking like a petite filet. There was no Gorgonzola cheese on the steak as mentioned on the menu. Each steak was $37 and it was tiny and lacked flavor. All in all for an appetizer, 2 beers, a cup of coffee and 2 steaks was $108. We were in and out in under an hour. We won’t be back. We are very disappointed especially since we heard such wonderful things
Want top-notch food, drinks and service with no pretentious BS. Go here.
We had amazing food and service at the outdoor tables on the lawn this weekend. The setting was charming and elegant. I've had many delightful dining experiences with this restaurant in the past, but they have really outdone themselves in the pandemic and took it to the next level of excellence.
A great Italian spot in DSM! Beautiful venue, great service, and incredible food!!
We had excellent service.. excellent food and an overall excellent experience.. our waiter made our visit exceptional
Outstanding experience! The food, service and atmosphere here never disappoints. Their Caesar salad is one of the best I've ever tasted. The chicken piccata with chive risotto was magical. The chicken was deliciously crispy, with the perfect amount of lemon and capers, and the creaminess of the risotto complemented the chicken perfectly.
We were able to reserve a table on the porch, and they were all placed at a distance from others, so felt very safe during the pandemic, and all of the staff wore masks, as did most customers as they passed by.
There were many patio heaters available for cooler weather days. We happened to have nice weather on our visit, but plan to return again soon knowing the heaters are available to extend the season with outdoor dining.
As always our dining experience at Aposto was awesome. We enjoyed porch dining and our food was delicious. Service was top notch. We always enjoy our evenings at Aposto.
We always love the food, ambiance, and service at Aposto. While the menu is limited (and changes frequently), it's never hard to find something good. And their porch heaters are great for cool fall evenings. It was 50 degrees out when we ate outside, but with warm clothes and the heater, it was delightful. It appears that they are taking very good COVID-19 precautions inside the restaurant as well.
It was our first time at Aposto and we were blown away! The food was delicious and refined, our server made an excellent wine suggestion, and the ambiance was cozy.
Was assigned not my favorite table. Will remember to request my favorite table in the future
Delicious meal! We went with another couple that had never been there and they loved it as well!
Unique and quaint environment. Perfect for celebrating our anniversary. Service was impeccable, waited on by several people between water refills, bar service, food delivery etc. Really nice touch with the hostess seating us and then wishing us a happy anniversary just from my earlier reservation and not saying a thing about it to her when we arrived. Food was absolutely amazing. Pricey, but great venue for a special occassion.
Really nice ambience plus excellent service. Extremely nice dining experience.
We can't wait to go back. Was certainly some of the best food and experience I've ever had. Sincerely, the BEST food IVE EVER HAD.
Everything is outstanding here at Aposto. We love the added outdoor seating. It was the perfect place to celebrate our third wedding anniversary!!
My husband I dined at Aposto on a Wednesday evening to celebrate our 31’s wedding anniversary and we’re seated at a table inside. There was only one other table with diners in our area so we felt very comfortable with the social distancing. All staff we observed were wearing masks. The food was superb as usual. We enjoyed a charcuterie plate and shishito pepper for starters. Our entries were the special for the night which was scallops. We splurged on dessert; the Lemoncello Panna Cotta and Lou Ann’s Carrot Cake. Needless to say we had some food left to take home! We have never been disappointed with a meal at Aposto.
Unique food options, endless drink options and great atmosphere. Service was next level.
Love it. Cant wait to go back and taste a new menu
Excellent food, excellent service! We went with high expectations as our friends had great things to say about it, and it didn’t disappoint! We can’t wait to go back!
Perfect night! Great food and awesome atmosphere.
Great as always. This is one place that never fails to deliver.
It was hands down all around an incredible experience. We love Aposto even when it’s not a special occasion, but they made our special evening even more special! The entire team is outstanding.
The restaurant week menu was great. We had the fried rissoto, salmon and the vanilla Panna Cotta. All were cooked perfectly. Our server was great and appeared at just the right time. We will be back soon!
Amazing! Very fresh, delicious food. One of the best meals I've ever had.
This was a date night for DSM restaurant week. We love going to Aposto for special occasions. The food was spectacular! Exceeded my already high expectations. The pesto with the Arancini was amazing. Hope they make that again. And the sauce with the salmon was delightful. The cherries with the chocolate tart were also perfectly flavorful. Small details that add up to an amazing meal.
Everything was fantastic, the service, the food, the ambiance. Thank you for taking such good care of us, that Salmon is still on my mind!
We celebrated my birthday and we picked the perfect place to do it.
Best place in Des Moines, it never disappoints. Amazing food, great wine list and the one of a kind setting in a beautiful old Sherman Hill house.
Great service, friendly staff, exceptional food. Will definitely be dining here again soon
Food was outstanding. Service was outstanding. Great ambiance in an old Victorian home. We'll definitely be back.
We showed up (at the beginning of restaurant week, maybe even lucky to get a reservation?) so all of the selections on the regular menu were not available, but we were both able to find something that sounded good, and the food was delicious once we got it!
The food was great and I always enjoy their servers.
First of all the place is adorable! Service was good as well. Made a reservation on a Friday evening not knowing it was restaurant week, but that was ok because I still wanted to try the restaurant out. It was a rather warm evening and I requested to sit on the patio so I was really looking forward to a nice fresh cold salad, but only fried cheese and rice appetizer or creamy onion soup was offered. I pick the fried cheese of course, very heavy for summer in my opinion. Second course a choice between sausage/pasta and salmon, I ordered the salmon, again I thought the sausage and the heat would not be a great combo. Salmon was definitely on the well side. Normally when I’ve ordered salmon in the past it comes more on the medium side of preparation, but I didn’t specifically ask for it medium so that was my bad. The salmon itself was not dry even though it was well done, however it was VERY salty, but luckily there was an amazing vinaigrette to offset the salt. My girlfriend and split the two dessert options. Both were good, except for the soggy cherries served with the chocolate torte. Wine selection was stellar, along with knowledgeable bartender. Overall, I would not go back simply because the the first two courses. Perhaps I would have enjoyed it better if I didn’t go with the limited menu options. Thank you for having us and hope everyone stays healthy.
We celebrated my birthday at Aposto's first night of restaurant week. We ate inside but the tables were well separated and all the servers and hostess wore masks so it felt safe. The food was outstanding and the service attentive. Nice choices although limited due to restaurant week but the cost was reflective.
